if Leighton Baines completes his move to Utd by monday surely everton can't bid if the deal isn't done? {Ed007's Note - The window only closes tonight on incoming transfers, players can still be sold until 23.00 on Monday. There are a couple of situations to keep an eye on, the Baines to Utd story but also if Arsenal follow up their interest and bid for Newcastle GK Tim Krull then Newcastle could bid to buy Forster back.}

Thanks ED

Why would celtic sell foster back to newcastle .when the window closes tonight .hence no replacement? {Ed007's Note - Have you not seen what Forster has said in the past and in the past few days? We have seen what can happen if a player makes up their mind it's time to move on.}

Well it looks like we are dun with new transfers let's just hope we don't sell no more players.

But we can still sign free agents up until the Champions League cut off yeah?

It seems a no brainer to go for Carlton Cole or Mladen Petric to bolster up front. You may bad mouth Cole but he has experience at high level, could lead the line and has decent quality. Petric, he would give experience and has a decent eye for goal. Dangle a a one yr contract (with possible extension) that will give them Champs League football plus at least one medal (let's be honest). They could both it either do a job.

Before anyone mentions wages, 2 things, they are free so that would offset higher wages and there would be defo be barter room anyway with them at this late stage.

Thoughts?

Cole probably wants 30k+ a week (championship clubs would even offer him that)

Ed I think there is NO WAY in hell Lenny would let Forster go in this window without being able to bring in another keeper. Forster can say what he likes it won't change the fact that he will be at Celtic for the foreseeable future whether he likes it or not. {Ed007's Note - Yeah because that works in this day and age. If a player wants out, he will leave. I am not saying he will be leaving and apart from Benfica no concrete bid have been made but never say never.}

Usually if someone's a free agent after the end of the window there's normally a very good reason for that - They're a greedy so-and-so who's not worth the money they're demanding or they have an injury prone track record.
