I know for a fact the RAT called Forrest a few times over the summer to ask if he would be interested!

If that's true it would be tapping up.

Don't doubt for a second that happens with players all over the world Kev.

{Ed007's Note - No it doesn't. That's why players have agents.}

Big bubs it's totally different putting feelers out to agents to find out if a player would be open to a move, than a manager openly contacting a player to ask him to move.
Mind jose and Cole got caught in the restaurant and got their bums felt for it.

Did Jose not do it with Gerrard as well? Ed you're not telling me that if a manager has a personal relationship with a player he wants to sign he wouldn't pick up the phone?

{Ed007's Note - Jose Mourinho & Peter Kenyon met Ashley Cole and his agent in a hotel and that led to Cole being fined £100k by the PL back in 2005. Only an idiot would risk it these days and considering what happened at Liverpool when Rodgers was there I seriously doubt he would do it. You're not trying to tell me that Lawwell wouldn't LOVE to pick up the phone and report Rodgers to the PL for it?
Players will often talk to other players about moves but, whilst wrong, is tolerated as it would be impossible to manage.}

So if Desmond had to step in to stop McGregor from being sold does that mean Pistol Pete was ready to sell him?

The Rat trying to sign McGregor is no big deal guys. So what if he did? Managers of clubs try to sign players all the time.
It was somewhat refreshing though to hear that Desmond and Co. said no to the idea. HH.

Why is Rodgers a Rat yet Tierney is OK.

If people are saying Tierney did what was best for his career then so did rodgers.

This has been the first offer for Tierney and he wanted to go. Rodgers might have moved in February but that's when the offer for him came in and he decided he wanted the new challenge. He might have taken his backroom staff with him but they came with him and he's comfortable with them, it happens with most managers.

And he has every right to go for players he feels will benifit his team we got sinclair that way.

Tierney left because he wanted to just like Rodgers we can put blinders on all we want but at the end of the day he left for the first club that offered him a way out.

I wish him well and I hope he does well.

I believe KT left because of Rodgers, I believe when Everton were interested before and Rodgers stated it would be morally wrong to stand in the way of a young man quadrupling his wages. I reckon he should been saying he is not for sale at any price, I think that was probably when KT decided he would be moving rather than staying for the 10IAR we all thought he would stay for.

As I said in an earlier post (somewhere) , one major differeence between Rodgers and KT is time. Rodgers can continue managing into his 70's like many others before him whilst on the other hand a players time i limited. Few can continue playing at the top level after ther mid 30's. KT was, is and as far as I am concerned always will be a Celt whilst thw manner of BR's leaving etc could quite easily have resulted in Celtic not winning the league last season. For me BR could easily have waited until May. KT obviously sees that to improve his game he needs to be tested week in and week out against the best and like it or not thatthe EPL where very goodplayers are more evenly spread around the various squads whereas Italy, Spain, Germany, France etc are a bit like 2-3 horse races. In an ideal world KT could have realized other dreams with us but unfortunaately its not a level playing field and I cannot see Celtic achieving another European title whilst we play in Scotland. I wish KT all the best and hope I live long enough to see him pull on the hoops again.

Rodgers walked out at a crucial point in thecseadon and basically left us in the lurch so there's a massive difference for me.

The difference between Rodgers and KT is the timing, Rodgers jumped ship at a point in the season where if his replacement hadnt hit the ground running, we could have lost the league and cup. KT has won all he can with celtic and given us years of his life and tbh 10iar is not a given. I for one wish KT well and hopefully see him back in the hoops once he has conquered world football as the best left back in the world.

Anyone that can't see the difference between what Rodgers did jumping ship before the treble was finished while trying to gut the club of our entire back room team and Tierney transferring to a better league during the transfer window must be sniffing glue.

Players come and go, as do managers, if Rodgers left in the close season he would have had all our blessings I’m sure, but he left right before 2 very important games against hibs and hearts, absolutely stupid comparison to make between Rodgers and tierney.
