I said NO to my ex bear pals

Yesterday I met up for our usual Sunday lunchtime pint and received this bet offer.
The Suit wanted to bet £5k (yes FIVE THOUSAND) remember he is a well heeled businessman.
My other 2 ex bears wanted a more "modest" bet of £1k each. (they claim they won this on last game at Ibrox against us)
They are absolutely convinced with Lennon in charge they will "walk the league" hence the £7k bets in total.
Although I was SORELY TEMPTED to take their money, I could not justify a) such a big bet and b) tying up all that cash for 9 months
and c) Mrs T would have KILLED ME
So told them NO.
You can imagine the jibes I received of "running scared" "bottle merchant" etc but I held firm and smiled and walked away.
Just to clarify although I like a punt, I have learned to listen to my head and not my heart.
I COULD have cashed in a wee extra policy I have nearing completion but chose NOT to do so. Anyway, I did not fancy sleeping in the garden shed if Mrs T found out lol
Instead I told all 3 to go to bookies and place bets with them at odds of 9/ 4 for a Sevco title win.

Why would anyone take even money on a bet that's worth odds of 9/ 4,that just shows how gullible they really are.

Tim why did you not take the bet and put 3150 on in the bookies. That way your covered both ways.

@Leon bhoy 10 The suit in particular would rather take MY money, just to prove how "superior" he is over a Tim
@BigBenny that would have entailed me putting about £10k away for 9 months. Mrs T would have divorced me and thrown me on the streets lol.

9/ 4 they were 8/ 1 last year we were 1/ 10 now 4/ 11. If 1 of them offer bet at EVS snap their hand off like you say only bet with your head but surely worth a few hundred at EVS?
