Apparently we are being linked with van der vaart on a bosman. Good bit of business if we get him

He's still got the quality but Its sounds BS we won't pay the wages and barely a priority position rather see the cash spent on a CF.

{Ed007's Note - Wiss67 posted earlier about this rumour and I've left it sitting as I'm trying to get a hold of Ed002 to see what she knows about the situation. As far as I know van der Vaart is going to the USA to join Sporting Kansas City.
The player held talks with them last month and although money wasn't discussed per se I think we'd struggle to match the financial package that it would take to even get close to any deal. He's on circa 4 million Euros p.a (£55k a week) at Hamburg and if stories are to be believed SKC are willing to pay him $4.7m a year (about 50k a week) as one of their designated players, we all know we're never going to get near matching that.

It's now almost inevitable once a fairly good player in his 30's is available to move , they will be heading States-side where the money is massive and the standard of play is rather more average .
