Just read online that the Zenit game has just taken on even more importance.
It seems as things stand we will be unseeded for the final qualifying CL round, assuming we negotiate the other rounds naturally, however even a draw in either leg of the Zenit game will propel Celtic back into the seeded teams.
So at very least we need to draw at Celtic Park next week COYBIG.

Tim this mob from eufa have made it a closed shop it's ridiculous what the smaller nations champions have to endure so early in the season. It won't happen but a would love it if the club's out with the big 4 nations pulled out and let them get on with it.

Well, we really tooled up to give it a go in the window. Didn’t we? To save a few bob we have jeopardised up to £40m.

A draw at least in the home leg should have been the goal. I don’t think we improved the defence at all and with injuries, could be worse than the formation who were found wanting in the cl.

If we fail to get the one draw and lose out on qualification, we will, yet again, have shot ourselves in the head.

We need to refind the form against Hearts, if we do I think we can get the point we need. It will be harder than it should have been, but, we are all used to that by now.

The rule for that game is to keep Kokorin quiet. I’m sure we will take something from them at Celtic park.

A draw at parkhead? Am I the only one who actually fancies a win at home at least? Positive thinking lads n lassies!

Think we will beat them at home too, nothing special, as u say mo we should and could have been going into the gsme with a stronger side although i do like the look of commper who won't play unfortunately.

If we play like we did at home against Bayern we’ll beat them. If we play like we did at home against Anderlecht we won’t. It depends on how much belied our players have, especially after their pride taking a couple of big hits against PSG.

It’s all about how we take them on. If Musonda can turn it on and we manage to get out of the neutral we got stuck in on Saturday then we have a chance of a draw.

I don’t know where the confidence is supposed to come from as we have been mostly poor this season. The defence is always our Achilles heel and I think we have done feck all to improve it. Hendry wouldn’t get in before Boyata on his Saturday performance where he exhibited bombscare tendencies too.

Going for the cheapskate option once again leaves us no better than we started defensively wise. Which is criminal and potentially our undoing. Who knew the board would baulk at spending money on quality? I actually believed they would for once do it right.

Never again, a board of cheapskate spivs till the end.

Magic zenit are in the el for a reason they may be better than us but stop being so pessimistic man we might just beat them.

On paper I'm looking at the fit squad and it's not the best. I'm hoping we just get stuck in. It's one of those games where the worst could happen or big Eddie and the moose play a blinder and mcgregor gets motm in a 3-1 scintillator;) . I'll not go into outcome B.
I couldn't name any of thier first 11 and i couldn't tell you a single thing about thier form or how they play. There aren't many on here that could hold a half decent conversation with a fan of russian football about that league. The money is definitely there as are the wages and good sides are built from that. The other part that isn't taken into account is the money bump for players moving to that league. These guys are no mugs but we have palyed better teams to get to the same place they are now.
Time for bed :)

I had absolu convinced myself we would get players of quality in the help the defence. To be honest I’m more pissed off at myself for believing.

As I said though, we play with the same tenacity and skill we showed against Hearts we have a chance. I just know that we could have been better prepared and another opportunity has been missed. The news about perhaps meeting a seeded team if we fail to get a point just out the tin hat on my frustration.

I have learned a lesson though. Nothing changes no matter who is in charge. That shocked me.

Can’t wait til Thursday

If we beat Zenit which I highly doubt even with there break then a lot of posters can relish in there confident predictions however if Zenit win and if they win comfortably then please be quick to apologise to those voicing there concerns at the season of regression.

Anyone else seen Dundee to sign Caulker? Surely he would have been worth a punt for 6 months at least to see how he done .

Might be time to try the old 442 again Rich T? With the setup of every team we face now domestically we are outnumbered in mf it seems. With three players playing in front of two there is zero space or support. There is litteraly no-one playing in the centre circle. Every game I watch. If the ball is squeezed out to the wings it takes us an eternity to carry the ball forward.

I would start the same team who played against Hearts. Moussa needs support. We need Kouassi in there to dig in and try to nullify their midfield threat.

At the back, it’s a toss up of a variation of players we are not fully confident can defend to a level we need. I think Rogers will put in Hendry, it would be a strange one if even he didn’t think he could cut it as his only cb signing who can actually play.

Hopefully if he does, he repays what Rogers saw in him. He has to because we need at least a point in this tie or we go into the cl qualifiers with the prospect of being drawn against a seeded team.

If the defence sells the jerseys this tie, and only those in possession of the thickest green specs don’t think that is a real possibility, then the responsibility is wholly Rogers for being in this position after four transfer windows squandered to sort it.

A combination of loss of form, injuries and the same vulnerable defence mean we go into this tie in probably the worst shape we have been since Rogers took over.

I can’t see him playing Charlie from the start, as he will need time to find his feet as he has been ineffective so far. We need at least a point and I will be happy if we achieve that as a first step. Play the way we can and I would be confident of that, but we haven’t played that way often enough. Hopefully this could be the game to return to and maintain our form for the rest of the season. Conversely, if we get taken to the cleaners, it will dent confidence even more and sets up a nervy run in to secure another Treble.

To be in a position where Aberdeen and Sevco genuinely believe they have a chance of beating us at their maddens shows us clearly how poor we have been. We should be out of sight of them with the resources at our disposal. What gives them real hope is the undeniable fact our defence can be got at. Couple this with us stalling mid to front and you can see if our form continues they are right. They do have a chance, two pish teams fancying their chances says everything about how we have stalled yet again in true Celtic fashion.

Rangers have improved, they are still on paper nowhere near us, but games aren’t won on paper and our players need a rocket up their arse to let them know that. It’s time they stood up and played the way they can. The sideways and back pattern of play is down to players having no confidence to beat a man and run at defences with speed and good passing. Against Hearts we saw this in spades. We need it back on Thursday. Then every game after that.
