I think Neil Lennon deserves credit for being ruthless in his team selection. Izzaguire is a fantastic player, and everyone was delighted when he came back from injury. To let izzy play every game would have been the easy thing to do, but Lenny knows izzy needs more time and can't be trusted at the moment. Now with the defence racking up clean sheets, izzy will have to be at his best to get back in. The competition for places is really healthy for the club, and our manager is growing into the job superbly.

Hi
Have heard a rumour........just a rumour mind you that the FTT has reached a verdict against them. I heard that there is now a 3 week period before publication. Anyone else heard this or is the person who told me just getting my hopes up?

Hi Ed
I know Marc Crosas has joined the Mexican team we're partnered with (Santos Laguna?) Do you think we'll ever see him back playing for us? He's still a young lad and he had an eye for a pass. HH
pfb79 {Ed007's Note - I would seriously doubt it.}

His Tweets alone are worth 7M.

Lenny

read your post over at the Temple of Doom page re aluko

Ed might back me up on this
there is three championship clubs showing interest in offering him a deal.

Lubo25 {Ed007's Note - I know there is interest in him from down south, I'm not 100% sure but I think two of them were Ipswich and Derby (that is just off the top of my head though.)

Hi ed,not a rumour but does every season ticket holder get a chance to get league cup final tickets? {Ed007's Note - Yes if you have entered the ballot and cup/away game scheme.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If you bought a ticket for the semi you will get one for the final

hi ed, did rogne pick up a knock or get injured lat night or do you think it was just a rest for the bhoy and to give big dan a run out? rogne has been outstanding since he returned hope he can stay injury free though. {Ed007's Note - I think it was just to get Majstorovic some game time.}

Believable2 Unbelievable1

He posted on his Twitter last night he had a tight muscle so just came off as a precocion, says he will be fine for Sat.

Raff {Ed007's Note - Cheers Raff.}

Evening Ed. Just wondering if you have any inside info on what is happening with us signing big Fraser Forster ? I thought that getting the big man on a contract was one on Lennon's main priorities and expected him to be signed up a couple of weeks back. All seems to have gone quiet..... not liking it. {Ed007's Note - He can be signed at any time, it doesn't need to be a transfer window. Because a permanent deal is part of the terms of the loan deal it can be triggered at any time (Hooiveld signed for Southampton in December because of the same thing). I would think talks at some level will be ongoing about Forster.}

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Think the big man will listen to offers from down south i think before he signs a thing. either way would snap up kello at hearts for either 1st or 2nd choice.

lenny {Ed007's Note - It depends if any team down south will pay NUFC's asking price and the fee to buy CFC's options on the player. The £2 million fee is exclusive to CFC. NUFC can ask for £5 million from other teams but if Forster agrees personal terms with CFC then we only pay £2 million.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Correct me if i am wrong but i was of the understanding that his contract at newcastle ran out at the end of the season. could this be a cause for the delay and the unwillingness to fork out the 2million?

Evinguu {Ed007's Note - 30th June 2014 his NUFC contract is up buddy.}

09 Feb 2012 20:04:19
just a wee question,if they go into admin or better liquidation,is that their 1873 history forked? bri67 {Ed007's Note - If they enter liquidation they lose their history. Administration could mean any trophies won during the 'dodgy' era would be noted in some way in the record books.}

Believable3 Unbelievable3

This is the first time - as a Rangers supporter - that I have been on your site. I find it very sad that you would hope Rangers entered liquidation. Where would you be as a football club without the rivalry that has existed for over 100 years? Or are you one of these moronic clowns - who exist on both sides of the old firm - that fill sites such as these with mindless - and irrational - crap?

On Radio Scotland now, Cousin's agent is saying the slum dwellers are offering him 5K a week. {Ed007's Note - They offered him 7k then contacted them again to offer 5k. Cousin's agent is having 'problems' contacting Whyte, Birmingham are also said to be ready to offer a contract to Cousin.}

Believable3 Unbelievable1

ED007 if Cousin does not sign, would that make him a cousin "twice removed?" (Ouch) Timalloy

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed007 that was hilarious, whyte ran out of credit apparently, loved how no one on the show picked up on that one

whats this about them owing money for tht celik player could they end up losing him ed and also how can they affor to pay cousin any wages think it all just to look like there trying to sign players not that he wid make a diffrence. Got to say we looked the part last nite and with the strength in depth and all at good age things r looking bright for future
dezybhoy {Ed007's Note - GAIS are due training compensation within 30 days of Celik signing for them. If this is not paid the player could be recalled back to GAIS and UEFA would probably impose sanctions on Rangers.}

Believable8 Unbelievable2

Things just ge better and better for them lol glad to hear ur niece is recovering {Ed007's Note - Thanks you.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Big shock, rangers not paying for something again. set of free loading money hungry minks.

Agree0 Disagree0

He can't be called back to them he was out of contract. they did not own his registration.

but they are still intitled to there money.

so i dont know what will happen . and could something happen in terms of the games he played .

Agree0 Disagree0

If it's a possibility I'd laugh my fat backside off if he got recalled.

Would just pile on the embarassment to a level I'd have thought prior to this season unimaginable.

Sure, the SPL as a whole may be laughed at down south but let's face it it's not exactly held in high regard anyway. {Ed007's Note - It might be a shitty league but CFC are 10th, Rangers 14th in Europe for their financial matchday revenue. Man City are 18th as a gauge.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I wonder if this is why they are trying to rush through the Cousin deal... or could any sanctions placed on them include any signings made after Celik are unable to play?

JD {Ed007's Note - I would think there would surely be sanctions.}

Also to address to manager of the month deal with craig brown getting it, it's no big deal the SFA have got to give it to the wee teams every now and then as Lenny could basicslly have had it for five months straight now. So don't get to peed aff about it bhoys we know the real deal, I'm sure Lenny isn't raging about this one guys so why would any of us need to?
CB

Believable8 Unbelievable0

Lennon has been class but look at what he now has at his disposal with players returning from injury. His tactics could be completely wrong and we'd probably still win most of these games.

Craig Brown deserves credit for the work he's done at Aberdeen in the past few months. Before Xmas I'd have tipped them to go down and fans were calling for his head but they've managed to string a decent set of results together in the league and now look very comfortable mid-table. Credit where credit's due - remarkable turn around.

09 Feb 2012 13:40:33
Can anyone explain why Craig Brown is the manager of the month for January?

What is the criteria for this award?

Believable3 Unbelievable6

Not at all sure, though I believe that the award is made by a "media panel"m though I have no idea of the constitution of it.

Although I think it probably won't annoy him, how does anyone better Neil Lennon's record of late?

Agree0 Disagree0

Not sure if it's a coincidence or not but going back to 2000 and no-one has won it more than 2 months in a row... Could be a sponsor's stipulation to stop it from becoming boring?

Celtic fans sing I just can't get enough

Rangers fans sing don't stop believing

Back to last night. Loved Neil lennons interview after it, Neil mccan saying do you worry about bids from Russia for hopper for stokes.... Well they lost dani for 24m euros so the bidding can start there. Don't get me wrong every player has a price but it's good to show other teams we mean business unlike rangers who bite the hand off the 1st deal that's put in writing. Don't think we will have the same team in the summer however after spending 10m on what we have got already I believe we can find replacements as & when required.

Nothing won yet & I think Lennon has that drilled into them for so after last year.

Lenny

Believable13 Unbelievable3

Hi,

Any chance of posting the link to the interview? I've only found a brief one on the bbc website?

Thanks

I have always been a big critic of Broony and Sammy as well, but credit is due to the both of them recently, Broony especially has been immense.His celebration in front of the diets tonight was brilliant. p.s i would still sell the pair of them for a good offer though. Broony 3mill, Sammy 125,000
paddybhoy

Believable5 Unbelievable25

Big sammy for 125k?

aye, ok paddy....he might not wade in with the goals, but he's been like a new signing this season, and definitely worth more than 125k

taco

Agree0 Disagree0

I, too, was always a critic of both these players. I agree that Brown has been sensational and Samaras has been good in doses, he still does blow hot and cold. If Lennon could add consistency to Sammy's game he'd be terrifying. Your valuations are poor though

Agree0 Disagree0

That's right we'll now sell Brown for less than we paid because he's playing well.

Agree0 Disagree0

Brown has failed in the past to live up to his price tag and I have been a critic but I must say since he's come back into the team and last night against Hearts he's become invaluable.

His energy, drive, determination and all round play has been sensational and I applaud him. Lenny said he's now free of little niggles and we're seeing him at his best.

25 and his best years as Celtic captain are ahead of him.

1st name on the team sheet for me now.

Come May he'll lift the title as we all do the Broonie

Richybhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

I've never been a critic

Agree0 Disagree0

Em....lets try Broony 8 million and Sammy 4 million. Think thats a bit more realistic.

The bhoys were outstanding all over park the night finally i think we got a squad that wil rule for years. Even my english pals who watched game were impressred. An the shame givin brozek grief he showed more movment in 15 min than that wee ned healy has in a whole career. The future is bright the future is celtic. Ynwa and in lennon we trust
