Salzburg manager interested in taking celtic job. That would be a good appointment.

I'd be delighted if we could get somebody like Marsh who could help us tap in to the Red Bull mindset when it comes to structure and development but it's likely he'll have lots of offers soon. Rose is off to Dortmund etc. Whether he's genuinely interested or he's just paying lip service, we should be asking the question.

Obviously we didn't want to rush into this appointment and be too hasty, but at the same time, I hope we really are pretty close to making a decision? Because waiting until summer takes us into CL qualifiers, transfer window and the managerial merry-go-round that could give us unwanted competition and put doubts into minds.
Ideally, I would like to see an announcement before May; to give us plenty of time to prepare and plan, considering we have players looking to move-on during whole restructuring of the football side.
I appreciate the candidate may be in a job, but we of course, lost a manager under contract; so it can be negotiated for the right man.

I personally believe the board already have the man the want but have not announced it yet. This could be due to them currently being in a job or for another unknown reason but I think we already have our man.

Ice man I agree I am sure we have already agreed with a DoF and a new manager and March bless him I think was just being polite in the interview. I am sure it will be the Man City pair that have already got the job just waiting on the season to end for them to take up new positions but assessing the team now from afar Only logical reason that Celtic have not mentioned any names.

Just a hunch I just can't see what other reason Celtic would have not to atleast say we have got it down to X amount of names and IF we have got a team set up why not say who they are unless they are already in a job?

Agree with you Tony and I said it on the other page earlier today, I'm also leaning towards it being the duo from Man City which, if it was, would be a progressive step - a positive move in the right direction.

Having said that Terry Thomas could still pull the proverbial out the hat - he's done it before.

{Ed007's Note - It'll be a huge step up for Maresca to go from Man City's under 23s to head coach at Celtic and all that entails, how would he handle the pressure and the press? Would being a No.2 at Celtic appeal more than City's Under 23 team, maybe No.2 to Keane with Harkin as DOF?}

Ed, I hear what you're saying but would a successful U23 Coach for City joing along with a D. O F. he's worked with be anymore or less of a gamble than Slippy G over moving to SEVCO after a dozen games as a coach?
