So big Ajer is getting a new bumper long term contract. must be getting sold next summer.

Anybody else like to see Ajer get a run at his natural position CDM? He can tackle, he can carry the baw and as much as we all love Broony his time is running out and plus it would let him get rested which he could do with like everyone else (Y)

It's a no-brainer Jamie; It's only because we have been so short of quality and fit centre backs that he was put there.
He is an all-round talent that should be utilized to the full.

OAB it was nothing to do with that why Ajer became a CB. The minute Rodgers came in he changed him to CB. Then sent him to killie with the instructions that he must play CB.

Only problem is he's our best CB and that would weaken the defence while strengthening the midfield.

I agree Buster and it was very rare I don't share most of your points of view OaB . I mean if you are a natural at something surely you play it covering back the way from there only gives us more solidity in my opinion (Y)

Jamie Ajer played about 4 different positions for start. He even played upfront for a while.
I don't think they had found his best position yet.

Kev any youngster at the age he was could get shunted abouted positions but he captained his Norwegian team as A CDM

I watch the same team as you mate and he was outstanding at Motherwell @ RB and all am saying is he looks a real natural CDM and we are clearly struggling in there at the moment plus our current manager was one himself

Obviously others see what I see and are hoping he gets a wee shot at that berth (Y)

Jamie's he was playing attacking midfield and striker in the weeks leading up to the point he moved to Celtic and he was the captain of their 1st team.

I have no doubt he'd do well at CDM but at this moment in time of say it's to much of a risk to take our best defender out the defence.

Our previous manager was notorious for his 'experimenting' with player positions and done it at Liverpool as well.
He spoiled a brilliant young striker (Miller) by converting him to a LB and now he has totally lost his way and his vocation.
Ajer was originally a midfield player and would be brilliant for us there - as he has shown in every place he has been picked.
I also think Biton should be fully-coached as a CB to allow Ajer to accommodate Ajer - unless we get Wanyama on loan ha ha.

He played one game in pre season as one and looked good when we signed him then got converted. Agree we need him more at the back than as a CDM.
