Speaking wit a friend tonight who is an agent and he said the problem with celtic at the monment is we dont have the fund available to bring the players in .
Its not the fee's it more like the wages .
Lennon wants rid of 10 players from our squad.
Players i heard were.
1. Hooiveld
2. Josh Thompson.
3. and one i hate to say McCourt.
4. Rasmussen.
5. Murphy.
6. Cha du-ri
7. Cervi
That's all i was told who Lennon wanted out .
Also Everton have no intrests in any of Celtic's Players and have made no contact over any players.
Hooper , Kayal , Brown , Commons , Ledley , won't be leaving the club as all players are not for sale.
It just puzzles me that we have no money after the money we made last season with the sales of mcgeady , borac , McManus , and our wage budget being lower that the past few seasons. and i know that money coming in covered the loss of champions league money but my season book has went up another £50 this season and our season books have gone up so that's a lot more money to the club.
so what money do we have.

The reason you dont understand why the club cant buy more players is because you have no idea how a club is run.With the best will in the world even if Celtic have sold McGeady, Boruc, McManus, McDonald, Robson and let a few fringe players leave they still had to buy Hooper, Stokes, Ki, Commons and give big signing on bonuses to the bosmans like Wilson, Ledley and Matthews.
The club have a massive wage bill and they have Lennoxtown to run as well as Parkhead.

I know where you are coming from but do we want everyone to know what our budget is? do we want them to be able to inflate the prices on mediocre players cause they know we have a few quid left? Keep the cards close and dont blow everything like Rangers did by telling the media they had £15million. We will sign a Keeper before end of August and probably a striker from England once their 25 man squads are named. We play in a financially poor league and need to keep the money we have for the right players. Ship out the players with no hope of getting in first then strengthen.

Mate, no champions league revenue for the last 3 seasons. Our revenue is down my about 10% and most people arn't buying season tickets due to to the global crisis, so most clubs are going to suffer cause of this. We need to ship out the fringe players to make money and don't forget. Celtic's debt stands at £10 million so they are trying to reduce that, never mind bring players in. And besides ah don't think we need alot of players like shane long or craig bellamy. I think we have a decent team and just because rangers have been linked with a number of players dosn't mean we should be linked with a number of players
It just goes to show how important participation in the Champions league is. Uefa cup is a nothing competition financially. We havn't qualified for Europe for a few years now and this is why we arn't spending big money. We received £10m for McGeady and a few mil for the others but this money has just about filled the hole that the champs league would pay for in one season. Why do u think we travel the world playing these lucrative friendlies? Its because we need to make up for no top level European football.

I totally agree that we have to get rid of our fringe players but am more concerned that players who just don't cut are still allowed to stay... Loovens, Samaras, Murphy, Hooiveld, Rogne.... We should be keeping the likes of Thompson (played well), Rasmussen (never really given an chance under Lennon) McGinn (did a job when asked). We need a keeper and a target man. Getting rid of Loovens, Samaras, Murphy, Hooiveld, Rogne would surely free up about £50-75k a week in wages....?
Yeah Scottish league is a financially poor I agree ye have to be clever about who ye go for.look at rangers I don't believe they are skint they will sign.jusharasz deal ain't dead yet.. Celtic got over 1.5 million for playing in Austrailia and another 300k for the dublin cup not to mention appearence fees for the other friendly's , celtic also sell the Paradise winfall also the celtic pools that are supposed to pay for lennox town. Also season book sale's have went from 34, 000 to 41, 000 this season so money is coming in .
And as for our 3 players in Hikels wage will cover mattews and wanyamas wage.

Usually transfers are paid up over a period of time, are clubs wanting full payment from celtic now? if we havent bought because we havent been able to buy better quality players fair play, lets get on with what we have, but if were not getting players because the board are penny pinching then thats not good enough, stop bullshtt@ng us, johnny
I don't see why everyone is getting fussed over us not having signed any players. Just because we're not bidding willy nilly doesn't mean there's no money available. It's a given we'll spend less to keep control of the finances, but Lennon has already said we would only bring in "2 or 3 players in key areas" further to those already signed.
We've also also been in for a number of players - Musona (1.8M accepted, but not allowed to talk to him because of stupid transfer policy) and Bellamy (massive wages are a certainty, even if he's free/loan).
So we have at least a little money. IMO we're just being careful with what's available as the "2 or 3" players has probably also come from the boardroom. A goalkeeper, and possibly a striker and a loanee left back will be finalised by the end of the transfer window, but I'm hoping by the Europa League deadline. Still 3 weeks to go...

Hi Ed, not usually one for posting rumours but I've been told to watch this space; Roque Santa Cruz, 50k a week (I would imagine it's a loan deal). As I said, don't often post rumours but I've been told the source is very good.

True the bid was accepted over a month ago but the player is out till October so no chance of passing a medical and why sign for a lesser wage when he can wait off till end of the month and get 45k a week till then. It seem that not all people on this site are as intelligent as him now. Any of those two players would walk straight in to the center of the celtic defense.
