Celtic are in a horrendous position in the league because it took Lennon until December 23rd to try the diamond 4-3-1-2 formation (4-4-2) .
Lenny went back and forward 5 times between the 4-2-3-1 and the 3-5-2 formations.
They clearly weren't working but he continued to try them for another 13 games before he finally went with a formation that clearly is working.
Celtic started playing 4-2-3-1 for the first 6 games of the season in all competitions.
After we signed Duffy, we changed to a 3-5-2.
That formation lasted for 9 games until after we lost at home to Milan.
After trying both formations Celtic were still conceding loads of goals and we were leaving our lone striker isolated.
That was the time to change to the diamond 4-3-1-2.
But on October 25th away to Aberdeen, Lennon went back to the 4-2-3-1.
Ajeti had a terrible game as the lone striker and Celtic conceded another 3 goals.
Lennon continued playing the 4-2-3-1 for 7 games until we lost 4-1 to Sparta for a second time.
By this time the fans wanted Lennon sacked.
Lennon once again decided to change back to the 3-5-2 for our cup exit against Ross County.
We continued playing the 3-5-2 for 4 games.
Then once again it was back to the 4-2-3-1 for the Killie and Scottish cup final games.
And only then 10 days ago did Lennon try the 4-4-2.
Lenny went back and forward 5 times between each formations and each time was a big failure.
Now Celtic look like playing a formation that works but Lenny is 2 months too late.

Numbers mean Feck all apart from 10 mate. i've wanted a 442 from the first game. We all knew (or sensed) at the start of the season that the only thing that will stop the 10 was Celtic. Today was a sore one to take considering we dominated the game. Corpus was an empty jersey.10 is not over but it will be a huge uphill struggle. 🙏🙏.

Great post Buzz, can I also add that in nearly all of the matches where we played 3-5-2, we did so with only 1 striker and a midfielder playing up beside the striker.
