Celtic have been given hope of landing Real Madrid's Norwegian starlet Martin Odegaard on loan after Real stated he will be loaned out next season to gain experience , Ronny Deila is sure to be interested in working with his prodigy again , good signing? .

Reports say they'd rather send him on loan in Spain, which makes perfect sense. Then if they did have to resort to another league there'd be better offers than the SPFL. You never know though. To be honest if he was guaranteed to walk into our team then yeah maybe but loans where there is no chance of a permanent signing are a bit pointless in my eyes, unless of course he would definitely improve the side straight away.

you are spot on Jim if we don't have a hope on getting him permanently unless it was a player like Messi I would not want to have here

Both forster and denayer done great for us on loan so would not be so dismissive. Obviously the best deal is loan with option to buy.

I, honestly think it's not in the lad's interest to play for Celtic . He is a highly skilled teenager and I would worry that he wouldn't get the necessary protection from the referees . The Scottish game is very physical.

You might be right on that Chris , just thinking that working with his mentor Ronny Deila and the chance of game time and possible Champions League experience might interest Odegaard .

Maybe Real .ight send him here to toughen him up a bit though. You never know
{Ed001's Note - they would like to bring him down a peg or two as well, he has been getting a bit too big for his boots at times, hence why he has been in and out of the side. Zidane has dropped him for indiscipline off the pitch, such as not turning up for training sessions etc. Maybe they could see some sense in him working with someone who knows him well to keep his feet on the ground?}

Don't you think that IF he did come here he would expect to play in every game? And in that case would you still have him?

Hopefully Tony2bhoy , he doesn't lose his love for playing after receiving two many welcome to the SPL tackles . However we would welcome a player wanting to play every game , and if Deila thought it was in his interest and in Celtic's interest then he would play him . One of the skills of a manager is to keep all the eager wanting to play players accept their playing lot .
I must admit Ed001 idea that Real Madrid might think it makes sense to send him here to bring him down a peg or two.
