Nick Hammond full time scout just announced.

Thoughts?

Read the job the new zombie boy done at Southampton. Restructured the entire youth set up ECT. All there fans comments on social media yesterday was the poor signings. He will be judged on signings. You saying they are idiots won't change the fact.

{Ed007's Note - Yeah there's plenty of idiots out there that don't have a clue about how a football club is structured and run behind the scenes.
In fact I'm not going to waste my time, ask the expert TRIFC fans on social media, start with why they have different job titles and what those jobs entail.}

Fae what I am hearing he's been tasked with stripping down and completely rebuilding the scouting department. They let Rodgers man do it and it was a complete disaster in the boards eyes and they want it fixed.
Obviously he's got a lot more to do than just scouting but that's to be one of his priorities.
I like what I've read and heard about him so fingers crossed.

{Ed007's Note - He's in charge of the scouting department amongst others, he won't do much scouting, Kev, that's what scouts are for. Congerton was a Head of Recruitment which is a different job altogether, Hammond is the closest we'll get to a DOF while Lawwell is around. All the academy staff, the sports science, medical & performance analysis teams etc are all under his control and even the first team coaches including Lennon to a certain extent will follow his plans behind the scenes.}

Ye get that ed but I've heard we are down to something like 5 scouts.
2 England
2 in europe
1 in America at moment.
Seems full system is getting overhauled and quite a few new scouts for other continents being brought in.
Seems Rodgers and co decimated it.

Early days to say but it's certainly the sort of role I wanted us to get somebody in so fingers crossed it pays off. Yes, when judging our recruitment, a lot will fall at NH's door step. But the big question regarding that is how much clout will he have? I'd suspect PL will still be the decisive figure there. What sort of stuff have you read about him Kev? I haven't seen much myself.

Heard something about it being a mess a while back jim but guy comes in my work was talking about it last week.
Sure he said America ed.
He said we are looking to get more scouts out.
You'd think man Utd would have more than the eh?

{Ed007's Note - Not really Kev, Liverpool and Man City have about the same number of scouts that are employees. A lot of clubs use freelance scouts or the contacts of their employed scouts to do basic scouting and recommend players.}
