Ed what are your thoughts on where stokes stands now that we have brought in lassad and miku and also with watt progressing. Think he may see alot of the bench this season IMO

Celticthomas {Ed007's Note - I don't see why Stokes needs to be the one benched Thomas, he has proven time and tie again he can score goals.}

Believable8 Unbelievable4

I think hooper could do with being rested as he seems to be just off the pace it might be he is just needing store with him I don't know but he doesn't seem the same dynamic player he was last season

Hail hail

Marco1888 {Ed007's Note - I couldn't figure out what 'store' was meant to be Marco, sorry. Predictive text I guess, was it Stokes???}

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree I think hooper should be on the bench purely because of his attitude isn't right just now. When someone misses places a pass or doesn't pass but shoots he's flinging his arms about, yeh frustration sets in but encourage not discourage that's what am teaching my under 14's just now.

Stokes scores the goals n barely any huffs but time will tell, we have a season to tinker with the team n see who fits the bill, on miku I think he has been brought in purely for champions league in my opinion anyway.

Cumby Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Hooper has benn immense so far in his selfless teamwork. stokes has never improved since he came to parkhead. lennon will not show any loyalty when it comes to goalscorers. {Ed007's Note - So it will be one of the new Bhoys starting?}

Agree1 Disagree1

No ed i dont think lennon has ever shown great confidence in stokes . i think he will go with hooper lassad and watt returns to bench .

Agree0 Disagree0

Possibly Hooper had one eye on the transfer window as he lacked sharpness?
Whatever the reason, when all the strikers (Stokes especially) are fully fit and focussed we should be able to convert more of the chances that are currently being missed.
With such good competition it will only benefit the team.

Jungle Jim

Agree0 Disagree0

NL has already stated that Miko will be the perfect partner for Hooper. Stokes will be spending a lot of time on the bench and in the stand if these two stay clear of injuries. Hbhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Frustrates the life out of me that we have 2 players there who can do the damage, but we have 2 new signings who we haven't seen playing yet and we are calling on putting them in the stands. Let's see the lads first before jumping to conclusions. I also don't this it's coincidence hooper isn't playing perticularly well when stokes is injured.

Agree0 Disagree0

Stokes scores nearly same amount of goals and ok he tries strange passes sometimes but i do like him as a player, cocky and confident in his own game, bit lazy but not as i see it as lazy as Hooper, yet lennon cant see fault in hooper for some reason, similar record goals per game stokes as good? but i dont pick the team lennon does, HH KTF Davybhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Stokes is a goalscorer but he doesnt have the strength to hold the ball up like Hooper. Thats why Hooper gets the nod. Simple.

Agree0 Disagree0

al probs get shot down for sayin this but a hink wae hooper sumtimes he mite not look interested or bothered because he knew he always gona be the 1st striker on the team sheet anyway so mibi miku n lassad comin in wil gee him a boot up the **** then again a dont think hes played that bad a thot he was great 1st half against hibs

gunniebhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Hooper steps up in the big games stokes is only good for the spl not europe or old firms. also he gets caught offside far to often.

Today is the 81 st anniversary of the death of John Thomson who died
5 September 1931. Sad to think of this great goalkeeper's career being
cut so tragically short.

I took a trip to Parkhead, to the dear old Paradise..
and as the teams came out sure a tear fell from my eyes.
For a famous face was missing was from the green and white brigade
and they told me young John Thomson...
his last game he had played..

...... So play up Glasgow Celtic,
stand up and play the game for in your goal
a spirit stands JOHN THOMSON is his name

You will never be forgotten by the Celtic fans Neil T

This may be a small point but perhaps others feel like me regarding the first team squad page on the official CFC website. IMHO the page is pretty amateurish and it should be updated immediately a player leaves or is loaned out. They should also all be wearing the latest kit particularly as it is our 125th anniversary year. Some people may think I am being churlish and that there are many more important things staff should be doing, however this is bad for our image and portrays the club as being slow and uninterested in detail. Sopot Celt. PS yes I am miserable and middle aged.....

Believable15 Unbelievable3

I happen to agree with you. If a player has been with us 3 years and his photo is 3 years old it's just not good enough. Getting a camera man to the training ground and lining them up isn't difficult. It's all about discipline and attention to detail.

Agree0 Disagree1

Agree totally.
Perhaps you should email the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

As one miserable middle aged man to another, great point. A club the size of ours must have someone who works full time on the website so there is no excuse and as far as I'm aware we also employ photographers at the club. It reflects badly on Celtic and gives our critics more fuel. The same thing happens on my company website and it just looks lazy.
Rant Over!

BigRab

Agree0 Disagree0

Glad you said it mate, its been bugging me aswell.

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree with this ! It's rediculous they cant keep on top of it. Thats gotta be someones department and they are not making a good job of it . Surely this info should all be updated instantly ? Last season was hard to tell who was at the club and who was on loan.... Anyway keep up the good work Lenny and the Bhoys! HH
OriginalMikeYBhoY

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree mate, this lack of attention to detail happens in my company. Never used to b like that n I've seen it happen over last few yrs where we've had a significant transitional phase with many new staff on payroll. I work for a national publisher n thing like that used to b changed immediately but not now. Agree in that it gives off wrong impression. Stevo Dundee

Agree0 Disagree0

It's supposed to be about us the paying fans. The customers.
The website is the club's primary mode of communication with its fans.
It's got to improve! Enough said.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said. As a Celtic fan and a Football Manager addict(!) the images are shocking, both for 1st team and youth players. I'm involved in the cutting of player pics for Football Manager doing team packs for the game and it's so infuriating when you see the Celtic images, especially considering the size of the club. When Ki left, I wanted him to go to Arsenal....for the simple reason that on the day, the same day, a player joins them, they get the photo done in new team kit straight away!

Agree0 Disagree0

Not paying attention to the website accuracy shows that it not regarded as important. This is 2012- I could not submit this comment without using a computer. Luddites in charge of the CFC website

Agree0 Disagree0

The website is the World's window to the club. If not maintained timely and to the correct quality, it creates an impression the club is shoddy, indifferent regarding its image, brand. That there's ill discipline, laziness and lack of customer focus or concern.
We know this isn't the case, so why send this message out? Get a grip put in the effort and get on top of it.

Been trying to get a flight organised for Lisbon but it appears all direct flights stop at the end of October. Can anyone offer any advice for traveling to Lisbon direct from Glasgow or Edinburgh.
Happy bhoy

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Mate i think you answered that with your question , if they all stop at end of october then you obviously can't go direct from e or g.. maybe look at the package deals ie thomas cook they will go direct , but they may be full already.. shamrock

Agree0 Disagree0

Mate you could try british airways to lisbon or one of the near spanish airports the scheduled flights then get a train or bus, but the likes of ryanair and flybe etc only have one flight per week. so it wont be cheap. shamrock

Agree0 Disagree0

Try Air France. Last time i went from Aberdeen - Paris - Lisbon

Agree0 Disagree0

U can fly to faro from glasgow. faro is a 30-45 min drive from lisbon, i know this because i went 2 portugal 3 weeks ago on holiday

Agree0 Disagree0

Were going from Manchester, direct flights from there

Agree0 Disagree0

Try expedia. but expect to go via london or some other european hub. i have went with them in the past and its been ok.

Agree0 Disagree0

Try flying from Stansted to Porto with Ryanair on the 20th and back on the 21st for 50quid or so. You'll have to flights to and from Stansted but that shouldn't be too expensive with Easyjet. You can get the train from Porto to Lisbon for about 25 and it takes a couple of hours.

1903

Agree0 Disagree0

Faro is 135 miles from Lisbon - if you drove it in 30-45 minutes you did well. The train is a high speed one and takes a couple of hours.

Agree0 Disagree0

Check BA.COM GLAGOW to HEATHROW then HEATHROW to LISBON 21st , return 22nd total price £231.80

Agree0 Disagree0

BA Glasgow to Heathrow then Lisbon on 20th, return on 21st is £270.

Agree0 Disagree0

If going to Lisbon with BA you will have to return 22nd earliest as BA only have 2 flights from Lisbon a daY and last flight is 11.20am

It would appear Hooper and Wanyama being offered new contracts, another shrewd bit of business in my opinion. The way i see it the vultures are circling and in the current climate i would not be surprised to see our board cashing on these players albeit january or next summer. Lets hope they re-invest some proper money this time.

Hi Ed, a mate in work was telling me that Templeton knocked back a bid from Celtic before he signed for Rangers, can you confirm if this is accurate? {Ed007's Note - If CFC had bid for Templeton he would be a CFC player.}

Believable9 Unbelievable9

How do u know that ed ?? {Ed007's Note - Hhmmm well let's see, a boy that grew up a CFC supporter, going to win SPL trophies, cups and the chance to play in Europe or a brand new club in the fourth tier of Scottish football. Not much choice there really, is there?}

Agree1 Disagree0

Not with a name like david cooper templeton boys a bluenose cant blame him though would u want to stay at tynecastle if either of the old film came in for u {Ed007's Note - Really, I think he would disagree with you, but don't let the truth get in the way of your daydreams. My nephew has his autograph from when we met him at a derby match a couple of years ago, and that didn't happen in the Rangers end:

www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/david-templeton-i-grew-up-a-celtic-1077623

Agree0 Disagree0

I said this in an earlier post, he simply wasn't wanted by NL. He is not Celtic class and will settle to his own level in D3. If he had been offered a chance at Celtic he would be a Celtic player, no doubt about it. Sevco City are welcome to him because we are building a team of players with ambition, something Templeton has none of. Leaving top flight football to play for a bottom feeder league team hardly constitutes the right career move.

BigRab

Agree0 Disagree0

He is defnitely a celtic fan { or used to be} just like that big dumplin kevin kyle.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldnt be the first time thats happened kenny dalgleish rangers fan became a celtic legend heard it was the same for scott brown kevin thompson was a celtic fan too with having the likes of forrest u defo dont need him lol

Agree0 Disagree0

What's in a name, eh? Rangers are signing players that wouldn't have got near their team last year. Why would we want them now?

(Oh except Sandaza who knocked them back in the SPL in January but signed for them in the 4th tier. Work that one out!)

Agree0 Disagree0

His father Henry (Who played for Airdrie and Ayr Utd) supported the late Rangers FC , David was known as a Celtic fan , i don't think Celtic would be interested though , unfortunately the lad isn't good enough to get a regular game for his Bhoyhood Heroes , hence the reason he settled for Sevcovians FC in the pub league .

Agree0 Disagree0

So effin what about his name (he never picked it) or his allegiance. Boy wldnt replace anyone in our side, end of. Stevo Dundee

Agree0 Disagree0

Pretty sure in his 1st interview after signin for sevco he said some of my close friends and family supported rangers(and newco) but he never said he did .plus he's pure Colin nish wouldnt get a game in our under 19s hail hail
Cha67

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm glad we didn't get Templeton. He will fit in well with a wee diddy team like sevco. It shows the level of his ambition if he wants to go to the bottom rung, 4th division of Scottish football. I'm from Leeds and we were meant to be looking at him but if that's where his ambition lies I'm glad we didn't get him. To grow up a Celtic fan and then lower yourself and your career to that level of football is embarrassing. Just like his team, he is now a laughing stock down here. I could never ever go and play for Man Utd. I seen on a website even Hearts said his attitude stinks and moving to sevco just proves there is something not right.

Agree0 Disagree0

James Forrest, Kris Commons, Georgious Samares,Dylan McGeough & Paddy McCourt just 5 reasons why we didnt go near Templeton, even if he was a Tim.

barry the janny

Does anybody know how much jet2 are charging for the advertised barcelona flight , ive done the trip before but with thomas cook but was kind of pricey for just a day out , ive no doubt i will get a ticket over there .. anybody help ?

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Rip off , it's £127.49 flying out and £198.49 to fly back . Still to get digs and ticket . The travel agents and airlines doubled and even trebled prices for CL dates for Barca and Lisbon.........DH

Agree0 Disagree0

Its a disgrace and profiteering sold as doing a good turn. My son is having the same problems, luckily I am in Spain over the dates of the match. Not a criticism of the Club but here is another PR and organisational flop for CFC. On the one hand we are recognised and lauded by the Club and worldwide as the best fans in the world, unfortunately we are not the richest and time and again massive sacrifices are having to be made from decent ordinary working folk to follow our beloved team. Come on CFC subsidise or organise some flights, we are not on a bevvy run! This is about cheering the Bhoys on in the lions den, against all the odds when we are playing probably the best club team in history which has ever graced the football field. The more of us that are there the better. Just give us a wee helping hand Celtic; is that too much to ask from those who give so much? Sopot Celt

Celtic have McFadden on trial again don't know why he is past it and won't bring anything to the team . Only my opinion what do u think .
Paddy

Believable11 Unbelievable18

Also heard tonight he is going on trial this week at some point also heard liverpool looking to take him on 6mnts deal {Ed001's Note - hahaha I thought Bondie was winding me up about someone posting claiming Liverpool were looking at McFadden! Liverpool have never and do not have any interest in him. There is more chance of me signing for 6 months than him.}

Agree0 Disagree1

I hope not, but lennon was trying to bring in a winger and midfielder so faddy may fit the bill

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with u ed, I don't see liverpool being interested in him...if the likes of wigan and co aint even lookin at him I doubt liverpool would plus they have stated that there will be no signings even if they were free agents. If they wanted someone past his best they would have re-signed owen lol

Agree0 Disagree0

McFadden if fit could still do a job in the SPL and would be a good squad player and if he could show some of the form he used to have, then it could be a clever signing even if for 1 yr with mabye an option, also the younger players would benefit from his experience so if the money is right and i dont think he is in a position to demand high wages, could be an interesting signing

Agree0 Disagree0

Give us peace. He stated he was not interested in Celtic on more than one occassion now he is desperate. We should not touch him with a barge pole!
