Taylor seems to be taking pelters on SM. I think it's a bit harsh. The general complaints seem to be that he can't beat a man and has no place. Oh and he's to wee. I won't comment on the to wee as it doesn't deserve a comment. The other two are probably correct but he has other qualities.

He has a great engine and is up and down the line all day, he does the defensive side very well and he rarely gives a ball away. Frimpong for instance skips by opponents but often his final ball comes to nothing, Taylor plays a 15 yard pass to macgregor who does his magic and something happens.

Frimpong can't defend as well as Taylor. But Frimpong is raved about because he is exciting to watch. Forrest can't defend either and has a tendency to come inside when the wingbacks role is to stay wide and stretch the pitch.

So none of them are perfect but for me Taylor gets the stick because he isn't exciting enough even though he is often doing the dirty work that is allowing the exciting players to play. he's not perfect by any stretch but if he had pace and could beat a man he would be Tierney and worth 30 mill and we can't afford that type of player.

I mean no harm to Taylor whatsoever but he is nowhere near the level required to be a Celtic player. He looks a nervous wreck when he receives the ball. Yesterday he was up against Sevco reject Lee Hodson and didn’t manage to get by him once in 90 minutes. We lost a top class left back last summer in Tierney and replaced him we 2 poor/ average ones.

if I'm a right back for the opposition I'm rubbing my hands up against taylor and most will probably have a comfortable game.

I agree he is maybe not the level we would like to see at Celtic but a player like Tierney comes along once in a generation, Frimpong we seem to have won a watch so outwith with spending big coin what is the alternative? We spent over 3 mill on a player with European experience and look what that got us. I think if you were to ask the Celtic players they would problably rate him higher than the fans as he is selfless. I noticed Callum Macgregor looking him out after he scored a couple of weeks ago for his assist. And remember wingback which he is asked to play is not his nature position. he's played left back all his career. It doesn't matter how well the team are playing the fans have to have something or someone to moan about. 5 0 yesterday and Taylor gets it.

his crossing is great . his quick passing inside aligned with good movement and link up negates his ability to go by players like a winger which he is not, he is good defender with a great workrate . no he isn't a good as tierney who ****ed off and left us, but its his first season stepping up to our level and imo is doing a good job.

theres no doubt right now he is our best option don't think anyone would argue.
