Probably just paper talk, so far this year we've been linked with dykes, cosgrove and shankland and nothing is concrete so it's just pure speculation.
With finances tight due to the virus I can't see lenny and the board spending needless money on players who aren't really going to make us better than we already are.

I don’t understand the hype around Dykes. Yes he played well the first game against us. The next game at Parkhead he never kicked the ball in 90 minutes. And again the 2-2 game he was anonymous until big Julien made a mess of it allowing him to set up a goal. This guy scored 13 goals in over 100 appearances for QOS in the Championship and Livi want £2m for him. Think I’ll pass.

Don't think Turnbull played after injury did he? Sure he had another operation to remove pins to allow him time to recover for next season starting.

Totally agree, don't see what the big hype is with dykes, when you play for a smaller team and you come up against better teams you have nothing to lose so you usually tend to play that bit better to impress and he falls into that category, nothing more than bog standard scottish premiership class at best.
I think david Turnbull came off the bench in the last game before the season stopped but could be wrong, he got a bad injury which can happen to anyone but if he stays fit and isn't constantly injured he's got the potential, similar to christies situation a few years ago, raw talent that just needs developing.

I'd definitely take Turnbull. Puts in a shift and was amongst the goals during his real breakthrough season. Rogic 37 goals in 178 games not enough for a number 10 at a club as big as Celtic. Turnbull 15 goals in 34 games. I know who I'd rather have in the squad.

Aaron hickey will be a fantastic player the potential the boy has got is unreal fantastic with both feet can find a pass strong in the tackle and the boy can play, when I watch him play it looks to me he would actually a great centre mid but who am i.

I don't see the hype with hickey either if I'm honest, played well against us in the cup final last year and scored a cracker against hibs but to me hasn't really stood out any other time, hearts being bottom of the table with him in defence doesn't bode well either.
Don't think he's needed at celtic either with frimpong and Taylor there who have plenty of potential.

I wouldn’t expect Hickey to be a K Tierney . No other player could be so brazen as to spend his entire short playing career with us, boasting about the great Celtic person he was. The way he spoke there can never be one like him, Yet he spent a year plotting his escape to Arsenal and crept away in the dark of night .
His dream move has had him getting splinters in his arse on their bench.

watch a full hearts game and keep a close eye on hickey remembering the boy is only 17 and it would be hard to believe that without jumping on the bandwagon that hickey is overrated how anybody can't see the potential in that boy is beyond me, saying he only played well against us and scored against his maybe highlights that they are high profile games that folk actually watched if so played well in both and the games that folk don't watch believe me he plays very well and i don't think a 17 on his own can make that hearts defence leak less goals.

Watched plenty of hearts games and yes he has played well for a lad at 17 but he hasn't really stood out that much either which is being mentioned, particularly in a few games last season I remember watching him get ripped to shreds against Hamilton's right winger and again against ross county.
I'm not complying he's at fault for hearts downfall on the defensive side but he is part of the back 4 and to me he hasn't been that great worth taking a punt on, he isn't any better than what we already have so think I'll pass.

i very much doubt he was ripped to shreds but ill take your word for it, I've no doubt he will easily be better than what we've got anyway time will tell the rumour doesn't seem to be going away and a couple jam tarts in my work tell me we are definitely interested.
{Ed007's Note - We're definitely interested, Liam but Hickey will be looking for some kind of promise (I won't say a guarantee) that he will get game time - maybe us buying him and loaning him out will be an option.
One thing in our favour is that we are due 30% of any fee Hearts get, so say someone bids a million for him we are due £300k of that whereas if Hearts sell to us for a million they get the full million as Celtic have said they will waive their right to the 30%.}

Hickey is a fantastic talent, to be playing week in week out at his age is remarkable. He is obviously too good to leave out the team at Hearts and that says a lot for any 16/17 year old in any top flight club anywhere in the world.

I'm only mentioning the 2 games that stuck out the most I watched hearts play and he didn't have a good game, but taking everything into account he's only a young lad and that's got to be expected, if we go for him and he signs then he'll need to be loaned out for at least 2 seasons before he's ready to push for first team.
Good bit of business with celtic securing the 30% sell on clause but with a year left on his deal it just depends how much he'll go for, seen one report yesterday that lazio were about to bid 90k for him! 😅.
