It's great that guys like Mulgrew, Matthews and Forrest have all signed new contracts and a few more are set to come, but the player I think that really deserves a new deal is Joe Ledley. He is the heart of our midfield. A real goal threat, a willingness to make a challenge and his passing is superb. Future Celtic captain!

Believable14 Unbelievable7

That boy deserves £40k a week, I know we cant afford that but make him one of our top earners and even cptain in broonies absence. We need to show him how important he is to us.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would imagine Ledley is already on 25k a week.im sure he'd be one of our top earners. He was a free agent so we had no fee to pay and there was other teams competing with us at the time .

Agree0 Disagree0

He is already one of the highest paid players at the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we have a cap of 25k a week which ledley and broony are already on doubt they will get more than that tbh
bigD

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm sure he already is the top earner................kbt1978

Agree0 Disagree0

Ledley is already one of our top earners, thats why he hasn't been mentioned for a new deal, we couldn't to pay him anymore.

celticthomas

Agree0 Disagree1

Ledley is already on 26k a week, i know there is supposed to be a 25k cap but him a broony are on 26 plus bonuses. Ledley was our top earner before Brown signed his new deal.

I agree, Ledley is a great player.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wasn't convinced with Ledley when he first signed, reflecting on this it was probably because he was playing centre midfield with Ki. But as time has went on I can now fully appreciate what Joe Ledley brings to the table. Do I think he's a better midfielder than Brown & Wanyama my answer would have to be 'No'

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not 100% sure but I think Ledley got around 25k per week when he signed due to being out of contract and there was a couple of EPL clubs trying to sign him, Everton was 1 I think......Maybe Ed007 would be able to advise on this

JGD

Agree0 Disagree0

Got my respect when he done elbows no ability at all McCulloch at Ibrox the day Sammy scored 2 again the club formerly known as rankers.

Agree0 Disagree0

A player gets your approval for "doing" an opponent. Nothin short of disgusting mate. We want to see players playing football at cp, not assaulting opponents

Agree0 Disagree0

That Mculloch is an animal

Agree1 Disagree0

Exactly. McCullooch is a bully. He needs to Be put in his place

Agree0 Disagree0

The guys been here 2 and a bit years n he,s rapidly becoming a legend for us. Ledleys on 26k a week, but be really should deserve a pay rise to about 30-32 a week. Future Celtic captain and the way I see it id rather tie down our top players to better deals and that itself would be a new signing. We already have a good enough squad for the spl n we,ve shown we can do it on the big stage in the cl, we released players in the summer and that raked in like 100k in wages, we sold ki for 5.5m and are guaranteed at least 15m from the Gs, time for the board to splash out and reward Neil Lennon and the backroom staff, aswell as our comitted quality players bb

Agree0 Disagree0

J L as a future captain ? yep I could see that happening in future

Agree0 Disagree0

For the wee soul who think celtic players are not able to look after each other on the park , the greatest teams Celtic ever had in the 60's and 70's could play and could mix it guys like Auld, Murdoch , Brogan, Gemmell, Hay , McGrain , McNeil and believe it or nor Jinky done a few so grow up or take up another sport

Would quite like to see a bit more of the young boy that plays for Aberdeen, Ryan Fraser. Looks quite a good wee prospect and if he continues in current form then might be worth a chance at developing with Celtic.

Big positive for me in the last few games has been Izzy, really looks back to his very best. Thought he was immense again today..........martyc1888

Believable10 Unbelievable7

Agree 100%. He was good again today.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yep, agree with your post. The last few games Izzy looks confident and playing well. Not quite back to his best but getting there. Hbhoy.

Agree1 Disagree0

I thought Izaguirre was our man of the match against Hearts. Commons was also excellent and maybe he got it because of his great assist.

Would just like to say well done to celtic on recruiting John park he has been a revelation finding wanyama has got to be one of our best ever Signings he's fantastic in every way not scared about a challenge sometimes a bit rash with decisions but he's only young and gonna get better just hope he pulls our jersey on for a long time

Chrissybhoy

Believable21 Unbelievable5

No doubting his talent, thats unquestionable but like most players there's an area he can improve on and for Victor I feel that there are times he's lackadaisical. Caught in possession or losing ball easily in SPL normally wont result in a disaster but CL totally different ball game. I'll counter that though by the tackle he put in to win the ball in Moscow to get us underway, that shows what hes all about.Man is a mountain and can understand why teams are sniffing about. Is he a £10M player, dont know. at 21 that's not young nowadays in terms of being expected to be the finished article and I think he's a bit off that. Going back to Mr Park, he is definitely worth his money and more. the list of players brought through and where this team's value currently is, is down to him and his support

Agree0 Disagree0

We were linked with wanyama before lenny was there not taking anything away from park hes stil top noch HH

Agree0 Disagree0

Did we get John park from Hibs? Who was it that recruited him? Ian L

Agree0 Disagree0

Imagine him and Davie Hay working together

Agree0 Disagree0

Lennon recruited him from n.forrest i think HH

Hi ed just a wee question what's happened to stokes is he injured not heard of him since the new season

Chrissybhoy {Ed007's Note - He is still carrying an injury Chrissy.}

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Cheers ed that was my initial thought says he's back in January think we need him back to push hooper and sammy for a spot love stokes think he's fantastic and gets the goals

Chrissybhoy {Ed007's Note - He doesn't get the credit he deserves from some fans but I like him and think he has improved as a player during his time at CFC.}

Agree1 Disagree0

An important player for the club TTTS

He's hoping to be back for December according to his twitter.

Agree0 Disagree0

Something is going on with Stokes and Lennon. Celtic keeping it in house and dont be surorised if he is sold in January.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cant see him getting too much game time when he comes back to be honest with the two new lads coming in and watt going to get more game time this season. commons also seems to be playing more up front now too. i heard lenny saying recently he hopes to offer him a new deal but if we received a decent offer i would let him go.

Hi ed where is the cheapest place to buy celtic kits? {Ed007's Note - I always buy my stuff from the official store, that way the club get all the money, sorry.}

Believable4 Unbelievable2

That's great Ed but some bhoys would like a shirt but feeling the pinch. So knowing where's the best outlet is helpful. {Ed007's Note - The guy was asking me a personal question, I answered it for him on a personal level. What do you expect me to do, go round shops seeing seeing where the cheapest deals are? I left it open to others to help him out, something I note you haven't even done, you have just came on with a smart ar$e answer. So where is the cheapest place, can you help the OP out? If not, why are you even commenting on the thread.}

Agree0 Disagree0

You can buy them from Sports Direct which is probably the cheapest and you can enjoy the idea of funding Sevco through their links with Mike Ashley's company.

Agree0 Disagree0

No need for smart remarks, the Ed gave his opinion. I believe Sports Direct are the cheapest, if you buy from there a percentage of their profits help fund Zombie FC, I buy all my stuff from the Celtic Shop, that way more money goes to the team. Cheeky Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Some people just dont seem to grow up
i didnt realise it was eds job to go shopping for u
hey ed007 fancy telling me where i can buy the cheapest pint of milk?
ffs people cant act for themselves these days, seems like they have to go on a forum to find someone elses answer to how they should live their lives
get it from the superstore
club gets moolah
otherwise go out into th real world and shop around
ParadiseAndy (drunken)

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed's right use the official club stores and put money back into the club. Hbhoy. {Ed007's Note - That is just my personal choice Hbhoy, I am not telling anyone where to shop, if you are buying a few tops for kids etc it all mounts up. But I know what you mean.}

Agree0 Disagree0

If ur looking for a cheap one there's a wee stall doon the barras next to the donut stall that sells them lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally argee with Ed007 on this one..I always buy direct from Celtic, the difference in price is not that much & at least you know where your money is going. Mrs E

Agree0 Disagree0

Everybody just needs to calm down here the cheapest place to get celtic kits is sports direct, but some of that will go to rangers. Celtic shops are closing so i would SUGGEST buying them there. All of the money still goes to Celtic and it saves jobs too.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would rather spend 10 pounds more on kit than go 2 sports direct they are the zombies official suppliers every tim should boycout that shop shop hail hail

Agree0 Disagree0

JJB in admin so all tops are 7quid!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry if this is a stupid question but if you buy off the Celtic store online do Celtic still get all the money? Just that I live in Carlisle.

Ro.

Agree0 Disagree1

I think if someone wants to buy celtic merchandise from another store they should be free to do so without fear of ridicule/attack from other celtic fans. not everyone has 50 quid to burn on a top. The official store is clearly ripping us fans off so everyone continuing to buy from there is just empowering them to continue doing so. Also i read somewhere (could be wrong) that Nike pay celtic up front and from then on celtic dont get a big share of the shirt sales? Maybe someone better informed could clarify this?

Whats the kit we are wearing today?

Believable2 Unbelievable11

07 Oct 2012 12:37:23
So looking through my cupboard the other day and was delighted to find a celtic jersey that was worn in one of the U.S. friendlies back in the O'neill days that is sponsored by 'Coors'. Got me thinking about how many of these there actually are as I was informed these were only made for the players on the day. Anyone know if this is correct?

COYBIG

Believable4 Unbelievable2

From what i remember Carling are owned by Coors and seeing as they were playing in USA they changed the sponsor to one the American public would recognise. Can't remember who we were playing while wearing it as we had done a couple of tours in O'Neill's time.

Jungle Bhoy.

Agree0 Disagree0

It was Man Utd that we were playing, friend of mine was on the bench that day and he gave me it because he managed to get one of the United players (think it may have been Keane or Verons).

Celtic will pocket a £1 million win bonus for their 3-2 victory over Spartak. The revenue generated by their Champions League journey from qualifiers to at least the group stage is now certain to top £20m. If you want to put that another way, Celtic's turnover this season, when they do not have the Old Firm rivalry in their league set-up, will be around a third higher than when Rangers were alongside them in the Scottish Premier League last season FozzY

Believable10 Unbelievable3

Celtic's revenue is well up. Two other clubs have the chance of European football. It's all good.

Agree0 Disagree0

Whose the numty putting unbelievable got to be a sevconian marty bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

It's 1m for a win, not £1m, and 500,000 for a draw.
