okay the runs over it was brilliant while it lasted but there is so much to look forward to in the coming seasons. I would like to think the team won't be totally dismantled and we can keep as many of our best players as possible. I think wanyama ambsose and afew fringe players we could live without. but the core of the team must be kept guys like sammy brown ledley wilson forster forrest mathews izzy when he's back to his best should be the players we build our future on. I would love to see hooper staying but I think that's 50/50, add to those the prospects gershon rogic mcgeough and I thin we are good

A question for you Ed and All the Bhoys & Ghirls!

Say you have a transfer budget equal to the market value of the Celtic Squad/Team for last night. Who would you buy.

For me it would be Ledley, Foster, Matthews, Wanyama, Kayal & Commons. I think the rest don't really deserve anymore chances. I feel Hooper is found out at this level and is too lazy. Forrest is way out of his depth, sammy too inconcistent. I could go on.

Dissapointed Stokes didn't get a run last night, strange decision to bring Lassad on before him

BadBhoy {Ed007's Note - Sorry it took me so long to reply mate, I have been busy elsewhere all day. I would choose Forster, Matthews, Wilson, Mulgrew, Wanyama, Brown ( I know he wasn't playing but I think we missed him), Ledley, Kayal and probably Stokes, he will score in the SPL. Mix in some youth like McGeouch and see how it goes. Anybody else who a decent offer is made for I would sell to aid in the rebuilding with the possible exception of Izaguirre if he gets back to the player he was.
We seriously lack creativity going forward, Commons is not the answer. I also think NL should think about going with a 4-2-3-1 formation for next season. I would like to have seen it implemented at some point this season.}

Forrest is way out of his depth? Sorry mate totally disagree. Respect your opinion as a Celtic fan but to say Forrest is out of his depth is nonsense imo. AbS hail hail.

Agree2 Disagree1

In Europe Wanyama has been very comfortable. I would also say Mathews, Mulgrew, Ledley, Wilson and Brown can compete although Wilson can be iffy as much as Effe can be Effe!
Commons has bags of skill but has done nothing for weeks. Hooper has had a poor season compared to last and has been very quiet since the 'window'.
Sammy is an enigma (Latin for FFS) and Big Forster has magic moments shrouded in panic with cross balls and handling. Lustig is often 'injured';
Forrest can light up a game and is one of the few who speeds up attacks, but with Izzy the final ball needs to improve.
Stokes, McCourt, Lassad, Miku, and Rogne may like a change of scenery?
Please Father that is all.

Commons wasn't that good last night. Forrest would keep and I can't believe you didn't have Wilson as one of the pics. To me Wilson is a must keep as he looks solid

Agree1 Disagree0

Commons is a good player at SPL level but lacks speed of thought and vision to make a real impact at last 16 level.

We need a Lubo type player but they generally start at 10 million

Agree2 Disagree0

I'm a bit worried about Wilson to be honest. Steady this year but didn't have a great first year. Now that might just have been a settling thing, hopefully.

I must say I think Commons is good, I know you disagree Ed but I feel he has creativity and a cheekyness about him that we lack. Season 1 Izzy would walk on to any team in the EPL. Will we ever see him again. Can Stokes cut it in Europe, he hasn't been given the chance to show us what he can do.

Thanks for the comments.

4-2-3-1

Forster/New young keeper

Matthews/Lustig
Wilson/Mulgrew
New centre half
Izzy

Brown/Mceough/
Ledley/Kayal

Russel/Mackay Steven
Rogic/Commons
Forrest/Sammy

Stokes/Watt/New striker

This is the squad i'd like to be most involved next season. Hooper and Wanyama are the only two certs to leave Celtic this summer. If the rags are correct and a half decent bid does somehow come in for Ambrose then he'll be off too. A rough diamond told me a lad he knew spoke with some scouts from Groningen on a Ferry to Amsterdam that they had watched Rogne :/ The money generated off these sales plus any which would have been put aside anyway I would use to buy BOTH Russel and Mackay Steven for the league and a crack at Europe, a new CB, a new forward and reserve 'keeper. If I could pick it would be an experienced bargain or maybe Clark of Villa. Up top i'd go for Graziano Pelle a guy who has caught my eye watching dutch footy late at night. He's only on loan at Feyenoord from Parma as well so at 27 surely they wouldn't command a huge fee for him.

Agree1 Disagree0

Actually cancel that Pelle guy turns out he has signed permanently.

Agree0 Disagree0

We need a creative midfield player someone who can run at defenses and split with a pass a petrov or a collins but the biggest miss is set pieces when defenders clear we lose possession we don't have a petrov lurking outside the box to rattle it back into the top corner maybe a weakness in lennon being a defensive mid himself looking back when petrov and lennon where both in the team 1-0 up and playing out last ten min lennon was best man on the park but 0-1 down and chasing the game he took a bit of stick from the fans playing the ball backwards when the team needed to be going forward that seems to be running through the whole midfield just now playing it backwards instead of forwards

Agree0 Disagree0

To say your worried of Wilson cause of his first year is dumb, no offense. He was injuries and new, he has played every cl game against the best in the world and did not look out of place at all, we need to find a good partner to go with him cause Ambrose is not the partner Wilson needs or deserves. If we could find another Wilson to go with him and have Forster in nets our d would be hard to break down.
But to say you are not convinced cause he had a bad start and over looking what he has done is shocking! Put next year will tell and I hope he keeps it up as he looks to solid and could join the England squad

agree with most of your choices, and would happily let hooper go for £6/7million, he has had his head turned and isn't the hungry player of 12months ago, we have cover for him short term in stokes, watt but need a strong c. f tho, as for izzy and forrest i hope i'm proved wrong but i would happily take money for them, izzys delivery recently has been terrible when he has time and space and his defensive duties are poor at best, mulgrew needs to really get it together soon as i think he is a shadow of last year, ambrose, well enough said there, apart from barcelona game he always looks like a gary caldwell disaster waiting to happen. we have definitely the nucleus of a brilliant squad but people do need to be moved on and new hungry blood brought in. hail hail, god bless the celtic+

Just have to say one final thought about the juve round, in all honesty juve only scored 2 goals and we gave them the other 3. For if we didn't make some dumb plays the tie would have been a lot closer in score and would have given us an extra jump, but we had more possession and shots just lack the quality that we have had before, cause we did come close to scoring a couple over the tie just unlucky. It would have been nice to have the ref last night in the first game then the ref we had.
What is great to see is that our fans are getting tons of credit as being great for the game and for this to come from Italy where we made fans and are liked with thier club says something special. Well done to everyone associated to the club and we showed the world what fans and a club should be like and the world seemed to take notice and agrees that we are at the top fans of around the world. Like Lennon there is "something inside so strong" with this club and the world as seen this after missing it for a few years, more friends and fans made around the world.

Believable9 Unbelievable5

In all honesty,,, Juve scored 5 because that was the score overall! Goals are lost in most games due to team/individual errors and you can't discount them because it was an error, a goals a goal! it's no different because its Celtic! Yes we could have had a goal or 2 but that's the beauty of the game, they were happy for us to have possession and beat us on the break, home and away, now that's good.

Wow thanks for telling us all that a goal is a goal, thanks for clearing that up! Did I ever say that those goals didn't count? You just go and say what I said in a different and unjust way which leads me to think you migh not be a fan but wtv. If hooper holds his ground and dosent run back or effe dosent try to run out the ball or plays an in coming ball properly we don't lose those goals, and one further if Forster stops gives no rebound then they only score 1 goal over the tie.
If we play like we did in group stage then those mistakes aren't there and hence we have a better shot and media don't say we were out classed. My point was we could have beat them if we didn't beat ourselves or at least be close and so it wasn't such a cake walk for them as many thought

Agree1 Disagree1

It's called experiance. And now the squad has a bit more of it they are unlikely to make the same mistakes again.

Agree0 Disagree1

Just been on th Juve fan blog As you would expect they are crowing about how well they did against " inferior opposition " A word of warning for them Celtic created around 6 otr seven decent chances over the two games. We should have taken some of them. A better quality side would have - this I have to admit. So, let's wait and see how they get on in the quarters

All good things come to an end. and so it passed with our Champions League exploits.
Congratulations to all involved with the squad, from Peter Lawwell right down to the tea lady. Stand up and be proud because you have warmed our hearts since the season began. 10 out of 10 for enthusiasm, effort and determination.
There really is no club like the mighty Glasgow Celtic FC. We are priviliged to be part of the most incredible sporting family in the world.

Hail Hail

Celtic need another Sutton up front, what's there now is not the answer for Europe, SPL ok but a better calibre of player is needed on the big stage
