I read in the paper today that 2 English teams were putting in bids of 9 million for Ivan Ramis. Is that the player we nearly signed a couple of windows ago? He must have came on leaps and bounds

Yip. Add to that Arsenal paying £13m for Giroud who we could have signed for £1m two seasons ago and we missed out on a couple of crackers. Still we got Glenn Loovens and Daryl Murphy!!!

Neil Lennon statement - He said: 'We've signed Fraser Forster on a four-year contract and that wasn't a major issue for us.

"We're working very hard in the background. We are a big name and we've got a big reputation and obviously progress in Europe will enhance that and our budget is unchanged.'

Good to hear the dark side haven't affected our plans
In Lennon We Trust

We have got rid of dead wood at the club so made a lot of savings there. hope we sign 3 more players before qualifiers

I thought it was very good business at the time when we signed players like Nakamura, Zen Zhi, Juarez, Ki, Wanyama and Izzy etc as it raises our profile (despite being in a poor league) and generates interest in The Celtic all over the globe.
I know Ki has some faults but he is young and a full International and a fine prospect.
He is not a tiger-in-the-tackle, but we have have had many ball-players in the past that have been complimented by midfield battlers, so I would like to see him develope at Paradise - unless a ridiculous offer is recieved along the way.
I also hope the 2/3 new signings NL is cchasing can be un-veiled in plenty of time for CL quals.

PS: Welcome back Ed007, hope ur ok?

Nice to see you up and about Ed007.
I fear we could have missed the boat with Ki. 6 million was a decent offer for him. I don't really believe QPR want him We don't need him in the midfield but that's not to take anything away from him as he is a good player. The cash could have come in handy for purchasing a decent CB, and maybe another forward.
Don't know about everybody else, but I'm starting to get a bit excited about the up-coming season. A decent run of CLQ's and we could be back up in the big time.

I really think we should have accepted the £6million bid for Ki from Rubin Kazan. That is more than enough for a player who wouldn't be in our first choice 11. The South Korean star that QPR are after is Park and with Ki going to the Olympics and having to do his National Service in the next 4-5 years I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't receive another bid for him this summer

Ki was right - Korean Park Ji-Sung is switching from Man United to QPR on a 5 Million pound deal. That's that!
