Just Read this seen him a few years back looked something special but has not quite furfilled his potential-
Nigerian midfielder, Rabiu Ibrahim is close to securing a move to Scottish Premier League side, Celtic.

Football agent, Tony Harris confirmed the latest development to SuperSport.com but declined making any further comment.

"Yes Rabiu Ibrahim is training with Celtic. That's the much I can give for now," said Harris.

But SuperSport.com learned that Rabiu trained with Neil Lennon and his squad on Saturday.

Rabiu has been a long-term target of Celtic but attempts to join The Bhoys have stalled due to work permit issues.

The 20-year-old Nigerian last month parted ways mutually with Dutch giants, PSV Eindhoven.

Lennon is looking in the direction of the former Gateway FC man to strengthen his side in the number 10 role.

The ex-Under20 and Under23 Nigerian midfielder is said to prefer moving to Celtic in spite of other interest from a host of English clubs including Sunderland.

Heard wee r offering Donnelly a deal then loaning him back out plus deal on the table for rabiu ibrahim if he likes what he sees

Believable15 Unbelievable2

Who's this rabiu ibrahim? {Ed007's Note - A 20yr old Nigerian AM who has just left PSV.}

Agree4 Disagree2

He was linked with liverpool and chelsea last year so must be really good

Agree6 Disagree2

Ibraim would be a class act if he signed but will prob end up with a epl team

Agree1 Disagree5

Hes allegedly on loan at CP this week!

Agree0 Disagree2

Hes only played for psv about 6 times though?

Agree3 Disagree0

If he's a class act why isn't he going straight to the ""greatest league in the world""......DH

Agree3 Disagree2

Will we not struggle for work permit for Ibrahim? Am sure thats why we didn't sign him few years back

Paddy {Ed007's Note - It must be sorted or able to be sorted. If CFC can prove he is good enough (like Wanyama) a work permit will be granted.}

After the game today against Peterhead, with all due respect to them but are not in the same class as Celtic, McCourt has to go I'd be happy with 500k for him, he's just not suited to the way Celtic play. He's greedy and loses the ball far to often which was evident today against a team with part-time players in it. Your thoughts Ed? {Ed007's Note - Blackpool are showing interest AGAIN. Let's hope Ollies Sky was broke today.}

Believable12 Unbelievable7

His through ball to sammy made the difference when we were struggling to break the deadlock. He was reasonably quiet in an unfamiliar role but he showed he isnt just a one trick pony with vision like that. He wouldnt be in my first 11 but for 500k I definately wouldnt sell him unless he was desperate to go.

Agree13 Disagree7

Yeah I thought he was pretty poor today too, it's a bit sad but I think for his own career it's best if he jumps over to another club. He will always be remembered as a good Celtic player but your right bud he's not suited to the way NL has us playing just now. Cheers
CB

Agree5 Disagree3

I know this is a different IP I'm on the pc not the laptop. I really hope he goes. It's not much but it's someone off the wage bill, could maybe even use him as part of an exchange? Maybe for rhodes?

Agree3 Disagree3

I thought paddy showed he can play in a team framework today.he is better up top commiting defenders but done a shift today

Agree9 Disagree6

Why are you telling us about ur IP address ??
CB

Agree2 Disagree1

I'm not sure you were watching the same game lads. He was composed every time he was on the ball, is always confident and is looks to get forward. If he goes, for me he'll always be remembered as the guy who didn't get the chance that other undeserving and limited players have got at cp.

Agree8 Disagree5

Would have mcgeoch on before paddy anytime

Agree13 Disagree2

Sell McCourt Dylan McGeouch done more in 10 minutes than he did in 90 we need a centre forward too Samaras plays too deep for a few times today cha put balls in the box and no1 was there 2 put it the back of the net

Agree12 Disagree4

Have to agree wholeheartedly with the guy above, mccourt is a fine player maybe not a 90 min man with his jinky play, but i thought he was good today and his pass that led to the first goal was immense!

Agree6 Disagree3

McCourt has played that position plenty of times, albeit last season! And he's just not as good there as when our wide! If we don't trim the squad then we can't bring guys in, so realisticly he's got to be one that goes, aswell as many others. Come on guys.......

Agree3 Disagree5

I was about to put up a post asking if you thought McCourt's heart was in it today. very average performance against a team that should be ripe for taking the pi55 with all his ability.

yes, his pass to samaras was class, but other than that and a 30 yard run from the halway line, he was non-existant.

for me he lost the ball far too often, 1st touch was poor and just didnt look like he wanted to be out there...maybe he has other things on his mind?

i agree with the poster who says McGeough done more in 10 mins

Agree7 Disagree2

I'm not so sure we need to trim the squad. In fact, I think it's the strength of our squad that has got us up to top of the league. We've had bad injuries to our best players (Brown, Kayal, Hooper, Ledley, Mulgrew, Izaguerre, Wilson K, Wilson M) and yet we've coped because we've had someone able to deputise and do more than an adequate job. Best squad in the country.

Agree5 Disagree2

Hes not good enough.never has been,never will be

Agree5 Disagree5

You don't know what you're talking about. I agree he's not the fittest, but he's nowhere near what your suggesting. He didn't lose the ball as much as Sammy today and played the ball to the wing at every opportunity. It's not even a debate-the lad hasn't been given the chance that someone of his class should have had. {Ed007's Note - His fitness has always been a concern, that's why he hasn't been given more of a chance.}

Agree3 Disagree4

I think he should go. Never going to be a regular for Celtic, and look what Blackpool did getting promotion with what was a mediocre side (and turned what looked like a donkey in C*****e A**m into a star). Blackpool obviously see something in McCourt and maybe could get the best out of him in a similar manner.

His wonder goals over the season have been worth his spell at the club, and he's great to watch in the fleeting appearances he makes, but for the sake of his career it's probably best he leaves.

Agree4 Disagree2

Ed, I'd still have him around. He can unlock defences effortlessly and is always positive on the ball. Well worth having in the squad. Some teams would bite your arm off to have someone of his quality in their squads. {Ed007's Note - If he could maintain a good level of fitness he would be a great player, but after this length of time it doesn't look like he will, not here anyway.}

Agree4 Disagree2

We DO! Need to trim the squad!!?? God man..... It's one of the biggest squads in the league! Do you want a few new players in? YES....... So we need to trim to accommodate and free up wages for players that might command more. It's no hard to understand??!!

Agree6 Disagree0

Believe he has been asked to stay on but wants a challange elsewhere.
Cant blame him for that .
With NL calling the shots his oppertunities will be limited and who can argue with the team decisions Neil is making ,cant do any wrong at the minute .
Much as I like PMc Court the over all success of the team comes first.

Interesting wee site here Editor {Ed007's Note - Thanks.}

Agree3 Disagree0

Sell him fair enough. But i quite fancy a sell on clause because we all know what he is capable of.

Joeshmo1888

Agree5 Disagree1

I would sell mccourt, and include a sell on clause, could make a tidy sum on him.... that's if Blackpool still interested. Good player but doesn't suit our system. not got the stamina to last

Agree5 Disagree2

He looked fit to me today, and dont u get match-fit unless actually playing matches! that was his 2nd start this season, what do u want him to come on and score a hatrick of superb goals? get real. hes a class act and has not been used to his strengths or used at all for that matter!

Agree5 Disagree3

Well if he's not been used at all then what's the point?? Decent enough player! Pick ur strongest 11 then your strongest bench player plus 3-4 newcomers who also shouldn't be benchwarmers and I doubt McCourt would be close to playing half a season!! Stop pitching for McCourt and get real.....

Agree2 Disagree2

Why trim the squad? What position do we need to fill? As I said earlier, its the fact we have such a good squad, and not just because of its numerical size, that we're now the team to stop. I'm happy to sell Bangura and Sammy, even though he's probably having his most consistent time in a celtic jersey and then bring in a forward.

Agree3 Disagree2

Do you not remember when we were playin ledley, ki, kayal, and brown (4 centre mids) across the midfield for weeks on end??!! If McCourt couldn't get a game then he never will get a decent run of games! Cb cf and ad possibly wide player! That's the positions that need filled..........!

Agree1 Disagree2

Why not pitch for mccourt? hes a class act open your eyes! he was just fine today!

Agree2 Disagree3

McCourt's the one piece of genuine class we have; the rest are very good, some are excellent at the minute. But wee Paddy is quite literally different class

Agree3 Disagree2

We have a wide player in Forrest and dare I say it...McCourt

Agree3 Disagree1

Some are getting as bad as the teddy bears on here with their buy, buy, buy mentality. The squad was that good that we were very unfortunate not to make it into the next stages of europe.

Agree1 Disagree1

If he's a "class act" he would play week in week out when fit!? But he doesn't because he's not! I agree he's good on his day but he's just a squad player..... And yeah well done forrest is a wide player.. Head and shoulders better than McCourt that's why he plays most weeks but could do with another for cover or to play opposite wing! God some folk just cannae think before they jump down yer throat........

Agree0 Disagree2

"class act" and then " just fine" in the same sentence? No bad a would say!

Agree1 Disagree1

No need to buy all the time. Financially, we're doing ok, we're top of the league, the squad has easily what it takes to stay there. We'll then have enough cash to speculate a bit on a champions league run next season-that's what I want as a Celtic supporter-not new faces just for the sake of it.

Agree3 Disagree0

Aye ok then..... We don't need 1or 2 new faces! Proper signings....!? So if Celtic don't win the league like 3 seasons ago when we should have strengthened then we can all say well done, it's ok cause or "quality squad" was good enough even tho we didny win the league! And you's will be happy with that...? Didny think so

Agree1 Disagree0

A 'just fine' class act id say, why would we sell him. just because NL doesnt play him every week doesnt mean we should sell him, hes a luxury sub the now but should get a lot more game time than he does, but what would the 'average joe' paying supporter know?

Agree1 Disagree0

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one ma auld chum. NL doing the job we all hoped he could do and the main thing is the lads keep up the current form.

Agree2 Disagree0

Paddy McCourt has been at Celtic since 2008, more than long enough to prove that he's good enough to be a regular starter. Nearly 4 YEARS to get a level of fitness to play 90 minutes. He has accomplished absolutely nothing for us, except a few quality goals. He has never been, nor will he ever be good enough for Celtic. Would be delighted to get him off our wage bill and give emerging talent like Dylan McGeough the opportunity in the first team.

Agree4 Disagree3

AT LAST!!! Well said buddy.....

Agree0 Disagree0

He had a run of 5 or 6 games last season prob the most in a row, but when he does play he tries to make things happen he was superb in his only start against r*nkers last season in the 2-0 win and dont forget the impact he made this season away from home against motherwell to start our greatest run with victories in years. heard we are looking at andy jonshon of fulham any truth {Ed007's Note - No.}

Believable0 Unbelievable10

Mccourts never celtic class and never will be he should be playing for a wee team like killie or something,he would struggle to get a game in our youth team lol

Agree4 Disagree11

Clearly not mate, he was playing for the 1st team today and is one of the most composed on the ball. Get off Paddy's back.

Agree7 Disagree2

Please stop this Andy Jonson rubbish he is absolute crap forget him, it's good to see this guy rabiu Ibraham he looks a real player for sure. Hope this one goes thro
CB

Agree7 Disagree2

If we're looking at Andy Johnson I hav a suggestion, close your fkn eyes lol
CB ;)

Agree3 Disagree1

A fit Andy Johnson would bang the goals in up here and would be decent in European games too in my humble opinion.A vastly underrated player who with the right coaching and clear of injuries would be a good signing.Hail Hail!

CELTIC (4-4-2) Zaluksa; Cha, K. Wilson, Mulgrew, Izaguirre; McCourt, Brown, Ki, Ledley; Stokes, Samaras
Subs: Forster, McGeouch, Wanyama, F. Twardzik, Matthews

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Need to up a gear 2 nd half, and try to avoid injuries,

Agree0 Disagree0

Routine stuff today. Players look fit and raring to get forward at all times which us impressive. Like the look of Twardzik, but would loan him out so he can get games and toughen up a bit-he skipped over a few harmless challenges today.

HI ed .was watching sky sports and it said dos santos from spurs wants to leave and spurs are willing to sell how much do you think he would cost ? Good player but don't know if he's in our price range {Ed007's Note - In the EPL it could be anything really, £2-3m to get him off the wage bill? £5m+ because it is the EPL? That's just my guess.}

Believable2 Unbelievable4

Cracking wee player too lightweight fir scotland tho mcdab

Agree4 Disagree0

Spurs accepted 3m las year but failed to agree terms with a championship side. Put in a cheeky 2m bid

Liverpool made an inquiry about Adam Matthews and a possible transfer would prove to be a £4m windfall for Celtic only six months since the Welsh full-back's switch from Cardiff City. (Mail on Sunday)

I see Walter Smith's on Goals On Sunday..I actually like Walter but he can't get a word in from George Burley

Paul Scholes out of retirement Ed007 ?

Mrs E {Ed007's Note - I'm waiting on Ed001 getting back to me about Matthews Mrs. You could have knocked me down with a feather when I saw Scholes was back!!}

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Surely we'll be hanging onto Matthews for more than 6 months :(

Is Scholes back with Darren Fletcher being out ? He's a cracking player though, used to always have him as my first goalscorer for England. Mrs E {Ed007's Note - Ed001 says there hasn't been a bid made, yet anyway. I'd trust him over it. Some people are saying Scholes came back because AF can't get his main target during this window.}

Agree4 Disagree0

Soz Ed but as soon as I seen that Scholes was on the bench today I had to have a chuckle n think of yourself.
Never know might get the winner?
CB {Ed007's Note - Don't need him to get a winner, :-)

my guess is McCourt and Commons will go and we will try to get Templeton, Vardy and Donnelly in. Together with the sale of Maloney in the summer I think this will signal a change to our style of play and more away from someone playing in the hole behind front two and more pace on the wings and variation in our scoring chances.

Believable6 Unbelievable4

Meant to say 'move' away from someone playing in the hole behind front two and move towards more pace on the wings...

Agree4 Disagree2

Would keep commons, hope he gets back to the form he showed last season

Agree7 Disagree0

Well I remember when he came to us the Derby fans saying he is a good player when he wants to be. attitude seems to be his problem. I don't believe all these 'injury' stories. he put weight on over the summer and wasn't trying hard enough to shift it !

Agree5 Disagree0

Ed - just to clarify, do you know what Commons current injury is ? {Ed007's Note - Fat?}

Agree8 Disagree0

I think he deserves another chance remmeber we dont actually know the true story

Agree2 Disagree1

Well exactly. I think NL was being 'kind' when he left him out of first derby match by saying he had an 'injury' which Commons stupidly contradicted.

Agree2 Disagree1

NL clearly knows the real story with Commons and is obviously not impressed with him. He's too good to be left out, so it must be something serious that sees Lennon not include him week after week. We'll make a tidy wee profit on him anyway.

Hi Ed, any truth in rumours that Hamdi Salihi from Rapid Vienna is coming on trial? Very good goal scoring record. {Ed007's Note - I wouldn't think he would need a trial.}

Believable4 Unbelievable3

See that's the point ! so good we can get him to perform for us ?

Celtic will run the rule over former Sporting Lisbon starlet nigernian Rabiu Ibrahim, the player will arrive at Lennoxtown for a trail period. Ibrahim can play as a left sided or creative midfielder. Can be signed on a free transfer. Source The Mail on Sunday.. CBCFC 67

Believable13 Unbelievable0

This guy is a superstar but has been hampered by injuries. All left foot, hope he makes it he will light up the dull Spl.

Agree4 Disagree3

Looks like he has plenty of potential and still very young, has been linked with a host of clubs ? maybe worth a punt, free agent with potential sell on revenue...Gb

Agree5 Disagree2

I see wiki says we have this guy signed on a bosman but they have in brackets not confirmed. I know you not a fan of that site ed lol. I think it's great how so many clubs are looking at our young talent and we just keep shooting them down because we are in a very health position. Take a bow mr Lenny and Celtic Board.
