Just read an article online where, apparently, Chris Sutton has said that he thinks Steven Fletcher is a "sensible" option for Celtic in order to give Eddy a rest for certain games. Am I missing something here?

In a way I think he's right. Don't get me wrong, I'd prefer somebody with more potential. But what are we realistically after unless Eddie leaves? It's a 3rd/ 4th choice striker. He's ready made to deliver domestically, he'll be well aware of the role he'll be playing, and he's on a free. Ambitious? Naw. Sensible? Aye probably.

i think big fletcher is a sensible option to considering the fire power we all ready have. and he offers something different big physical striker and knows the league and played at a good level.

just going on this season 13 goals in 23 starts for a team sitting 16th in the championship isn't to bad at all. but personally hope we go all out for toney although i can't see us paying up.

Liam if your going to talk about his goals scoring stats why only use one season. He scored 38 times in a 136 games for Wednesday. that's piss poor. His whole career is a goal every 4th game. He's pish.

Any striker we sign (if we sign) has to be of a potential quality to develop into a eduard replacement first choice striker otherwise it's another uneeded wage and we then still have to replace eduard when he leaves and for me fletcher isn't that.

what's you point on that goal ratio kev. big Sutton scored 60 odd goals for us in 138 games. big fletcher can add something different he has always been a good big player. see if he was 26 would people still be not wanting him. age means nothing. Edouard is number one and we all know what griff offers there's bags of goals in him and klimala looks like he knows were the net is to big fletcher adds something totally different from the rest of them something were missing in our strikers.
