Haven't watched Declan Gallagher and no absolute nothing about him other than he's an international no-nonsense centre half according to reports that scored against us.

Out first priority is to stop shipping goals particularly from corners every one of which is a goal scoring opportunity for the opposition. That makes a centre half who wins the ball in the air and can head it the way he's facing or find row z if need be essential. It also makes Declan Gallagher a better bet than Benkovic who hasn't played recently and isn't that type of player. We're trying to win the SPL not the CL.

I would have Declan all day he doesn't miss many games but if it's benkovic then it's another example of gross mismanagement the guy is made of chocolate. shambles.

Mally as I said I haven’t seen him but he appears to be what we need according to his CV and agreed Benkovic isn’t.

I'd go for him too. Free in the summer and if it doesn't work out we don't lose much. Or we can go sign another jack hendry for 1.5m or maybe big marv commper for a mil. And lose out both in every way.

I tend to agree with you all on this one, I really like the idea of a 100% (or as near as) Benkovic because he can play, but he hasn't played since he was last with us!

Right now we need someone to go straight into the back 4 and plug the gaps, Declan is 30 next month, knows the league, the club, is an international and is from Rutherglen - can it get any better than that? (LOL)

Theres no reason why we couldn't have both, Gallagher will hardly break the bank and Benko is a loan.

Ultra defensive Scotland? We were playing israel and Serbia who are both brutal. And you're right it takes more than a cb. Something we r lacking. No better than duffy who at least has played in a decent league. We have to be looking at better or we will go even further backwards. wouldn't have him ahead of any of our CBS. Also in final 6 months of contract. Let's see what big hitters go for him. O Donnell ended up at Motherwell as noo e wanted him. Will be same for gallagher.
