I think Lawwell deserves credit for coming out and doing what our fans wanted and that’s apologise for making the mistake in going to Dubai.
I still believe that Dermot Desmond had the final say in keeping Lennon back in November.
I think if it was up to Lawwell, then Lennon would’ve been replaced.

Whats your view on his statement Ed? apart from the fact he used "Proven" 50 million times 🤣.

Ed 007 at least the club have come out and acknowledged their mistake with regards to Dubai. Sometimes in life you make mistakes and irrespective of how much you would like to rewind and undo it you can’t. The best you can do is hold your hands up. He’s done that with respect to Dubai and apologised he can do no more. I’d like to know if it was Dermot Desmond that nailed his tail to that seat and made him make the announcement and apologise.

Disappointed however that he didn’t honour the board’s commitment made in November as I said earlier to update us following the January review in the context of their statement made then that Neil Lennon was the man to turn thing round about which we all know now not to be the case. Maybe that will come later in January but it will certainly need to come before season ticket renewal time. PS: he hasn’t half aged dramatically.

{Ed007's Note - The Dubai stuff I really couldn't care less about, JFP. The Board never made any commitment to update the fans regarding a review:

"The Board continues to work closely with Neil and his team to support them as they seek to do so and progress will be reviewed in the new year.
The Board wishes to take this opportunity to thank all Celtic supporters ....."

I think even JP Taylor has got the wrong end of the stick as there was never any official statement - that I can see anyway - that fans would be updated.}

All staged by lawell, he may as well have gave Gerry the questions.
It’s worked for us the last 4 years, yes but we weren’t in a global C.V. and we weren’t 19 points behind them.
Then the usual “let’s stick together “ he’s starting his baiting for season tickets already, mentioning world class club . World class clubs don’t get beat by Ross county, go 22 points behind their rivals, and the football we watched this year has been anything but class.

Ed good quote that statement certainly doesn’t reflect JP Taylor’s statement. For me the reason an apology was due for Dubai isn’t that it wasn’t too clever but the outcome and losing to Hibs with having to play with no recognised strikers self isolating. As I said he can’t undo it what's done is done. Just received the PL interview from the club by email which has obviously been sent to all season ticket holders something had obviously made him act. On another note the interviewer referred to allegations of arrogance and loss of values at the club? I think these guys are on the banter page Ed. I’ve thought that with a few articles I’ve read elsewhere which were just about word for word for comments on here. Either that or one our butters are under cover reporters. 😂 Cheers Ed.

Too little too late and maybe an attempt to escape further sanctions and curry favour with a support that he knows wants him gone.

The statement is appalling yes he says it was wrong and apologies then spends 5 minutes explaining why it was a great idea. Complete non apology makes things far worse in my view.

KOK that’s a fair point when somebody says to you ‘I’m sorry BUT’ it’s not an apology not even in Korea.

Personally I think the Board now realise the arrogant and aloof approach was not going down well at all with the fans and felt they had to change tack. I feel that the statement is about as disingenuous as you will come across and is seen by them as a sop to try and calm the disquiet. It shrieks of fabrication and appeasement. It is also the classic tactic of "it's them and us" scenario. I, for one, am not buying it. No deflection from the corporate dereliction of duty from the top down in my opinion.

Listened to the statement with an open mind and hope, just didn’t seem sincere to me, coming just after Walker saying an apology was required wasn’t helpful. Should have happen d as soon as sturgeon raised it.

The most impressive thing about that is how he kept a straight face when claiming he wanted to maximise the potential of our club when he gave Lennon the manager's job.
