Apparently Ronald Koeman wants to make VVD his first Southampton signing.Just hope the board show some ambition and tell them to eff off!

I've said a few times before that I expect we will sell our two best players VVD and FF. The board will then after banking another fortune make a big deal about how they are going to back the new manager with a transfer kitty of 10/15 mil to take celtic to the next level! Same old nonsense.

Forster replaced by Craig Gordon, VVD replaced by Mark Reynolds.

Maybe Koeman should have been Celtics latest signing?

See how Ronny D turned Johansen from a striker to a deep lying playmaker. maybe he'll turn Amido Balde into a centre half! you never know!

If the player want's to go let him. he will never see champions league football again with Southampton. players come and players go. the club is bigger than any player and the ones that stay are the ones remembered as legends/heros.

IF we get £8-10m for each of them and ALL of it is reinvested in quality new players then I'd be all for it.
The reality though is likely to be quite different. The club may sell for those figures but I doubt all the money would be used for new players. Same old story, sell for big money and buy 2nd rate replacement players for buttons.

If Ronald Koeman wants to sign the Great Wall n Virgil, he'll need to cough upwards of £20m in my opinion. Virgil for a figure in the Wanyama range of £10m to 12.5m. We should also be looking for minimum £10m for Forster - bear in mind Hearts got £9m for Craig Gordon in 2007, a British record for a GK when he joined Sunderland. It's about time the board play hard n step up the asking prices of our star players, £12.5m was a great bit of business for Wanyama but I feel other clubs outside the major leagues in Europe would've held out for £15m!
