Neil Lennon wants a quality striker. I found it interesting he said that there is room to break the wage structure slightly if necessary and that Celtic had to be "inventive" when moving for a striker. Possibly a player plus cash deal for Finnbogason?

I don't understand why if they are prepared to break the wage structure they didn't do this to keep Hooper for another season or to land Finbogasson in the close season. If this is the case and we are going to shell out on a striker in Jan, I'd be interested to see what it would take to get Steven Fletcher. {Ed007's Note - Hooper's decision to leave had nothing to do with money and I will be amazed if we spent any serious money in January.}

If we're not in Europe I doubt we'll see a decent signing at all. We "MIGHT" have "£2-3m" to spend in January, according to Lennon. That for me means we'll only see it spent if we're still in some sort of European competition; Otherwise we'll see hee haw.

Ed is right about Hooper's reasons for leaving the club but Lubos Laces hits it on the head for me. I was in the 'we haven't spent enough to adequately replace the players that have left' camp in the summer.

Now, as a result of our lack of ambition, we're going to have to spend as much as we should have spent originally, but on quantity rather than quality. We could possibly end up with 5 strikers, none of which are going to be the answer in taking us forward.

Agree with above comments with all the cash (approx £30 million left) why not use it to bring in a couple of bums on seats signings, why was it not done straightaway?who gets the money if not the team, I for one would love to know where this cash goes or has gone

In January, and indeed at any time, if we can't buy quality, we should leave the money in the bank for now. As for Bangura, 6 goals in 27 matches is not what we need.
