hi edd really good source becchio from leeds to celtic have u heard anything ?? {Ed007's Note - The Leeds ed mentioned it last week.}

Believable10 Unbelievable10

I rarely post here but from good source Becchio from Leeds is lookin for EPL club if not he will stay in championship

Wilsybhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't know if we would go for Bechio.I suspect chairman Bates would play hardball and want top dollar.Word from Leeds is if he was going it would be to Notts Forest. {Ed007's Note - Bates is only an honorary president at Leeds now. They have been taken over.

Celtic will complete the signing of Rubin Kazan midfielder Roman Eremenko, brother of ex-Killie star Alexai, on Monday for a fee in the region of £3.5 million

Believable14 Unbelievable20

I have never seen this boy is he good or are we going into donati territory here,,,, deep river boy

Agree0 Disagree0

I very much doubt we will be paying 3.5 mil for anyone this transfer window....let alone a midfielder....a position we are already well served in. We needs 2-3 players tops to supplement what we have.
The boy Gershon as left sided cover will be 1 of the 3. Possibly another Centre Forward (big and strong) as an alternative to what we have and a winger as extra cover for Forrest et al... Maybe the lad Humphrey from Motherwell. I have no names to throw in for the CF position however I think someone like Billy Sharp could do a job for us.
Ed007 you any ideas of ins and outs this window?

Agree0 Disagree1

Maybe kayal out romanov in, ? and a do know they play different postions

john

Agree0 Disagree0

Romanov? Wa you going for Roman Eremenko or Rafaelov? I know mad Vlad wouldn't go to Celtic lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love this boy to come in, so skillfull, pick a pass and hammer in a goal or 2. could be our missing link to really kick on in europe. Maybe even get to quarters, semi's or WEMBLEY

Any word on the Dorrand situation eddy? {Ed007's Note - Sorry there is nothing new since I first mentioned it, he has asked to move closer to Glasgow and WBA have agreed, CFC have made an enquiry regarding the player.}

Believable4 Unbelievable7

I was sat beside him and his brother in the Rangers end at Celtic Park for the Scottish Cup replay in 2011. Cracking lad and was having a fair bit of craic with the Rangers supporters, albeit at the expense of Celtic's fans! If you asked me that night could I see this guy pulling on the hoops, the answer would have been a resounding NO! But he wouldn't be the first I guess. You would be getting a good player, that's for sure.

Am a rangers fan but if celtic offer me 10k plus a will accept

Only Manchester Utd and Arsenal have had more fans through the gates this season in the UK than Celtic who so far have had 778, 453.

There's also a team in Div 3 breaking records of its own for fans attending games, they are behind Celtic in attendance stats but still good going

Scottish football on its backside....hmmm

Mrs E

Believable26 Unbelievable5

You would hope there behind man utd, arsenal and celtic or could be embarrassing

john

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2013 19:59:52
Why would it be embarrassing ? considering ticket prices for a Sevco game are half that of a Celtic game and probably a third of an Arsenal game.

Agree1 Disagree0

Oh John, they are behind Celtic so don't you be stressing about rid necks

My point was more about Scottish football really, Celtic are only behind 2 EPL clubs ~ Mrs E

Agree1 Disagree0

In reply to rangers tickets being half the price of celtic tickets it's still astonishing the crowds rangers have been getting at ibrox it just show's how much old firm fan's will turn out to watch their team no matter where they are playing.

Agree0 Disagree1

Yeah credit where its due, they have been well supported in season tickets and turnouts for games but then they have been blowing they're own horns since they're first home game this season haven't they. I just think its embarrassing that they have went on and on about having full houses while having digs about 15 thousand fans staying away form Celtic park YET we have had more fans through the gates than them this season. They're tickets are more than a 3rd cheaper AND they have been giving away freebies. ALL FACTS.

Agree0 Disagree0

^ Unless it's a domestic game, in which case Celtic fans avoid it like the plague!

But bravo on the attendances against Barcelona etc.

SC93

Agree0 Disagree0

For the avoidance of doubt SC93, there has been 206, 261 more at Celtic than Ibrox. So what if some have prioritised CL games over domestic games.

We are football supporters not made of money ~ Mrs E

Agree0 Disagree0

Mrs e you say your point was about Scottish football, yet mention, man utd, arsenal an only celtic

John

Agree0 Disagree0

And the team I support is Celtic.

Scottish football is terribly dissed by the English that is why I mentioned we are only surpassed by 2 of them to date this season.

Its not 'news' that the attendances at all the other grounds in Scotland are lower than Celtic Park and Ibrox. That has been the case for decades John ~ Mrs E

Agree0 Disagree0

Mrs E is well within her rights to talk about only Celtic. Its a Celtic page after all John :) Haill Hail p.s Hoopy New Year ed and all the regular posters, hope you's had a good one! Cheeky Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Mrs E is a legend on this site.she is only sticking up for us bhoys.and i love her for that.if she says we are the third best team in britain its because us bhoys have been brought up to know that classy ladies like Mrs E call it as it is. ps i went third fans this year god bless everyone x

Agree2 Disagree0

Haha. It's so easy to go to Champions League ties isn't it folks.

And "Mrs E".. Are you forgetting that Celtic have the capacity to hold up to 10,000 fans more than Rangers have?

Our fans are being talked about and reported on all over the world for the way we have supported our team this year. We are the best in the world. Period.

SC93

Agree0 Disagree1

SC93 if you read my post I complimented the fans of your club.

You have indeed pointed out the main issue of who will be your main rivals when the club win their way into the SPL, Celtic's park holds 10,000 more. In these days of the FFP rules, is this a concern for you ?

In season 2011 (when Rangers won the league & to make to fair) Celtic's matchday revenue was the 10th highest in Europe and a good 12m more than Rangers.

www.deloitte.com/view/en_GB/uk/industries/sportsbusinessgroup/sports/football/deloitte-football-money-league-2011/66f55ec578ffd210VgnVCM2000001b56f00aRCRD.htm#1

Now can you send me these All over the world newspaper clippings together with the one's from 1998 when the new Celtic Park was fully complete and over 55,000 season tickets were sold...the highest in the UK at that time.

My point being, supporting your club is a lifetime commitment.

Can I have my hook back now ;-)

Incidentally, why do you have my name in " " ?

Mrs E

Agree1 Disagree0

Aye right SC93 - best in the world? Talk to the people of Manchester about the behaviour of rangers fans. Scotland's shame year after year......

Agree1 Disagree0

SC93 where is the proof to back up this statement?

"Our fans are being talked about and reported on all over the world for the way we have supported our team this year. We are the best in the world. Period."

You sir have just lost all credibility and proven yourself as a liar. How can anyone take anything you say serious now?

I live in Donegal and spend a lot of my working time in Germany, I have read very little about Sevco or it's fans in any German newspaper so please explain theses other countries that are all talking about their fans?

If you have no hard evidence then you are no more than a liar.

any news on stokesy yet ?

gunniebhoy

Believable5 Unbelievable5

Stokes and Hooper were one of the top strike forces in UK football. Their competitive nature to bag more goals than the other was immense but tempered with the maturity to pass when correct to do so.

Agree1 Disagree0

Stokes will score you 20 plus ...its what Celtic have been missing ....TTTS

Agree1 Disagree0

Stokes is good but should go cause he is in it for himself and complains all the time with hands in the air, needs to pass the ball when other players in better positions

Hi ED, I noticed yesterday Dudu Dahan said that Rami Gershon would be signed early afternoon, i have also heard that the boy passed his medical around lunch time, so why hasn't he been unveiled yet, has there been a snag in negotiations?
Shug

Believable1 Unbelievable4

Due to his preveous injuries he is expected to complete two seperate intensive medicals. Rumour is celtic might want to secure a permanent deal if medical is good and price can be agreed.

Anyone think Graham Dorrans could do a job for us

Believable15 Unbelievable19

Who is he better than? and for 4mill, 400000 maybe,,,,, deep river bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Hence the gers supporter posts

John

Agree0 Disagree0

He isnt better than anyone we have already. We need quality not quantity.

Agree0 Disagree0

You can't compare him to what we already have, he's totally different. Commons is closest and not many gave him a chance!! Deep River Bhoy, you've got it spot on with with the price,, no way it'll be close to 4mil tho as he's been told to leave/find a new club! Half of that MAX, then I would like to see him signed up. And he wouldn't come into the "Quantity" bracket, he's a lot better than McCourt, Mcginn and others that played various positions, basically it wouldn't be a waste of money if the price was right!

Any one think we might have missed a trick with the boy McGowan? Any time i have seen him he has looked good. Big, strong and with a great engine i think he might have done us a turn..............green jhedi

Believable12 Unbelievable18

I posted about McGowan last month and I agree he would have been a great signing for us . Can play all along the back four and midfield too. Comes from a Celtic family (not essential but it helps !)

Agree0 Disagree0

Yep, he's done alright for hearts, liked the boy McGovern at left back for nibs las night
Ska bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye - agreed. have posted on several sites re him (including this one i think).

Seemingly we confirmed a 'no interest' in him to hearts.

For me, he fits the profile exactly -
Young
Versatile (back 4 - midfield)
Good athlete
Tall
english speaking
current international (in a good side)

Celtic have commented at one time or another that they look for all of the above.

mcGowan was technically a bit limited, but could have been a squad player for us, and with good coaching, could improve. He would have been my top pick from the spl.

Agree0 Disagree0

McGowan would play cb before Wilson?

John

Agree0 Disagree1

Hes a decent player I agree but do we have the space for him really? He'd be looking for a decent wage and would have been a minimum of third choice pick across each of the positions he can play.

He is a useful player of that there's not much doubt but he just wasn't about at the correct time for us. I can't help but think that he's not a patch on Matthews or lustig at the same time, I think it's his commitment and work rate that catch the eye more than anything now I'm thinking about it.

Jamie mac

Agree1 Disagree0

What about Lee Wallace from Rangers International, think he is wasted with them in the 4th tier of Scottish Football, Always fancied him for the hoops when he was at Hearts, big, strong and quick. Would ruffle a few feathers at the sevconians with a cheeky bid?? Johnbhoy

Agree0 Disagree1

McGowan is out of contract in the summer, should snap him up on a pre-contract and offer the tarts 100K to take him now.
Simples!
HH
/BB

Agree0 Disagree1

Rumours kicking around he's ibrowse bound after short spell with Chinese team, once embargo lifted

Ska bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

That's the big attraction foil rangers players are actually signing for a team on the hope the gers sign them 6 months later?

John

Agree0 Disagree0

I think McGowan would be a good right back for us. Adam is a bit small and often let's the winger in behind him, not cutting out the cross. Like Lustig, buts he is injured mist of the time.

I have posted on here before that we should have tried to get Lee Wallace.

Agree0 Disagree1

He's a clubber. A distinctly average footballer. Surely you must want better for Celtic. Yes he could "do a job". But if we want to make a step up, we need to scout better talent. Let me put it this way for you. He isn't anywhere as good a fullback as Adam Mathews, or Lustig. He isn't as good a centre half as Wilson, Mulgrew or Ambrose. He could get anywhere our midfield. So what does that leave you with? Another squad player, no better than what we have. I'd rather we brought through someone from the development squad if we were short than paying 500k plus add ons for this dirty b*stard, whose effective physical approach to the game is his best attribute, which should tell you all you need to know about the strength of his overall game. Glad he's away to china, and most probably end up with the other sluggers in the 3rd division. McCullooch's influence will be perfect for finishing his "development" at the zombies.

Agree2 Disagree1

To last post he is better than wilson, who panicks on the ball and doesnt know what to do with it

john

Agree0 Disagree1

The answer to your question John is yes. kelvin Wilson IS A BETTER CENTRE HALF THAN RYAN MCGOWAN. All day long. McGowan isn't even a centre half, he fills in there sometimes! He is a right sided player. And nowhere near as good as what we have down that side. And like I say he wouldn't get near our midfield. End of story

Press conference at Celtic Park @ 2.30pm
Also, Rami Gershon will be given the no. 5 jersey.

Believable9 Unbelievable7

Never seen this guy play but we have to trust the scouting team and hope they have unearthed another Gem . The only thing I don't like about him is the first 4 letters of his surname and Im not too chuffed about the last 3 either ! lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Now that's got me thinking. I hope he's not another Sheidt! Sopotcelt.

Agree0 Disagree0

From one loan to another yeehaa celts, lets splash all the money we have

John

Agree0 Disagree0

There's nothing the matter with trying before we buy John! What would you rather we paid the money for a player who has had little ativity and un known quality or loan him first with the fee already agreed for the end of season if he is good enough to wear the hoops! Maybe a little thought before posting would do you well

SOS-bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said SOS-bhoy. john would you rather we had signed miku? i didnt think so. also what about brozek last year?
i think the boy could be decent and its exactly what we need to rival izzy now a bit altho i think he is a cb initially.
Happy new year to all on the site and great work ed. love reading the rumours and news on here that bes posted. keep it up bhoys

What am saying is juve 5 million odds on a def, celtic a loan from standard, what about spending a bit of all this champs league profit we keep hearing on on a really good defender?

John

Agree0 Disagree0

Why no news yet? Failed medical? Cant Agree terms?

Agree0 Disagree0

Because, john, we don't want to end up liquidated and in div 3 as a new club with no history. Capiche ?

Just heard from a reliable source at Ross Hall Hospital that Rami Gershon has just passed his medical.

Expect an announcement from Celtic later today! I suspect Gershon is probably on his way to Lennoxtown to be paraded in front of the press.

Gershon's agent Dudu Dahan may be back in Glasgow later this month with a fellow compatriot and former team mate of Ambrose, Juwon Oshaniwa. The 22 year old is a recognised left back.

Celtic to offer Rubin Kazan £1million plus Mikael Lustig for Roman Eremenko

Believable6 Unbelievable20

Eremenko signed for 13 mill a year ago for them,,,, deep river bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont let lustig go. he's a class act and a better defensive player than matthews. I understand eremenko is avalible for 4m which we could afford without letting a top quality rb go

Agree0 Disagree0

I like lustic but he seems to get injured a lot with either his groin or hamstring and worried its a matter of time till its a bad one. Would want him to stay but if this guy is a 13mill player and good and the play maker we need then I would pull the trigger. Never seen him thu

If he was signed for 13M then the wages he is on will reflect that. Can't see us getting him for that reason. Also he doesn't really fit the profile of what we do now.

hi ed, have you heard anything about us trying to sign some guy called loius mcgugan
(spelling) from notts forest on a bosman or is it just the usual transfer window bullsh**

Ed could you clear up a few things for me.
1. Any truth that Michael Owen has been offered to Celtic till the end of the season. (Think its bs as usually but it's came up 3 or 4 times now)
2. That up to 4 players could be signing pre contracts. 1 from the SPL and 1 a South American.
3. Do you think we will see any more signings this month. Think we could do with a LW and an old fashioned no.10.
4. Have you heard anything about players leave I.e Rouge and Bangora go to AIK.

Also Happy New Year to you and everyone involved in the site
Daz the Hoopy {Ed007's Note - Happy New Year Daz mate. There is no chance of Owen signing and a player from the SPL can only sign a pre-contract with another Scottish club one month before his contract expires. Personally I think 2 and possibly 3 players will be brought in during the window, depending on who leaves. I expect McCourt to finally team up with Ian Holloway at Crystal Palace and if an acceptable offer is made for Rogne I think he would be moved on. I expect Miku might return to Spain.}

Believable9 Unbelievable5

Let Owen find a treatment room somewhere else.
