Timalloy.... Just watching the euros today got me thinking about ur earlier post about any chance of selling Sammy has now gone because of his performance etc .... Well I hope Ronaldo, Nani, Van Persie to name a few aint for sale because they were a million times worse than Sammy. I'm with Mrs E on this one i don't want to sell him. He gave more fight than most to make us champions and i for one will continue to support him so long as he pulls on the hoops i just wish others would too

PS - yes i remember the not interested, cant be bothered days but when can you honestly say was the last one ?

Gary

Believable12 Unbelievable3

Hi Gary, I respect you and Mrs E's opinion, but sadly I am still to be convinced, I think he will return to his "bad old ways" if still a Celtic player next season, no I still say sell him for anything near £3m+ Timalloy

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't mean any disrespect Tim but if your still to be convinced then what makes you think we would be able to get £3m+ for him?

Mikey Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Not goin to kid on here av never liked sami and never will his goal to game record speaks for its self. the panten provo has to go

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we should play samaras on the left next season that's where he had his best games IMO wot do folks think (trying to b politically correct mrs E lol)

Paulbhoy010

Agree0 Disagree0

Mikey its nothing to do with Sammys ability its merely the fact wee timmy has to have an opinion on absolutely everything so starts threads in the hope of agreement but if you view his regular posts you will actually see its all bluster and very few agree with any of the rubbish he types!

Agree0 Disagree0

Timalloy i'm not having a go mate, i've been reading and posting on here for a while and you obviously have a lot of good views and points but i just don't agree on this one mate. I think he could be a key player especially in Europe if we go five at the back and one up front. I totally agree he's unpredictable but sometimes that can work in your favour. I do hope we spend some money on a class striker but if we don't i'm confident Sammy wont let us down

Gary

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't sell him unless a ridiculous offer comes in and I wouldn't play him up front in the striker position. He does frustrate me something awful at times though ! Just my tuppance worth though Mrs E

Agree0 Disagree0

Have to agree wi Gary and mrs E think samaras could do a job for us especially against THEM hail hail

Agree0 Disagree0

To quote my lovely lady: "sammy's s**te always has been." done get him to...Italy?
NQJ

Agree0 Disagree0

If an offer comes I would take it. I love the guy as he knows what it means to play for Celtic but his first touch is awful and his goals to games ratio is terrible... Sorry sammy but it's time to go.

Agree0 Disagree0

Samaras was shockingly bad yesterday. he just looks like he scared at times. however he has the ability and in the next game could very well run riot.he is such a confidence player and needs to feel loved to perform his best. he had a couple of chances to run defenders the other night and seemed reluctant.if he was confident all the time he could be a world beater although the other nights performance wouldnt have got him a game with my pub team

Agree0 Disagree0

Listen the best way to answer this is to say we haven't had a bid for him yet, until then let's just wait and see what happens. He had a good end to the season and in my opinion he should be judged on that. Suggesting he will revert back to his old ways is unfair because who knows. Listen I was raging with the guy after the Ross county semi final and I had always disliked him before that so it's not that I'm a sammy fan, but credit were it's due he has reinvented himself at celtic and turned down moves away twice before because he obviously loves the club. Why else would he stay after the pelters he has took from his own fans (me included). I would keep him for now unless someone bid 3 million plus. Which I'm confident no one will.based on his recent form for Celtic he should get another season. I only say take 3 million plus because that would be almost 3 times what we paid for him and would be good business.

Agree0 Disagree0

If any offer comes in above £2m I would jump at it. Happy enough to have him in the squad but he's not a regular starter for me unless he starts showing some consistency...

Iain

Agree0 Disagree0

To say 'sammy's s**te always has been'...is complete nonsense. His attitude is probably the biggest issue.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hate when Celtic supporters slate there players, big Sammi can be excellent for us, easy target to slag for sum fans, his first touch is terrible? He can take a ball on the chest fae a punt out, he's a Celtic player get behind him , thts when he plays his best football, remember he's only 27 best years ahead of him

Agree0 Disagree0

If that's what ur basing being a Celtic player on is "having a no bad end to the season" u are as deluded as them across the road, consistency is a thing u need to play for Celtic, so with your way of thinking commons should stay as well?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he has very little confidence in his ability and if he starts a game badly then it's downhill from there.
He can be unplayable some weeks and then hesitant and 'a man short' the next.
He reminds me of Tommy Callaghan a bit and to a lesser extent 'Big Yogi' although Yogi was capable of winning games on his own and scored many a cracking goal.
I always think if we can replace such players with a much better one - then it's no contest.

JJ

Agree0 Disagree0

Can run teams ragged 1 week next week looks as if he has never seen a ball before

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok as you all already know im a Sam fan .... to me he's an important link between mid and forwards ... more so than any on his day out and out winger ... his all round game will be needed and NL whom has been slagged by so called Celtic fans knows about football ... CASH IN ON THE WINGERS keep the brains ... TTTS

Agree0 Disagree0

Its gotten to the point i just say "oh dr jekyll is playing today" or when hes off form i say "ah mr hyde is on the wing there"
moments of pure breathtaking skill
moments of pure breathtaking horror
but he is ours
and if lenny plays him then ill keep the faith HH

Info about new home kit launch.

As part of the Home kit launch this year we have included a charitable element to the campaign called 'Share your Shirt'. Due to the Club's charitable roots we decided to come up with a way for fans to donate an old replica jersey for charities in Africa. When you pre order or buy the new jersey, if you bring along an old Celtic jersey (needs to be in reasonable condition and laundered) we will give you a t-shirt worth £15 for free, or kids alternative worth £10 ( jersey must be donated when the customer comes to collect the new top and t-shirt will be given out at this point.
I still don't have a date yet but should be known hopefully this week.

Believable6 Unbelievable19

Did he not just sign for spurs in January

hail hail

Marco1888

Agree0 Disagree0

He was released from spurs after 6 month deal ran out

Agree0 Disagree0

They sent him packing didnt help he pi$$ed off the spurs fans by saying well done to chel$ki on winning the champions leauge

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldn't take either for my Sunday League team. Silly Season is underway. Me and my mates spoke about potential players but the doesn't mean it's going to happen.

VictorsGonnaeGetYou

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally I think Saha is a world class striker but is never fit enough for what we would require. Nelsen is a strong commanding centre back who would do a great job in the hoops but I doubt we would pay the wages for either, they must be both on 40k+ a week.

Celtstu

Agree0 Disagree0

Will be devastated if both of those wasters sign for us. saha was good at one time but not anymore. would be happy if we never signed another player from the pr£££miership unless it was a real top quality player

On a few sites that Celtic are looking at Keith Andrews, don't think he is as good as what we already have at the club.
DG81

Believable14 Unbelievable11

He is not a young and up and coming player, but he is a good solid player, who plays most games and scores alot of goals from midfield and gives us experience!!! Not on high wages, so yes I woul take a chance on him!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

I had seen a lot on k.andrews when he played at mk dons. He was a great player then. Trickycelt!

Agree0 Disagree0

Lazy journalism, shock horror he plays for ireland

Agree0 Disagree0

Not good enough ........TTTS

Agree0 Disagree0

Might be to cover for ki and wanyama being sold if todays papers are to be believed

Agree0 Disagree0

Decent player and would do a job. Helped WBA in last half of season. BETTER THAN GATTUSO!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Andrews is a great midfielder and we would be priviledeged to have him

Agree0 Disagree0

Not as good as what we have. So no thanks.

Agree0 Disagree0

The rugby team moved at the end of last season and Thistle were looking at ways of increasing turnover and i guess this could be it.

Seen back page of Re&&rd in shop "I want out Wanyama " so had to gon their website . Scoop Guidi is up there with Traynor , Jackson , Duncan,King etc as morons with a typewriter . Some of the story is just pure fantasy : Wanyamas pedigree has risen in serie A because of his brother: What!.I suppose I should just ignore it as its the time of the year that these stupid stories come out . They've done it with Hooper , Kayal , Izzy , Young James , god they done it with Henrik every pre season . It really is the worst form of " journalism " and it always comes from the Usual Suspects ........DH

Believable23 Unbelievable4

That article in the DR made laugh to. I couldn't understand that line either, the one about his stock rising in Serie A because of his brother. How in the name of f**k is that even applicable? I have three brothers (a chef, a taxi driver and a plasterer) but I can't rustle up a steak dinner behind the wheel of a car while at the same time sticking a render coat on the windscreen. I can't even drive to be begin with!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Going by Matt Mc Glone on tw*tter ,he reckons its Wayama's agent who contacted the gutter rag ,stirring the pot and trying to unsettle the lad...and only to happy to obledge without any back up, enter the churnilists of brothers Grimm porpotions...Celtic should refuse to deal with this agent until it suits them ,his client is tied to a contract for the next 3 years and when the time arrives to cash in only then ......TTTS

Agree0 Disagree0

Simple solution, don't buy or read. if more people stopped reading it would not exist, let me guess no named quotes ? a source said, we understand etc , usual garbage

Agree0 Disagree0

I like Wanyama but, if someone wants to pay big money for him then we should sell him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Might be the agent trying to get him a better deal, which i believe he should get not massive increase, but one which reflects his input last season, give him an incentive to improve again next season and then he can look at the big bucks. I think any young player at Celtic should stay at us and get european games under their belts for a few seasons, they will benifit when they move on and so will we. maccabhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

I would rather see us sell Ki. Wanayama might get starting for us!

Although, I think the Daily Ranger are making up another load of rubbish!

Agree0 Disagree0

We should sign his brother theyd be like the bash bros in mighty ducks

best save up some cash tho

According to today's Herald, Celtic are interested in Swedish defender Mattias Bjarsmyr. He's apparantely in dispute with Panathinaikos over unpaid wages. He's 26 and seemed to be linked with Rangers a couple of seasons ago. He's not in the Euro Sweden squad.... Mrs E

Believable16 Unbelievable3

I watched him at the u21 European championships years back, same Sweden side that had toivonen and Marcus berg. Bjarmsyr was outstanding for them and I was sure he would go on to be a star. We were noted with an interest then, but nothing come of it. He needs to get his career back on track and maybe he could fulfil his potential at Celtic! My only concern would be that we need someone proven and experienced and for right now not a project that may or may not bear fruit. I would go for him though, solely based on how good he looked when I seen him those years back.

Okay so the DR is up to it's usual nonsense. Wanyama apparently away in the summer to the Premiership, sourced by an unnamed "friend" and alleged discussions with internatnal team mates. How does this even pass the lowest threshold for journalism?

Unless anyone knows differently, yet anther example of muckraking nonsense, but what else should we expect!

Believable16 Unbelievable7

What do you expect from this Labour rag of a so-called newspaper they always want to see Celtic in crisis headlines

Alright Ed how u doing bud? what's the score with David templeton can we sign him now on a bosman? really hope the board will back lennon this time, i would love to see us sign Rhodes, templeton, Henrikson, and a good cb, and if we get shot of Bangura we could take a pop at daly. what do u think Ed?

BarryBhoy {Ed007's Note - Templeton has another year on his contract...}

Believable3 Unbelievable7

Would take templeton but also Andrew driver he has been unlucky with injuries but is a cracking player on his game.

Agree0 Disagree0

2 average squad players at best not good enough for champs league

Agree0 Disagree0

Driver too injury prone, templeton cant even get in hearts team ffs

Agree0 Disagree0

Templeton come on guys eh be serious here and driver you will be lucky to get 10 games a season out him. mikeybhoy27

Agree0 Disagree0

None of then any better than we already have. Daly slower than a week in the jail.
Tambhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Templeton? Do u think he is good enough for Celtic? Average player in an average team!

Bishypaul

Agree0 Disagree0

Where would Templeton and Henrickson fit in to the Celtic midfield ahead of Brown,Kayal,Ledley,Wanyama,Ki,Forrest and Commons? If we go with 3 at the back those 7 are fighting for 3 places.

Agree0 Disagree0

I went to school with David templeton since primary 3 and the reason he was left out the hearts team was because he rejected a move away! So not because he wasn't good enough to get in the hearts team!

Agree0 Disagree0

Update on this story from Matt McGlone on Tw*tter:

(1) The background to the Wanyama scare story in the DR today is the agent contacted Celtic informing them that HE had interests in Victor..

(2) from other clubs and that HE wished to move the player on. Celtic informed the agent that Victor had 3 years of his current contract....
(3) still to run&they had NO intention of listening to offers or selling Victor. This story was deliberately given to the DR to unsettle him

Quotes directly from Tw*tter.

I wonder if Mark Guidi would care to respond, or if spreading a rumour from an agent unconnected with the player in attempt to wrangle a deal passes for quality sports journalism.

Agree0 Disagree0

Please give this John Daly and Leon Best nonsense a rest , we want the team to get better for goodness sake .
