This is not a criticism of any of the GKs at Celtic. However, I do hope we go in for big Forster in January and get him back for 10 in a row.

Easilly the best GK I have seen in the Hoops, although Boruc was a close second at his peak.

C'mon Peter make it happen for us.

I'd like to think he's kicking himself at turning us down to still not be playing at Southampton. I agree he'd be better than what we've got but it was his indecision that has ended up in us spending £5m on Barkas. It just wouldn't happen.

Really can't see us dropping a £5m goalie indefinitely but we can't go on having to score three or four goals every week to win games?
It's just not between the sticks we have problems, because big Duffy is causing a goal-a-game at least as well. Sometimes players can play through bad spells and sort themselves out; but if the mistakes and conceding so many goals continue, we will have decisions to make.

It wasn't Forster indecision Jim, Forster wanted permanent deal and Lawwell was offering loan to buy which I suspect Lawwell would of attempted to lowball Southampton with a lower fee at end of loan. I don't blame Forster to be honest, all he was looking for was security for next few seasons.

The signs were there when we got him in and had a better look at Barkas.
It was mentioned we were wanting the Swedish Roma keeper on loan.
Why if we’ve paid £5 million for a keeper and we have Bain as a number 2.

Bang on there its been obvious for the past few seasons.

@philtim88, how could Lawwell have negotiated a loan to buy and then offered a lowball fee when the fee would've already been agreed at the start?

Was the fee for Barkas not £2.7M plus add ons?

Gk department is weaker than last season without a doubt. 2 quality keepers left and only one replacement has come in.

Southampton weren't going to pay up Forsters contract and we wouldn't and couldn't match the £80k per week he is on. I don't really blame him not walking away from a £4M per year contract. Would you?

This love in about Foster is ridiculous, how far did we go in Europe when he was here,?, we cannot match his wages, forget about him.
