lmfao !

Southampton were told they couldn't have Hooper so Rangers offered them Lafferty for £1.75 million and were told "No Thanks".

Believable21 Unbelievable6

Hail hail, the futures bright cos the oranje light is burning out, could not be happier

Agree0 Disagree0

Cant wait till they horrible lot are no more than a cringeworthy blight on society's memory

Agree0 Disagree0

Is this really the way we want to win the title by our rivals goin out of buisness me honestly would like to c them at their best would make it alot sweeter than it is just now we need them the same way thay need us {Ed007's Note - Maybe they should have thought about the good of the Scottish game when they were using dubious business practises. In the 80's, 4 different teams won the league, Hearts came within a point of winning it, two teams in European finals......then David Murray came along.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye and put money into his team seems to me like alot of our fans are nieve about the situation of how good it would be for them to go out of buisness me for one i love the competition with rangers and i am hoping they do stay in buisness any REAL celtic fan would think the same can u imagine not having old firm games there is nothin better than gloating after we beat them would be rubbish not havin that any more {Ed007's Note - It is still nobody's fault but their own. Nobody helped out CFC, Gretna, Airdrie or are helping Hearts, why should Rangers be treated differently from any other club or business. The consequences of any wrongdoings should be theirs, and theirs alone to face. Every other club paid their way, when they couldn't they had to face the penalties.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Am not sayin it isnt their fault am just sayin it wouldnt do us or the scottish game any good most players who come here always talk about the old firm game no old firm game no sly money come on ed take the rose tinted glasses off we know other clubs make good money off the old firm visiting their ground {Ed007's Note - Us and the Scottish game will survive. I still can't see Rangers go into liquidation. Administration is highly probable, so there will still be a Rangers. Rangers will be back eventually. The Sly money is not that much and the contract is still there and binding. The club selling streaming rights around the world (as the big teams in the EPL are looking at) could easily cover the Sly money. My point is whether CFC or Scottish football needs Rangers or not, if they have broke the rules they should be punished accordingly, they do not deserve any special treatment.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree totally wi ed n the other sane fans who cares about rankers they brought all this on themselves n wot do we nd rangers 4?2 bring shame on scotland with fans behaviour not paying tax n all sorts of dodgy dealings players who sign 4 the hoops may cite the old firm games as 1 reason but i guarantee u champions league football n winning trophies is wot they really sign 4 n im disgusted at david cameron sayin he hopes the tax office cum 2 an agreement with portsmouth is it me?this is the same guy who wants 2 make thousans of honest hard working taxpayers in employment unemployed n yet hes currying for non taxpayers 2 b treated with leniency?that is disgusting n the guy should b ashamed rankers r no different 2 joe bloggs on the street if they owe money they should made 2 pay it all back just like portsmouth n i will laff my head off wen they finally go into admin anybody think it looks like its takin its toll on fat sally?he looks like hes aged overnite n any more points dropped n its gdbye 2 him as well as gd bye 2 rankers n i wont miss them hail hail IS1888

Agree0 Disagree0

Main reason for trying to sell Lafferty is a clause in his contract to pay an additional 800,000 to Burnley based on 100 appearences for Rangers. He is on 99.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its 250,000

hi ed, what was the reason of the falling out during the talks to sign leon best i heard that we didn't like his demands personnally i think its a blessing in disquise we didn't sign him. {Ed007's Note - Knowing what I know of Best it will have been a mixture of money and his ego.}

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Cheers ed i had heard he has an over elflated ego anyway {Ed007's Note - Vastly mate. God knows why. I don't even rate him that highly.}

Agree0 Disagree0

There are whispers of him saying that he would never play in a "3rd world country like scotland". newcastle were horrified, celtic responded by saying f*** you, we don't need immature attitudes at the club.

and Ed's right, he aint that hot IMO

Agree0 Disagree0

Hard for a guy in Newcastle to call us third world.
Hes not setting the league alight, but maybe Lennon seen something in him, most of our signings are well researched.

Agree0 Disagree0

I doubt everything I've heard above to be honest.

I've also heard "Family reasons" but Newcastle is maybe a couple of hours on the train tops so visiting them a couple of times a week wouldn't be impossible even if it's awkward.

I reckon he just wanted to stay and fight for his place at Newcastle rather than play in a piss-poor league with probably just as much in the way of competition for places. Fair play to the lad if you ask me. As far as I'm aware he's not that far down the pecking order. I was pretty surprised when I heard we'd gone for him...really ambitious attempted signing given his role at Newcastle.

Agree0 Disagree0

^^^^ Really good of Leon Best's agent to drop in. I really don't rate this guy at all, and I for one was delighted we didn't sign him!

Agree0 Disagree0

I heard it was for family reasons, that seems fair enough to me. - Quacksandpiper

Agree0 Disagree0

He's injured now anyway so what goes around comes around! Hope he's happy warming the Bench at Best( pardon the pun) as he ain't gonna shift the 2 African Strikers who look red hot! He'll be back playing in the Championship very very soon good luck in winning no trophys ever! lol

Ed have you heard anything about certain players contracts are not owend by Rangers ?

Bhaldrick {Ed007's Note - Rumour at the time went round that the bumper deals handed out in the summer were contracts to a one of Whytes companies. I honestly can't see it with the 3rd party ownership rules and the suggested changes:

Ed do you know if Ian Black is suspended for Wednesday,would love for it to be true,also looks like wee Templeton could be out with a groin injury,which will help us out,cracking wee player,their best player by far.MACCA {Ed007's Note - Yes Black is suspended.}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Zaliukas is also suspended.

Agree0 Disagree0

Marian kello look a doubt as hes fell out with mad vlad also! {Ed007's Note - He refused a transfer to Vienna and Vlad has told Paulo Sergio he hasn't to be selected.

Agree0 Disagree0

Is Zaliukas suspended as well? Got to come flying out the blocks for this difficult game like last seasons win there

heard today that rangers are going into admin 100% end of this week.heard it from a major ibrox shareholder.know theres been rumour after rumour about when its happening,but this seemed pretty concrete to me,artybhoy.heard anything ed?hope your niece is better soon mate. {Ed007's Note - Thanks a lot Arty, she is getting there. As for the admin rumours, they are flying about all over the place, it could happen at any time.}

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Cant see it happening until the tax case verdict arrives myself

Paddy

Agree0 Disagree0

I heard the wer e goin into admin last october , then november, then december, then january, and now im hearing febuary, and its always an ibrox insider they cant seem to get there dates right

Just the source it came from,and who he told(not me directly,obviously)made me believe it instantly.all i can say guys,artybhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it's unlikely just now as the Jelavic money will probably keep them going for a month or two.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes i dont claim to understand it but cant see the beneift to going there just now and as asomeone said, with the Jelavic money it would need to be voluntary for the next month. {Ed007's Note - Administration, even liquidation does not need to be voluntary, courts can order it, and winding up orders over unpaid debts.}

shock horror Dundee Utd AWAY whats that 9th consecutive away game in the cup and theres no conspiracy haha sure F.T SFA

Believable8 Unbelievable3

Interesting fact.

Probability of it happening on any given occasion = 1 in 2. Seems pretty short odds, wouldn't care either way.

However, the odds of that happening consecutively = one in 2 to the power 9 = 1 in 512.

Pretty long odds even if it is a purely random occurrence.

Anyone know what the record for number of consecutive games drawn home or away in the cup is? 9 times in a row must be pushing it.

hi ed do you know how long johnny russell has left on his contract and what you think united would accept for him {Ed007's Note - He is contracted to Dundee United until 30th June 2014. I have no idea how much they would want for him.}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

They value him at 1.5m based on his length of contract, age n potential. we did put in 2 bids pre transfer window. i posted this on numerous occasions. come from east coast n work for local paper

Away to tannadice next round shock a roonie could not have guessed that

Believable8 Unbelievable1

As hard a draw as we could have got but we usually do well against utd. They usually have a bit of a go and it often suit us.

Agree0 Disagree0

What will happen with the 21st game on the season tickets now? Assuming there's only 19 league games there'll only have been 20 games covered by it. Will they arrange a friendly or something?

Elsewhere, the improbably-named Rangers winger Mervan Celik says his former club GAIS are owed £240,000 by Rangers despite suggestions that GAIS had not offered a contract to Celik within the required time after his contract expired. Celik insists that an extension had been offered. The Rag adds that should the situation remain unresolved, then FIFA may be asked to arbitrate.

Interesting stuff were is this money going to come from or will he just not bother until taken to court.

Ian {Ed007's Note - It doesn't matter if a contract was offered or not, development compensation is still due as he is only 21.}

This is getting better and better by the day lol
