I can believe the Nitcham rumours of him leaving, not because of the silly "unfriending" thing but Lawwell will want to recoup any money he gives to Lennon.
We all know the Board are wanting to cut our wage bill too and this season is the perfect opportunity with loan players going back and players out of contract. Don't forget too not making group stages of CL cost the club over £25m (yes Pedro you take your share of blame too pal)
I said this to my ex bear pals yesterday, Celtic are a well run club and look every year to not only balance the books but make some money. So if we lose say 9 players I expect only 4 or 5 to come in. The club are always looking to be fiscally secure.
Compare that to the new club, who despite all their debts and money problems will still push the boat out for Stevie Gee, they do not care about debt because they have NO INTENTION of paying it back anyway.
There is the true difference between our club and theirs.

Tim as much as I do much prefer being a Celtic fan over a rangers fan for some of the above reasons - being on the moral High horse sometimes doesn’t get you any further. Rangers screwed the morals and won through the ebt years and chalked up the Wins. I’d hate to not get good players because people were worried about not getting high % in profit margins. Low % in profit margins plus a good squad is a win win for a fan but not a shareholder or director. Unless your a fan who is a shareholder and you might be praising the old gods and the new for the penny pinching balance sheet beautiful margins 😂.

The priority has to be 10 in a row. Given the financial advantage we have, not getting it is unforgivable and heads will roll if it doesn't happen. Neil Lennon will be as desperate as we are to make it happen so it's his job to convince the board to spend on the right players. It's still only June so loads of time to get the right guys in.

The priority has to be to keep running the club well.

So you'd be happy to lose the league on the last day of the season as long as we make a profit aindoh?

Timalloy fair enough we missed out on CL group stages but I personally think Lawwell is not to blame this time. For me the sole blame lies with Brendan Rodgers. It's clear deal to take him to Leicester was done back in August (loaning Benkovic was a sweetener to seal deal) , I think Lawwell was wise to hold back transfer funds for new manager to build his own team instead of funding Rodgers.
