Danny Rose will be on about £100k a week.

Danny Rose a player who is still very capable but only going to regress with no sell on value on astronomical wages is the exact opposite of what our board would sanction.

Laxalt seems to be flavour of the month; but is not the answer.
He gives away too much possession and free-kicks and like his counter part on the other side (Frimpong) has no quality final ball.
If either of them could cross or pass more accurately we would have scored four or five at Ibrox.
I don't know the stats, (where's Buzz when I need him) - but I would even say Taylor has had more assists and even tackles than Laxalt.

Danny Rose is an absolute clown with a massive chip on his shoulder. I wouldn't touch him.

OAB
I seen a comparison last night between both Left backs.
Going by the statistics Taylor comes out on top.
Celtic have an average of 2.42 points with Taylor in the team compared to only 1.67 points with Laxalt in the team.
Which also means Celtic have scored more goals and conceded less with Taylor in the team.
Taylor commits less fouls himself and is also fouled more than Laxalt.
And Taylor has had 50% more crosses than Laxalt.
Laxalt is ahead with 10 shots at goal,2 on target and with 1 goal.
Taylor has only had 2 shots this season with 1 on target and no goals.
Taylor has played 205 minutes more than Laxalt.

Shane Duffy is back in the UK after only one full day of training in Dubai.
He’s back home due to a family issue.

Can he play for another club this season im Brighton get an offer and we agree to terminate the loan?

A player is only allowed to make appearances for two clubs in one season. According to Transfermarkt, Duffy hasn’t played for Brighton this season, so he would be free to play for anyone he joined in January. 🤞
It’s the same as Bain when he joined us. He was on loan at Hibs but hadn’t played for them yet so we were able to sign him.

07 Jan 2021 05:11:26
Brighton don’t want him back and loan is agreed until end of season. Only way he would be allowed to go elsewhere is if another club are willing to take him on exact deal as what we are paying and we and Brighton agree to sanction it.
He would be going anywhere too messy if we tried to move him on and it doesn’t work we end up still paying huge wage for player who knows he’s not wanted.

Was an exception to the 2 club rule no sanctioned due to C.V.

Declan Gallagher linked with Celtic out of contract in summer . might be good signing.

100% Mally, I just posted the same😉. Would be good addition and in my opinion is a far better defender than Bitton, Julien and Duffy.

Big solid no nonsense defender watched him a few times with Scotland and never put a foot wrong.

Gallagher would be a good signing. But he would go against the grain. We usually sign defenders who can't defend, it would never work. If any rumours emerge of a bombscare being available, that's who we will sign. Its the way we roll. Never in my whole life supporting Celtic has anybody ever said, Celtic are really strong defensively. Celtic, where bombscares are always welcome.

Agree1 Disagree0

05 Jan 2021 15:34:17
There are bombscares all over the pitch it's just that general opinion is that if a defender makes a mistake which costs us a goal and ultimately the match we are all over him even though in the same game 2 or 3 sinners missed by a forward are overlooked. We never think that it was the 3 mistakes of the forwards which cost us.

Our defence has cost us the league. Cost us the CL qualification, cost us a humiliation in the EL, cost 7s against Ross County in the BetFred and now having to play a midfielder at CB cost us the game. Missing chances has also cost us, but the defence is a shambles. Unti we fix that, we will struggle to put Sevco under pressure. If we bring in an. actual defender this window and a winger who can make a final ball, we can. If we don't. well it will be all over in weeks culminating the worst season in years. Bring in players and see how Sevco's bottle holds up. Can we win every game if we sort the defence? I think we can.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jan 2021 19:07:50
It wasn't having a midfielder playing at centreback, that cost us the game, it was having a centreback playing at full back, because the fullback was playing as a winger, and forgetting he was meant to be a fullback.

Magicpole

You must be very young if nobody in your life has said that Celtic are not strong defensively.

You obviously never saw Simpson, Craig, Gemmell, Murdoch, McNeil, Clark play as that was a REAL defence.

Pity we don’t have anybody like that playing for us just now.

Ok, we get a defence every 53 years.

He is decent, had a few good matches for Scotland a side who don’t have much off the ball and like Motherwell defend deeper than we do.
He might struggle with high line but for small few aid guess maybe £500k on a low wage I think it’s a good gamble to take.
He won’t be available on a pre contract as if he plays 5 more games it triggers year extension so not in final year of contract then.
Not sure how that would work as you would think as it stands he’s in final 6 months and could sign pre contract but then if he triggers the extension next month does that mean we can’t get him till he’s 31 in 18 months tbh.
