Good luck to him.

Liked him couple times I seen him but looks like he couldn't convince a few managers.
Hope he does well.

Think it's a loan deal bhoys.

I like the look of Young Fischer, I hope he also like Scitt Allan works hard and cones back stronger and more concentrated on playing at the top with Celtic. #learnfromLeighGriffiths.

3 year permanent deal confirmed just like i first heard.

08 Aug 2016 19:02:18
Paddy McNair supposedly coming in, don't know if it's before the deadline or as a wildcard but heard it from a few folk now, imagine it would be a loan.

Believable3 Unbelievable5

08 Aug 2016 19:43:14
Heard same but permanent deal. Realistically he'll never play under Mourinho so he may as well leave full time.

Strange move if its a loan. looking at the back 4 we have, Toure/ Sviatchenko/ Simunovic/ Lustig/ O'Connell, for 2 places. the only other thought is that BR does not like the looks of 1 or 2. However if its another class player then fine by me.

HH.

08 Aug 2016 20:12:27
cant see the reasoning behind it unless bhoyattas ta ta.

Agree2 Disagree1

08 Aug 2016 20:27:23
He can play as a defensive midfielder. Maybe the rock we need in front of the back 4 for big domestic games/ europe.

Agree2 Disagree0

08 Aug 2016 20:33:46
Can McNair not play that defensive midfield position to? Maybe that's where BR sees him!

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Aug 2016 20:36:51
Definitely play holding role if he comes in.

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Aug 2016 21:18:25
Do we really need this guy.
At centre half we have plenty of options
And if he is coming in on loan then why not just play Ajer.

Agree1 Disagree2

08 Aug 2016 21:48:58
I think you are spot on Kev83. The team lacks creativity in the midfield given BR's reluctance to start the like of Rogic so that is a greater priority for mine and I don't see what McNair brings that we haven't already got within the squad. I'd be even more wary based on the loan experience of last season with another Man Utd starlet in Blackett.

Agree0 Disagree1

08 Aug 2016 21:49:20
Agree kev, I would rather see a top class attacking midfielder come in! Get that and a new GK and I'll be happy.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Aug 2016 21:49:22
Apparently he is actually a defensive midfielder who can drop in at c/ back if needed, like he did at Man U last season.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Aug 2016 22:04:50
Think we will prodominately play a back 3 so may need the defenders incase of emergencys but if it's for a CM I don't know what we will get from him Iv not seen enough!

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Aug 2016 22:33:21
Think it's a permanent transfer guys only got 1 year left on his Utd deal.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Aug 2016 23:06:17
Don't get the cry for a creative midfielder. Seems pretty clear to me that we won't be playing with a no. 10 this season. Griffiths dembele Sinclair Roberts will all be starters so to throw in a number 10 as well would be stupidly attacking. Brendan knows what he's doing.

Agree2 Disagree0

08 Aug 2016 23:08:48
The northern Ireland assistant manager said his best role is as a box to box midfielder.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 10:30:56
Completely agree DG1888 realistically Armstrong, Rogic, McGregor, Johanson are all CAM not to mention, Ajer has played there, as well as the 2 young lads we have in development aswell. CM we have Brown, Biton and Ajer but apart from possibly the latter none are actually CDM! I think we need another baller in the middle a lot more than we need a CAM. And there's nothing to say we can't get a deep lying playmaker but needs a bit of steel, especially for Europe.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 12:55:35
DG we are not crying out for a number 10! We are looking for a CM that can bring the ball forward and control the tempo of the game! We have suiting CMs but maybe Rodgers can help bitton or Rogic improve to fit the role.

Agree0 Disagree1

09 Aug 2016 16:23:34
A box to box midfielder is what we need, someone who can score a couple but also chip in with the defensive side of it.
Not a no 10.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 18:00:56
I agree but I've heard a lot of people say we need a number 10 which is the last thing we need along with any more centre backs. HH.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Aug 2016 15:50:19
Cattermole rumours are nonsense. Michel Vorm is definitely a player we have enquired about though. With Kolo at the back and the emergence of O'Connell I would like to see a creative central midfield player prioritised. These types of players can make the difference especially in Europe.

Would like to see us sign thomas delaney From copenhagen aswell as a creatuve midfielder.

Hes very much similiar to signing sviatchenko, good age and plenty of experience and potential.

Just heard from a mate that we are looking at bringing Sunderlands mannone to Celtic park on permanent for a region around the 2 million mark, he is definitely worth taking a punt on and I'd take him at the club with open arms.

Believable3 Unbelievable8

08 Aug 2016 15:05:51
Well a quick Google shows he has just signed a new deal in July. Seems unlikely then. Also he states he is very settled and enjoying life in the NE.

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Aug 2016 15:16:43
Completely disagree he is and absolute bomscare of a keeper. Sunderland couldn't work out who was worse between him and Pantillomon. Really hope this is not the case.

Just read the news a few people have been dreading. BR telling James Forrest he does have a future at Celtic and it is now up to his agent and the club to sort out a new contract for him.

Believable5 Unbelievable9

He said it on live TV and so why people are ticking unbelievable is beyond me.

Has he not played well recently?

Let's see how he performs this season under BR as he may finally be a player worth keeping.

Agree2 Disagree3

08 Aug 2016 13:05:41
Worth keeping imo played well in games this season scored yesterday and played 90 mins br knows who he needs and who he doesn't.

Agree2 Disagree4

08 Aug 2016 14:53:29
I have been impressed by Forrest in the last few games but his consistency is the problem, if BR can get that from him I don't see any reason why we shouldn't give him a contract.

Agree1 Disagree1

08 Aug 2016 15:17:55
Even if its just to sell him at the end of season rather than loose him in December for free.

Agree3 Disagree0

08 Aug 2016 15:52:16
For rest has been putting on a crazy effort since the season started. I watched him bust a gut against Astana tracking back. This is the absolute minimum BR is requiring. It works too. For rest will need to consistently beat his man and find the cross as the end product. Personally I think he Wi lose interest or pick up an injury. From BRs point of view he came and was faced with these Euro qualifiers. What could he do but get them all on side till we get through this and then I am sure the new faces will arrive and certain people will go. He has done brilliantly so far man management wise.

Agree1 Disagree1

08 Aug 2016 17:16:28
Back in the day I was a huge Forrest fan, if he can find form, sign him up.

Agree1 Disagree2

08 Aug 2016 19:55:20
He played well yesterday to be fsir to him but he's been living off that Karagandy goal for 3 seasons now and you could count the number of times he's played well since on one hand. It reeks of playing for a new deal before he sinks back into injury and inconsistency.

Agree0 Disagree1

09 Aug 2016 16:27:56
I think forrest is worth another season and unfortunately for that he requires a contract. I've been suprised by his effort under br although still think he drifts in and out of games.
It's a clean slate for me nobody was exactly pushing the boundaries under Rd so give everyone a shot.

Oh except efe, boyata and CG 😁.

Cattermole? Where's that one come from?

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Aug 2016 00:18:06
I wouldn't mind cattermole but surely moyes will want to keep him! What age is he?

Agree0 Disagree1

08 Aug 2016 00:24:48
He's 28 which is younger than I thought.

08 Aug 2016 08:39:43
Lee Cattermole! Really! And where is he going to play? He's not a creative midfielder! He is very much in the mould of Brown! Is he any better than Brown?

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Aug 2016 09:39:27
Cattermole! No chance, he's not what we need! Far to similar to brown! It's a creative player we're needing! And carttermole ain't a creative player! Ever rated him anyway!

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Aug 2016 10:59:20
I'm sure Cattermole just signed a new 5 year deal last summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Aug 2016 13:09:04
It's true he's leaving Sunderland but think it's Norwich he's going to.

Agree0 Disagree1

08 Aug 2016 14:24:50
Hope vorm is true CG is giving me nightmares.

Suprised at cattermole and I personally don't think we need him but BR has picked signings well so far so will trust him.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Aug 2016 14:51:14
maybe cattermole is to keep brown on his toes as his position in the team had been cemented due to a lack of competition. That being said wouldn't be someone I would sign purely because he isn't better than brown.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Aug 2016 16:35:10
Dundeebhoy you might be right but surely an expensive option just to keep brown on his toes by that I mean wages.

I actually think he will potentially be a biton replacement, at Liverpool br liked Gerrard deep with lucas so maybe same thought process.
With an attacking cm.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Aug 2016 17:56:16
thats a valid point tick but like I said in my OP he isn't better than brown, that alone should mean it's a no go for the money he would want. Cattermole aside I do think we need to start looking at a long term replacement for brown we may need to break the bank a little but wether the club will mean as much to them as it does brown will decide how long we have them for.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Aug 2016 18:33:51
Joe Thompson for me would be Brown's long term replacement. Hopefully he stands out on loan and kicks on.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Aug 2016 20:16:49
Fair point man, it's funny though because brown is starting to play well again.
