Can English teams sign free agents? For instance if Celtic released Sinclair would he be able to sign and play for an English club or would they need to wait until January to register him?

I think he would need to be released before our transfer window closed and then it would be okay for an english team to sign him as a free agent.
But if the club and sinky came to an agreement and he was released after Sept 2nd even though he was a free agent, an english club could not sign him up.

{Ed007's Note - Sinclair would need to have been a free agent before the English window closed for an English club to sign him.}

Cheers.

Just a thought that it may be on the horizon to free up wages if Ibe is on his way.

is it just me or did we seem to take a hard knock back on linked players coming in then no coming in the day really trying to kick a man while they are down attitude the day?

Not sure what you mean Rich T.

For the record I am a fan of Sinclair and I'm disgusted with his treatment under Lennon so far.

I just wondered if he has been told he won't feature if he would ask to be released or if the club would offer him the chance to go. After all it was the club that triggered the 1 year extension on his contract (probably in the hope of selling him and getting a fee) . If he sees out the remaining year the cost to the club is around £1.5M.

They triggered Sinky's one year extension in the hope they would get a £3million transfer fee. All deals fell through even though Lenny kept on insisting he didn't want him to go, which we all now know was a lie because of they way Sinky has been treated. A disgraceful way to treat a player who has been a big player that helped win the treble treble.

We refused the option to trigger Lustig's one year transfer extension, instead offered him a reduced wage deal, which he quite rightly declined. After 8 long years of magnificent service, Celtic disrespected our vice captain and at a time when we are struggling for cover for both right back and centre half. Lustig was still good enough to play in the scottish league and he earned the right to be offered the same extension that Sinky was offered.

The board have made a mess of everything that was good at the club in the space of 3 transfer windows or one year. Last Christmas everything looked rosie in the garden, the players looked happy with most of our best players signing new and improved contracts and the future looked bright with 10 in a row a certainty.

Slowly but surely the cracks started to appear that only Lawwell can tell us why. Rumours turned out to be true that the manager was unhappy probably due to PL downsizing plan. The players know the manager wants out and then all of a sudden players like Dembele are wanting to leave and forward on a year, it has got even worse than any sevco fan could have hoped for because we have pressed the self destructive button and are now in total disarray.

We now have a manager in place that most fans didn't want, I admit I wanted him but the most important thing we have noticed is the players don't look as if they want to play for him and they don't look a happy bunch anymore. Our best players have either left or want to leave and are probably regretting those contract extensions they signed last year.

For some reason there is a dark cloud hanging over Celtic park and the only way I can see it being shifted this important season is by getting decent players in the positions all fans know need strengthened to help the good players we already have at the club or we sack Lenny and start all over again and get a manager that the players want to play for.

This sitting back every day watching nothing happening is brutal but it will be nothing compared to what it will feel like if we hand the title to sevco because of our own mismanagement. Get it sorted Celtic.
