Just watched the highlights of yesterdays game, Wilson and Ambrose are ball watchers, they get sucked to the ball all the time, i hope lennon buys a right good central defender this transfer window,

i wonder if ferdinand(Rio) would fancy making one last move???

God some people are never happy, we have found ourselves a consistent centre back pairing

Agree1 Disagree0

After big Vic I think Wilson has been our most consistent player so far this season. Efe in my eyes anyway is only going to get better, I think him and Wilson go well together and it's the best pairing we've had at the back in a long time

Bman

Agree1 Disagree0

God some people are easily pleased, i am just looking to get the team improved and that position is the position that needs most improving, think about it

Maestro08

Agree0 Disagree1

For me ambrose is very over rated, constantly gets caught out of position yes hes got good feet etc but hes not the finished article when it comes to defending i think wilson makes him look a better player only my own opinion whats other peoples thoughts - MM

Agree0 Disagree1

I can't believe anyone would complain about any of our defenders. Love Efe and Kelvin Wilson is doing great. Anyone else think they'd prefer Big Dan? How about Caldwell? I like our back four. If they were all fit i wouldnt even play Izzy. I'd have Matthews and Lustig on.

Aint broke. Dont fix.

Melb Bhoy.

Agree1 Disagree0

I understand your point of view melboy but i think ambrose would maybe be a better player in central midfield a wouldnt take him out of defence and replace wanyama, but i think if we lose wanyama he would be a good replacement in midfield and we could get a more solid replacement in defence

Agree0 Disagree0

I think that you are thinking like that cause you only seen the highlights, which show Ambrose make a mistake and the goal Killie scored. I watched the full match on saturday and the whole team looked awesome, including the three centre backs, which included Charlie, in a new 3-2-3-2 formation.

I think your picking holes in players and a position that has improved incredibly over the past year, I say that the centre back area has definitely been our most improved position, its great to have two centre backs, or maybe even three if you include Charlie, who are mobile and can show good pace and strength in that position.

I think your just plain wrong with this, but I wouldn't be against the idea of getting an other similar centre back, to beef us up a bit cause we only have Rogne back on, and he isnt exactly mobile or fast. {Ed007's Note -

Agree1 Disagree0

Messi the best striker ever { just surpassed muller} is it 86 so far this calendar year . managed one in 180 minutes against our defence , stop moaning for no reason . big kelvin gets better all the time , and efe will do for me. shammy

The days of signing 30+ star names are no more mate. Why top up someones pension fund?
Big Ambrose will get even better and then leave for a fee that will be re-invested - like every player in our team will do, at some point...................no more has-beens for me................kbt1978

Agree1 Disagree0

I don't see the panic with our defence, wilson has been our best defender this season...and who would have thought we'd be saying that after last season...Efe is decent in my book, but he looks to take to many chances in the wrong areas of the pitch, think back to the killie game at CP...his dilly dallying cost us to lose a goal, and I'm sure it was the same the week after..he started off well but now and again when he has the ball I get that feeling I got when big dan or glenda had the ball at their feet, and we all know what the feeling was.

Shugthetim82

Agree1 Disagree0

Think of the mess our defence was in before efe ambrose signed , we were leeking goals all over the place, and its not a coincidence wilsons a better defender now

Agree1 Disagree0

What we now have are two speedy centre halves, but for big guys are not particularly good in the air. We must be the only team who don't put their centre halves up for corners. In addition Mulgrew takes them, as he can't jump. On saying all this I think Wilson has been having a very good season and some of his tackles have been excellent, especially against Barcelona.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes I have noticed Ambrose getting caught out of position and giving the ball away a few times in games; But think back to our early season form when Lustig, Wilson and Izzy were really out of sorts and what a transformation in defense we have now.
They have all improved dramatically, not to mention a transformed Fraser Forster;
Ambrose will get better - or failing that - we have Matthews, Mulgrew or even Vic to step in and do the job. No need to worry IMO.
I think we may need a creative midfielder and of course replacements for anyone leaving in the January window (if any?).

Jungle Jim

Agree0 Disagree0

Jeez some people, were you watching some of the bomb scare pairings we have had in those positions ? These are the guys who were good enough to get us into the last 16 of the CL...get a grip mate. Or would you rather see McManus and Caldwell back ? or Olivier Tebily/Rafael Scheidt etc etc

Agree1 Disagree0

Maestro, I agree. I honestly don't rate Wilson, watches the ball, slow as a week in the jail and turns like the #13 bus. He is good at putting his ample frame in front of the ball when he is standing in the right place and putting his noggin on the ball when he happens to get his positioning right.

Would like to see Rogne stay fit for longer than 10 minutes. Think he has the potential to be quality.

My opinions of course.

MgC

Agree0 Disagree1

Looks like some people are happy to settle, i personally would like to see an experienced central defender who can lead, take responsibility not scared to dish out a bollocking and young defenders can learn from,

Maestro08

Agree1 Disagree0

Rio Ferdinand is the most over rated player ever to grace a football field!

Agree2 Disagree0

Did u miss the 2 barcelona games mate, the 2 centre backs have been brillant this campaign

Agree1 Disagree0

Whoever said Wilson was slow needs there heads examined or really needs to get to a few games. He's been brilliant this season. Do agree we could do with an extra centre half tho and creative midfield player.

Quick question to Ed- or anyone who may know.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist, nor am I one for agenda's etc- but is there any reason the Record hasn't ran any story about JT's move to Ibrox?

I can't find it anywhere, nor can I find it on the Scottish Sun. I know BBC has ran the story, I just find it very odd that neither national rag has mentioned it.

Obviously, if I'm mistaken, then someone direct me!

The Patient

Believable33 Unbelievable1

Buddy , i honestly couldn't give a flying f*** why that person moved to ibrokes . a match made in hell maybe . he will probably lose his job when they go back into admin before the end of this season . shammy

Agree0 Disagree0

Shammy- totally agree with the sentiment, and as someone said yesterday (tongue firmly in cheek) he's not moved jobs, just offices.

That said, I'm asking more out of curiosity- as I found it strange that I couldn't find any stories in those papers about it. (and that made me think there may be something behind it)

As I said above, I don't even mean anything nefarious- it was just strange!

The Patient

Agree0 Disagree0

It was coming for a while. why do you think for the last few months all his column inches supported sevco . he was just endearing himself to the knuckle draggers before the move . so telling mugs what they want to swallow swallow is not journalism , it is cheating your employer by telling lies . if you ask me he should hand back all the wages he got from the daily ranger since probalby september. it started around then.. shamy {Ed007's Note - He was supposedly 'recommended' for a (the) job during the summer, that speaks volumes about it all.}

Agree0 Disagree0

It's on the sevco website with a photo of him shaking hands with Scotland's biggest liar Chico Glints Green.
It says he doesn't start his position until the new year.
They need to await some mugs buying shares to pay his salary. Have you analysed the prospectus? They're stoney broke.

Agree1 Disagree0

Probably because its not news lol

9.40 STV tonight and you will see Neil Lennon win the Sunday Mail Editor's award for Celtic's outstandind contribution to Scottish Sport :-)

Mrs E

Davie Provan gets ripped into him in his column in the paper today. Calls him David Murrays "poodle" lol

lennon says brown had injection, brown says no, whos telling the truth?

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Maybe lenny said'' go get your injections'' , broony thought na dinny need them. nobody told lenny. if you are reduced to finding faults like this, thats sad.. broony needs an operation on his hip, fact. it is a gamble .do you have it now and maybe not be properly healed for last sixteen. or do you rest when needed and use pain relief to get you through the season , and then get the operation in june . personally i'd do what we are doing , nurse him along till june .. shammy

Agree0 Disagree0

either someone is telling lies between them or there has just been a mistake. personally i doubt if the injury is as bad as is being made out to be. i dont see any reason as to why he has not had the op yet because as i said earlier you have adequate cover in midfield with wanyama mulgrew ledley and kayal while kris commons has played central midfield before. i have no doubt he has a problem but i doubt it is anything like as serious as being made out.

Agree0 Disagree0

Who cares grow up,.,.kbarry

Agree0 Disagree0

OP Where did you find that out ?.
Tambhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

It's a degenerative injury he has which means that the pain can and most likely will come and go, he will have spells where he will feeling nothing at all.

Jamie mac

Agree0 Disagree0

Communication problem. Maybe club doc told Lenny he was gonnae gie broony the needle but changed his mind.

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe this! Maybe that! eff off back to your own page with your conspiracy's,.,.kbarry

Agree0 Disagree0

Lenny when asked about his captains injury and form said "I couldn't tell you the last time he had an injection, probably about ten days to a fornight ago"

Brown got fed up of answering questions about his injury barked " I didn't have an injection before the game"

So no-one is lying to seperate answers to seperate questions

Agree0 Disagree0

Kbarry your the biggest poster on rangers roumers so whats your point

Agree0 Disagree0

Aw ah no is the doctur says "yul jist feel a little prick?"

Ed whats your thoughts on Marc janko hitting his peak and is a provan goal scorer with a low price tag could be worth a shout ?

Kieran {Ed007's Note - He has had his chances to come, so unless he will play for £10 a week for a year I don't want him now.}

Hi everybody.. anyone heard of any transfer rumours recently?

Believable0 Unbelievable5

Paddy to crystal palace in january 650,000 .. dont shoot the messenger shammy

Agree0 Disagree0

I still think if we brought in Faddy as an SPL backup player we might have done better in SPL. Losing at home to Killie and Inverness, 57 year record and never beaten by inverness since 1888 was painful. {Ed007's Note - McFadden would just be a liability, he has hardly played in the last couple of years, there will always be serious questions about his fitness.}

Agree0 Disagree0

You are spot on never lost to ict since 1888 . they formed in 1994 . shammy

Agree1 Disagree0

Russell 2m
Austin 2.5m
Ben Nugent 1m

Maybe 1 player Lennon has wanted for a wile but I think get victor and hoopers contract sorted

Progress to the last 8 or higher will help us get a spot in group stages not next year but the year after and with the new fair play rules coming in and are owner has hit a dimond mine in the artic I can see us becoming like spartack getting champions league football every year if this new league idea for the spl works and with Scotland's youth policy scottish football may be able to put out a good product

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope ur not talking about the burnley striker? 2.5? They have put a hefty price tag on him as english prem clubs are watching him...he won't go for less than 5, I'm certain I seen somewhere 10m being mentioned, could be wrong about the 10m thing but I know 2.5 won't be the starting bid, and russell be more along the 2.5-3m mark with add-ons.

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe the papers are trying to make a story saying 10mil but they would take 2.5 for Austin maybe 3mil but if we progress in the champ league then these players. Will jump at the chance for a crack at it next year

Just had to say with all the records being rewritten in cl for a Scottish club another one is added to the list with Celtic making 20 coefficent points more so then any other. Good news keeps on coming, what a great year for it to be 125 years running.

Believable9 Unbelievable5

09 Dec 2012 11:54:05
what is going on at celtic with this scott brown injury i dont think it is anyway near as bad as people are making out and think lenny and scott brown need to get their stories sorted out because you have lennon saying brown had an injection for it and then brown throws his toys out the pram by saying he has not had one for a long time and storming off like a little baby.

if the injury was that bad then he would have had surgery by now because your fully equipped in midfield to cover for him with kayal ledley wanyama and also mulgrew can play in midfield.

anyway quick thought about who you want in the next round of the champions league your best chance of progressing would be to be drawn against shalke they had a good start to the bundesliga but they have been poor lately and i reckon that's the best draw you can hope for. people are saying malaga no way would that be good they are playing well at the moment and despite there financial problems they still have a pretty good squad.

Agree0 Disagree0

Germany or spain in february ? i'll look out my shorts and t-shirts . i really doesn't matter who we get. they are all hard and we will struggle for a possitive result. and you can mock all you want but NONE of them will be confident going to paradise . ask barca , or any of the other 20 that have not won there.. shammy
