Too much to lose KT and Calmac in one window, but unfortunately he will no doubt be off in next 12 months or so like KT.

Need to stop looking back and try looking forward. Teams like Ajax are decimated every year, yet keep producing. No club can rest on it’s laurels wether they’re successful or not . Game would be boring without changing personnel, we just need to accept this and hope we can keep improving .

{Ed007's Note - Everybody - me included btw - goes on about how we should be trying to emulate what Ajax do and yet when it does work supporters moan about the player not showing any loyalty even though he's been here for 15 years and brought in £25 million.
Ajax have spent just over 50 million Euros this window but they took in over 160 million in fees this summer, so they haven't even spent a third of their transfer income on new players, do you think their fans are moaning about them not spending money etc and that the people running Ajax get accused of forcing players out to top up their pensions and other such nonsense?}

Ajax's model works because they aren't afraid to field a team with an average age of 23.
In order for players that have the potential to make it they must be given game time.
We have plenty of players in the youth system that will be farmed out on loan, playing in the u21s and sitting on the bench for certain games.
They need to be given a chance and given game time within the first team.
Ajax also buy or recruit from all over Europe from a young age. This gives them a great crop of players each year that develop within the first team.
We won't do that for the nextv2 season because of what we are trying to achieve. I understand and accept this. However I agree Ed after the push for history we should adopt this trend as the financial rewards are massive but also the talent that would be willing to come to get the chance to play at a young age would increase immensely.
I still would like us to get a strong core of Scottish players in to be the back bone of the club to push us on further and keep giving the fans idols to adore.
Start with CalMac get the lad a new contract and vice captaincy.

{Ed007's Note - I don't think it needs to be necessarily Scottish players but I'd like to see the core of our team coming from our academy.}

Scottish/ home grown is what I meant Ed sorry, but yes I've banged on about this loads, we have a massive chance to achieve this as our structure within Scottish football is so strong.

{Ed007's Note - The money's there to invest in our academy and training set up etc to put us beyond anything else in this country for years to come. One of the problems is that some supporters don't want to look at things that way and want every penny that comes in spent on new players.}

Well I'd rather spend money on youth investment and development than players who blow hot and cold, only bought to fill gaps in the squad, not really good enough to demand a start.
Ajer is a perfect example, and for a potential fee of £650k it's just unreal recruitment, just need more of it.
