Fergal Harkin and Roy Keane have not gone away you know.
Just keeping everybody in the picture and if your a betting person, check the odds and get your money down, I would be quick though.

7/ 1 for Keane. Hope it's not him but if it is why the delay.

I took Keane at 16/ 1 when Lennon left. I'd prefer him to Howe. With the right backroom team it could be a masterstroke.

Eddie Howe has already been given the nod. Trust me. HH.

If we are waiting for the back room staff at Bournemouth to be finished then if they keep winning it will be the end of May before Howe is announced.

3 more weeks of Celtic silence would drive you mad.

All about opinions lads.

I don't think Howe has the mentality to be Celtic manager. My fear is Mowbray all over again.

thought it was obvious to most that howe has the job.

Del Bhoy if Howe hasn’t got the mentality then who has i your opinion?

Only ask out of curiosity.

I'm starting to think that about Howe also Del Bhoy.
I really hope I'm wrong.

Kev T2, if it were up to me I'd shortlist:

Jindrich Trpisovsky.
David Moyes.
Phillip Cocu.

That would be my 1st, 2nd 3rd choice in that order.

I believe all are realistic targets and would consider us.

If it was Keane or Howe though I'd personally prefer Keane with the right backroom team.

You think David moyes is a realistic target after the season he’s had lol?

Yes.

Why not?

20.) 07 May 2021

I am hoping fergal hasn't went away. Keane has no chance.

Anyone that wants keane does not want him for football reasons. The guy is chronic and no one in their right mind wants to touch him.

22.) 07 May 2021
07 May 2021 15:44:00
Hmmmm Del Boy I wonder why not? Wages he’s on, bigger transfer kitty with West Ham and maybe champions league football for them next season.

Del Bhoy
Who do you think would be Keane's backroom staff in this Eutopia you dream of?
Or perhaps more accurately, what would their roles be?
Here are a few necessary skills required, maybe you can put names to the roles? :

1) Someone to advise him on how not to be an arrogant fekker
2) Someone to tell him the game has moved on and his bully boy tactics won't work
3) Someone to advise him on how not to be an arrogant fekker
4) Someone to explain to him that although he was a terrific player he has failed overall as a manager
5) Someone to advise him on how not to be an arrogant fekker

HH.

@weewhitey

Bigger transfer budget - Of course its the EPL, that'sa given.

Bigger wages - If DD wanted him, he could match or better his salary with ease. West Hams best season in years, you'd think the owners would be throwing everything at him to sign a new long term deal. That hasn't materialised. I thought Moyes was very coy about his future stating the decision of the trigger of another year in his contract is his choice. Maybe he's considering other options or maybe its a tactic in negotiating a new deal. Who knows?

Champions League Football - He can have that year in year out with Celtic if he is a success. Its been one of our biggest pitfalls over the years and it should certainly be an expectation from the board that the new manager at least qualifys for the group stages on a more regular basis. I don't think West Ham will finish 4th this year and I certainly don't think they will be challenging for it next year or the season after.

@BestyBhoy

I'm not sure if you have jumped the gun and not read the full thread.

Roy Keane would not be my number one choice for the role. He probably wouldn't get in my top 5. there's no dreaming of any Eutopia here.

I have simply stated if it was between Roy Keane or Eddie Howe for the role I think Keane would be the better choice, especially if the backroom team was right.

Since you have asked the question how about Harkin DOF, Keane Manager, Maresca No.2 and an older head like John Robertson as a coach as well. Harkin and Keane will be well aware of the best coaches, scouts, sports scientists etc at City or Utd or anywhere down south in fact that may be within our reach.

Compared to Eddie Howe, Stephen Purches and Stephen Fletcher I'd take the above team of serial winners any day of the week. that's a good enough football reason for me.

If its Eddie Howe he will 100% get my backing and support. My gut feeling is that he is a massive gamble. I think Howe and his team will get the culture shock of their lives when they realise the intensity and scrutiny they will come under when they are expected to win every game domestically. Keane would be better equipped to handle that side of it along with the main stream media up here as well.

Don't be afraid of a bit of arrogance. Its not done the likes of Klopp, Pep, Jose, Conte or even Rodgers any harm over the years. In fact name me one successful manager in the past 15 years who isn't an arrogant b*****d.

As said previously, its all about opinions lads.
