This is the rub. do you wait till near the end of the transfer window and hope Christopher Jullien and Peter Ankersen don't get better offers or do you move on to other targets?

Under no circumstances do you do that. Yet we have been presented with the equivalent year in, year out. I think the reality of the Lennon appointment may be kicking in now. Not that Rodgers always recruited well, but there was the feeling he might with the right sort of player.
