Fletcher deal is dead because Celtic are getting ajeti. word got through last night to Celtic that ajeti wants to come. The deal is a loan but basically a permanent because if he reaches ten games which I imagine he will then it will become permanent. Will arrive in Glasgow tomorrow.

I bet ajeti does not arrive in Glasgow tomorrow .

If you are right and I am wrong, then I'll be happy to be disproven.

And one last point . he had lockdown . has rarely played. has the chance to come to us 3 weeks ago. has dithered. now appeard to be on holiday having a rest AFTER his 9 sub appearances last year. he has hardly charged up london road to be part of a record breaking attempt.

By all accounts, he will be coming to us with wages protected and because noone else wants him because he is not game fit.

Wasn’t overly impressed by the thought of fletcher but thought he would have done a job as a back up striker and a different option to what we have! Not in the least bit bothered if he didn’t come but. must say but and I’ve said it a few times. the way we handle transfers and transfer strategy in general is baffling honest tae god! We cannot just seem to see a player we like and go and get him without a fuss! Sadly it’s been like this as far back as I can remember! Really comes across as amateur hour some times.

{Ed007's Note - Celtic can't control what the press and morons on social media say. What have Celtic done wrong? They can't stop Barry Fry mouthing off even if it pi$$es them off, they can't stop all the ITK morons on Tw@tter saying umpteen times a deal for Fletcher has been done and they can't force Ajeti - whose season only finished last week and who is still on holiday - to make a decision after he told them he wanted time to make the right choice.
Celtic only do things wrong if you read - and even worse believe - the rubbish in the papers or social media. Just because we've scouted a player or registered an interest doesn't mean we're going to sign them, clubs do it with literally hundreds of players.}

Don't like the idea of players coming who are not fit or haven't played games for some time. We had to endure months of settling in and fitness issues with Soro and Klimala and it wastes a lot of time.
I was against the Fletcher signing, but at least he was playing regularly and may have settled in very quickly?
NL uses the phrase 'Hitting the ground running' when looking at recruitment and that should be a foregone conclusion.
Look at the time, energy and money lost with the winter signings, along with Shved, Bayo and Compper who's careers never materialized.

Ed, do you know much about ajeti? Do you think he'll be a good signing, if he does join us?

{Ed007's Note - He was highly rated when he was at Basel but the move to West Ham hasn't worked out for him. I do think he will be a good signing if he can get back to the level he was at before the move to England.}

Its a rumour page. Doesn't matter if it pans out or not. People put up wee snippets that's flying about.

@ Wulie, I can quite well believe that. I remember an interview with a former West Ham manager (I think it might have been Bilic) and he said that a lot of their business and how much they pay/ recieve is based on clauses around appearances etc. I'm sure they (whoever it was) said that they were limited to how much they could play Javier Hernandez due to costs and I think I heard something similar lately about Soucek being a permanent signing due to the amount of games he's played.

It might not have worked out at West Ham but based on his record for Basel and what I've read/ watched, coupled with his age, I'd much prefer a loan to buy on Ajeti than Fletcher. How many times have you reminded the troops Ed that Sutton had a bad spell at Chelsea. 'One Swallow Does Not A Summer Make' and all that.
