I see that Ralston's contract has been extended for a year. He is problabybon about 8000 a week, We could have signed O'Donnell on a 2 year deal for free and about 10.000 a week . I know who i would rather have signed.

Well that's not good news. No harm to the lad, he has a great attitude but if we want to have a defence worthy of that name, then he just doesn't fit that. Tells me we aren't serious about recruiting what we actually need. Still nobody in is also a worry. Typical us, Take a feckin age to do anything.

@jonace where are you getting these wages from? Personally I doubt ralston is on 8k and o'donnell was a free and signed for motherwell do you think he's getting anywhere near 10k. I'm pretty sure someone at celtic negotiates wages for killie/ motherwell players etc based on previous then add some but not ridiculous amounts like your suggesting.

There is no way that Ralston is on £8k a week, you will be lucky if he is on half that.
We probably took the extra years option as he is the only RB we have at the club, We did sign the young boy front Man Utd but he was sent straight out on loan.
If we let Ralston walk we would need to sign 2 RB's but this way we only need 1 1st choice pick with Ralston and the young boy as back.

What s the point of back up if they aren't anywhere near good enough? And Ralston isn't. Injuries, suspensions and we are back to a defence that is an utter fecking joke. Again, zero ambition and lack of understanding of what a good player looks like. Doesn't fill me with confidence at all. In fact, the opposite.

Magic no one said he was good enough but the new manager needs bodies in the squad right now. What's the harm in triggering the extension in his contract right now and if Ange decides he isn't going to make it we can get a bit of money for him even if it's £200k instead of him leaving on a free.

Ralston shouldn't have been given a new contract. He's not even good enough to warm the bench. I'm quite disappointed with the waste of club resources.

I doubt Turnbull signed for wages that high. O'Donnell is gash, Agreed not as bad as Ralston but don't want him anywhere near Celtic.
