At Aindoh's request we're running a poll on pyrotechnics at Football. Remembering that this isn't just about one idiot throwing a firecracker onto the pitch - which is a totally different matter - but ALL pyrotechnics inside stadiums:

Should pyrotechnic displays only be organised by the clubs and no one else? Vote here.

To have the highest number of votes for option 3, F**k them! #NoPyroNoParty, kinda demonstrates the problem. Halfwits who take it upon themselves to do what they want are the issue. If people were sensible with pyros then there wouldn't be a problem to begin with but the sadly reality is some aren't. They see it as a licence to behave in whatever loutish way they want and they ruin it for everyone else so for me it's option 1 even though I'd ideally go with option 3. HH.

Are smoke bombs classed as pyro? Used one at paintballing once and seemed harmless. Chucking firecrackers though, that's only going to end up causing harm.

{Ed007's Note - Throwing a firecracker - or anything for that matter - onto the pitch is total knob behaviour and the guy should be charged and banned from games. This debate shouldn't be about flares/smoke bombs, would we be having it if it was a bottle or a golf ball he threw?}

Well we wouldn't Ed no. Hopefully they catch the clown and we see no more firecrackers. You just know as soon as they start searching people for fireworks they'll confiscate smoke bombs too. Totally agree with ypur point on another thread by the way. Its up to the police to handle and clubs shouldn't be held accountable for the actions of individuals.

{Ed007's Note - If there's a fight at a concert is the performer held responsible? And could TRIFC get away with it all by saying it was the company and nothing to do with the club.....

To be honest I’m not that fussed, voted for organised displays but only out of what I see as common sense health and safety and all that. We have a great atmosphere without it. Prefer the tifo stuff if we’re gonnae do anything. All strikes me as boys with toys. More I think about it I’d rather bin whole thing. Xavi/ Robben/ Pitlochry etc have never talked about how great the pyro stuff is.

This is part of the issue Davie. We won a stupid fan award in 2003 or something and since then our fanbase has became this self important entity obsessed about our precious wee image to outsiders.

It's actually demeaning to ourselves to base so much on what others think about us.

We create great atmospheres by supporting our players who wear the hoops, not just so high reputation players can praise us lol.

{Ed007's Note - I always feel it's a sanctimonious pat on the head when players come out with that tosh and don't get me started on the likes of Iniesta being applauded off the park. I really couldn't give a toss what outsiders think of us and yet it seems to consume so many members of our support.}
