Here's my take on the situation.

It has been well documented that some players at the club have eyes on moves at the end of the season. Now, I'm not saying that those players are not trying but as the same commitment level is not there as last season then these players won't be putting there bodies into tackles etc where they may have risk of injury. This is why Celtic look tentative and not aggressive. I'm also led to believe by someone who has watched Celtic train on quite a few occasions that some of the recent signings who cost decent fees and on good money are no where near the level required and this is having a bearing on team selections.

I fully believe that Lennon has made the board aware that there is a major rebuilding job to be done which has come as a shock but I think DD and PL Fully trust his judgement On this. This being the case, it makes sense for Lennon to stay till end of season and over see some changes in personnel before handing the rains onto someone else.

If a new guy came just now, Celtic wouldn't get there no1 choice, the new guy would want his own team in place, new players and likelihood Is probably new playing style would result in more dropped points. With C.V. this would cost mega!

But the board say that they are to review this in Jan they have basically told Lennon that he has up until after next Rangers game to turn it around if not we will have a transfer window to help the new manager with what he will require the statement let's everyone know what's to happen like it or not.

A couple of good points there mate, the only way I differ is that I think it would be in our best interests long term to appoint new boss just now.
It would give him a few weeks to evaluate the squad before transfer window opens then as Rangers are now clear favourites for league it takes a bit of pressure of and he can work with his squad until dnd of season before getting a 2nd window in the summer to get prepared for next season.
It’s too big a gamble keeping Lennon until end of season then if he is to be replaced expecting new Gaffa to have squad gelled for start of next season.
I think there’s going to be a lot of incomings and outgoings as this side are at the end of a cycle, club captain is at best a future squad player, Edouard and Ntcham will be sold, Christie and a Ajeer might be sold so core of squad will be replaced IMO.

Celtic will not get a top class manager in jan! Of course results will pick up and I see Celtic going on a run. Lennon will be here till end of season. The celtic board know that even if Klopp came in Tomorrow the seasons fukt like I said, major rebuild with club needing time to get right man in olace.

Gggg. I agree mate with getting guy in now but it’s cost I think and no good candidates available at the moment. The board are being honest here when they say that the players know Lennon his methods etc. Board adopting the “better the devil you know “. Attitude at the min.

Lennon has spent 30million since he came back, fitness levels are his fault.

Yes the players know Lennon's methods and they aren't working but as far as the board are concerned, we will just go with it anyway. MADNESS!

Guys you want change? Then get rid of Lawell and Desmond. As long as they are in charge we will regress and a new manager will be wary to come and work for them.

The alarming question is why is it that since Lennon has been back there is an exodus of players wanting to leave?

Lennon is the problem, the board do have a lot to answer for.

These 7 games will simply infuriate the fans further as by the time January comes that gap at the top will have extended further and I have no faith we will beat Hearts either.

Our hope is for a new manager to come in and do a Brendan,
Who turned Ronnie’s players into Invincibles.
We know we have good players but the problem is they currently look lost.
Yet the board have inexplicably taken away our hope. Shameful.

Surely it would be wiser to get a new manager in now, if we leave it until next summer he will then have no time to evaluate the squad, and make his changes . He could potentially just have to short break to change the system and players which could obviously impact on the champions league qualifying and the start to next season.
But after the statement yesterday he’s staying for the foreseeable future .
Another bad decision by the plc.

Lennon didn't sign players it's Lawell the unofficial director of Football, Scout, CEO, Accountant that decides.

Do you think its possible that the board have got some one to take over already but can't or won't come until January? Just trying to give some benefit off doubt that the board actually know what its doing .

Tony. No, I think the board are buying time. No one expected this start to the season especially the board. I think if all had went well this season, Lennon might have left after 10 anyway and Celtic might have brought in Jack Ross or someone who could come in and prepared to work under same conditions as Lenny. I. e. Kennedy as no2, someone else in charge of transfers etc.

What top manager will come in under those terms? The board need to think long and hard about next appointment. Gerrard going nowhere next season and rangers will improve further.

In mu opinion for what it's worth, the only way change will come is if we the celtic fans stand up to the board. This board is only interested in money, if we cut them off at the basic level then they will have to listen to us. Don't buy anything celtic until the board and Desmond take action. If that means no merch being sold no St being sold then so be it. Once desmond has to put his own money in then changes will come. Imo.

Not sure players wanting out is all down to Lenny. There was prob an expectation that Ajer, eddy and Ntcham would go this Summer. Ideal time to sell Eddy and Ajer with 2 years left on contract. Christie as well has probably never had any intention of signing a new deal. He thinks he's better than he is and will prob get a move to a Burnley or a Brighton and double his wages. We have held onto players too long in this cycle for obvious reasons but if we are selling the club on a 2-3 year stay then we aren't keeping our side of the bargain. That said the players are a disgrace for the lack of effort they are giving. The worrying thing is lack of quality replacements for these players.
