Just read that Rodgers is the favourite now and after what he said there could be something in it . i am not to sure about him but has good experience and a good level what everyone one else think of him.

Wouldn't want him. Landed on his feet with Saurez one season. Flattered to decieve thereafter. You just have to look at what Klopp has done to see how much he was underachieving. As well as which he's a total David Brent. Between him and Mark "here's my opinion" warburton, my ears couldn't take it.

Rodger's finished second in the league, I don't believe that was just because of Suarez. klopp is sitting eighth, I wouldn't say klopp has put him to shame.

I would prefer to have Rodgers to McKay, Lennon, Lambert or Hartley.

Rodgers was there across 4 seasons. He finished 2nd once, and it was the season that Suarez was arguably in the top three players in the world. Without Suarez (on that form) ? Distinctly average. He was sacked with the team tenth - so even by your black and white standards, Klopp HAS improved them. And that's saying nothing of his 7th and 6th finishes. Klopp has been there half a season and they are much improved - with 99% the same squad Rodgers had. They have got to a domestic cup final and are in a European cup final. I'm far from a Liverpool fan but that's to be applauded - and is a massive improvement on what Rodgers was serving up.

putting aside his time at liverpool he did have swansea playing some good stuff on a lower budget i wouldn't mind him as manager but it needs sorted sooner rather than later to give whoever gets the job time to evaluate the squad beforw champions league qualifiers

One of my main problems I'd be concerned with is his transfer record. Nearly all the players he signed at Liverpool ended up unused or loaned out. Some of his big buys have been poor . With our limited budget, whoever comes in has to get it right regarding transfers as we have wasted too much on inferior players . It also opens up a different point where as he would be on a big salary, if we are prepared to pay a decent wage, surely it opens up a bigger pool of potential managers that we could be looking at .

{Ed007's Note - Brendan Rodgers didn't sign any players for Liverpool he was merely sometimes part of a committee with little input until he was removed from the committee, not the manager's job. Rodgers had very little to do with player recruitment at Liverpool.}

Even looking at the job Lennon did at Bolton, - it shows how much perception and having a few cronies in the right places can help! Steve Evans could hardly get a player on loan at Rotheram and kept them up every year. Even the job he's done at Leeds spending 500k, - that's just an example by the way. Lennon brought in around 15 players at Bolton!

Lennon is down to 2/ 1 in some bookies. It will be an absolute scandal if he comes back. Like Ed has touched on, you've got all the weasels in the squad, aka the senior players saying they would prefer him. They're like a cancer in a club, and when you have journalists helping the cause, well it makes my blood boil. He did a very average job in his 4 years. I don't want to be disrespectful, and Lennon was a good servant but I don't want him as the next manager. I don't remember there ever being as many good managers out a job, it would be unforgivable to give it to him again. I haven't spoken to one person that wants him as manager.

Same here delphic fingers crossed they don't choose lenny. Love the guy but now not the time for a return for his sake as well as ours. The hatred for everyone and anyone coming from ibrox would go into melt down if he came back. It would give them a focal point and I would seriously fear for his life this time. Not just that we've got to aim higher than lennon if we're going for 10

Do not usually post any rumours but was talking to someone who told him that Lawwell was taking up a new post in the U. S of A and that his son would be taking over his role and that MON would be taken on as Director of Football with B Rodgers or Di Matteo being his managerial appointment.

I might be off here but i doubt Lawwell can just appoint his son as successor unless he was the majority shareholder (and he's not) .

Sketchy reports saying we're approaching Keane again. He was on my list anyway, but just started thinking that that man could be the catalyst we need to get the BS sorted out from dressing room to board room. MO'N as DoF would round things off nicely.

Ye Jim I really believe so.
One good season at Sunderland that's it.
I can't understand this opinion that he will sort out the dressing room when at both Sunderland and Ipswich Town there were major problems in his dressing roomso.
The players threw parties when he left.
I don't think he would be on anyone's list if he wasn't irish and played for the club.
People saying him over lambert also baffle me when lambert has achieved more as a manager.

One sensational season at Sunderland I would say when they won the Championship. And I hate Sunderland.

To be fair it's not like he's been a manager for 20 years either. I don't quite know what would be fair to expect of that Sunderland in the BPL apart from survival.

Ok on the face Ipswich was poor but, find me a manager who does better every season, and if you do, ask them to come to us. I like Lambert too, but wouldn't say no because of a poor spell at Villa.

As for the dressing rooms, I can only speak for Sunderland, he fined players for being late to training and dropped players when they were late for the bus. If I'm late for work - I get docked. If they needed a kick up the backside, he gave it. He certainly wasn't unfair to people from what I'm told. DiCanio; now there's a guy who mistreats people. Roy Keane was just trying to set standards. His way. There were people in the background at Sunderland who weren't helping him, RK has said as long as people still there stay there, managers will continue to walk. SOUND FAMILIAR?

With the correct DoF (MO'N) , he could be great for us. RK is a catalyst I think we could need. There'd be more to us getting RK in than meets the eye. I hope he sits down with DD and spells things out.

For me, it's got nowt to do with being Irish or Celtic minded mate believe me.

Keane and Walters had to be separated after coming to blows.
If a dressing room hates you that much that they have a party when you leave then I'd say it's a problem.
Also Jim ask yourself why celtic is the only job he is ever linked with.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Walters should feel lucky then , most people that come to blows with Keane usually only need separated from the floor afterwards. So now that fighting with team-mates is ruling candidates out of the running that should put any Larsson talk to bed, remember he picked a fight a fight with Tosh McKinlay thinking he was a hardman and got his arse handed to him and a shiner to boot.
Or is it one rule for one and a different rule for others, Remember Owen Coyle shouldn't get the job because he turned it down, is that the same rule for Larsson who turned it down or Keane who tuned it down as well?}

06 May 2016 14:53:35
Wasn't a team mates it was at Ipswich.
I don't care if anone has turned us down before as long as they are good enough I'd still employ them.
I just don't think Keane is good enough but then neither is larsson or coyle.

One thing you could guarantee if Keane turned up Commons, Forrest and Co wouldn't hang around. Their wee egos would pass them down over the hadrain wall to some 1st or 2nd div side that might fancy a gamble.
