I was speaking to a carpet fitter earlier who did my brother's mate's mate's carpets and he said that it was a 4 year deal and a guaranteed coaching role at the end of it

Plus fletcher gets free meals in the planned new hotel plus an Adidas discount on all celtic gear.

There was a time and a place for Fletcher at celtic n that was under Strachan when he left hibs, not know when he's past it and done nothing of note for years!

He'll be good back up for year and different option good deal.

Brutal signing sums up our board in 1 purchase. Pathetic kick in the teeth to supporter who backed the club finically.

Good back up? He hardly scores a goal when he plays week in week out. Have we learned nothing from the likes of freddie Ljungberg or daryl murphy?

This would be another large wage for nothing. the rangers are good at signing pensioners but its not our policy.

Waste of a signing for me this one if it happens. No way does fletcher play ahead of edouard, klimala or griffiths if he’s fit and ready, and god forbid we were to lose edouard this window, if Lennon or the board think fletchers going to cut it they can think again.

Club has record season ticket sales and this is the fans reward? F*#k me! Be better off keeping Bayo.

Shankland would be a much better signing, or have been, or will be, depending on how much truth there is on this "rumours page ".
Someone of Fletcher's age and experience and maturity would be perfect in the middle of the defence, absolutely no need for him at the other end of the team.

And this is what we get when the board hire a puppet, Yes man as a manager.
I'm just away to grab my hard hat before the screams of "We are all Lennon" begin.

basically just to replace bayo i do not see what the panty wetting is about. he adds something different knows the league i think he will do well. we have our main striker and griff and klimala looks like he can score to so why go out and splash millions on a striker when there's other areas the money needs spent. wee have a strong squad as it is 1 or 2 signings is all that's needed.

This signing smacks of a cheap alternative, how many fans could 100% say we will have eddy come the end of the window . If that happens I’m not convinced we have a forward line that will our score the Rangers . Kemar roofe was decent for Leeds, the Belgian lad had a 1 in 2 record in Belgium plus Defoe is always good for 10-20 goals for them of fit. I’d have thought after the Rangers threw down a gauntlet to us with two signings on one day, we would have reacted . Unfortunately signing Fletcher is not the reaction most fans were after . Griffs temperament at the minute is a bit up and down, this is a gamble that could get the board chased if we don’t get to 10. It’s obvious the Rangers are going to throw everything at it, we have to act in kind. On their day against us, they matched us, their squad strength was their weak point. They have recognised this and done something about it. Why are we so slow to react or in fact push on from a position of strength.

How can the club receive record season ticket sales and will more than likely make record sales on the new home top and possibly the other tops too and then go out and deliver a signing like Fletcher. Does this board not want to win 10 in a row after all the investment the fans have put into the club the board should be going all out to support and fund the team to the fullest of there extent. There should be no make-do signings. We need proven quality in our team especially this year.

Well that's torturous but possibly not as bad as watching us drag the process of signing someone else through til October. Better bloody sign the damn contract and prove most of us wrong.

If we keep Eddy, move on Bayo and bring in Ajeti and Fletcher we're much better off up front than we were last season.
SF won't be on big money and would be a good option in a front two against the many 10 man defences we'll face over the course of this potential 60 game season.
As long as he's not the only forward coming in I'm happy with the move.

Why is everyone driving themselves into a frenzy over this? IMO This will be proven to be a shrewd piece of business. The big question is can he stay fit, if he does I've no doubt he will do a job.

quinn because rangers sign 2 players wee need to splash the cash. our squad is strong and needs 1 or 2 signings. so if rangers sign a right back tomorrow wee need top go sign one as well. the manky mob signed 2 strikers because they had to. wee do not have to rush into anything we are the bench mark we just have to be calm and buy the 1 or 2 players without rushing in to it.
