New Celtic manager Ronny Deila is weighing up a move for Rosenborg's attacking midfielder Mikkel Diskerud, who is part of the USA's World Cup squad. (Scottish S*n)

Deila is also plotting a swoop to land Sheffield United's Scotland Under-21 star Stefan Scougall. (Various)

Mix Diskerud would be a good signing. Scougall I'm not so sure about as I haven't seen him play. He's the lad who used to be at Livi, eh? Left winger?

Yeah after watching the USA game last night again there is a few of their players who I would take, - I like their mentality, and they never seem to get a doing, even off very good teams. You previously mentioned Brooks, I also really like the left sided Centre back Matt Besler, we need a left sided centre half, as we've only really got Mulgrew, who seems to be playing midfield more and more. The lad Besler has won countless defender of the year awards, and is only earning 100,000 dollars a year. I certainly think there is a bargain to be had with that squad, and as I said they are very consistent/great attitudes, and will be getting great experience/coaching with Klinsmann at this World cup!

I sat with JC at a Corporate event about 2 months' ago and he was raving about Scougall and said to look out for him at Sheffield. He said he alerted Celtic among other top clubs and no-one was interested due to his size. He was really scathing about the attitudes in Scottish football not moving with the times. On Scougall, he said the boy had great natural ability and his attitude was 1st class (extra training etc. ).
