At the game yesterday I was struck by the attendance. If St Mirren cannot fill their own allocation, why if they get to a cup final against us should they get such a big allocation? We were poor midweek, they won in the league cup-semi but still could not fill their own ground.
The story was the same today. The Hibs fans deserve great credit, but Kilmarnock? Watch the final of the league cup, over twenty thousand saints fans no doubt. Same if it was Killie, they would be bleating for twenty thousand tickets. Hearts the same, but we know what they are like.
The daywalkers like to paint this picture that this is because they are in Division three, but these are Cup ties. If Scottish football does not start getting run with a bit of vision and forethought things may be about to get a bit sticky. On a lighter note, great to see ally's new keeper have a blinder today. green jhedi

@ Kelpie; Sorry, you lost me. green jhedi

I did not understand Kelpie either but on your comment's about St Mirren, when was the last time we filled our ground, seem's the faithful through and through is only for some of us mate HH

Agree0 Disagree0

Scottish football is a joke, empty stadiums etc, watched sportscene last night killie v hibs, stadium empty and the daft commentator said as boyd ran on "listen to the ovation he's back" I couldn't hear a thing, new douglas park looked like it was quite busy, and kelpie what language are you speaking as no one understands you, you waster,. ,. kbarry

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought the Hibs fans were brilliant at the game (on telly) and put the home side to shame. Great turn out and great atmosphere from the away end. Killies big banner behind the goal was a plus point too. As for you Kelpie, I suggest you lay off the El Dorado. Weetam1888

Listening to lennys comments I think we are in for a big clear
Out in summer:
For me I think following may go (hope I'm wrong)
Wanyama 10mill
Hooper 8mill
Forster 8mill
Ambrose 4mill
Izzy 4mill
Mc court free
Rogne free
Miku End loan
Lassad don't think adds much
Stokes?

New team?

New GK (someone like rob green?)

Matthews/lustig
Wilson
New Cb (Gershon?)
Mulgrew/new lb

Forrest/Mc Geouch
Ledley/New CM
Brown/Kayal
New LM (mackay stevens)/Commons

Sammy
Russell?
New Striker
Doyle?

I think joe ledley could be heartbeat of our team for years to come. get him signed up gaffer!

Believable10 Unbelievable13

Right basing this on the how many players from Scotland who make it down south here's what I think

Wanyama - 8-10m
Hooper 5m be very surprised if much more
Forster - 5m think of anyone down south even has a sniff at him he will want to go
Ambrose - 3/4m too much of a bomb scare but can be good on his day
Izzy 4m not the same player as a year ago
McCourt him he will stay
Rogne would like him to, stay
Lassad/stokes don't know like lassad but contract is up next season stokes score goals. enough said

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Forster will go for around 6 mil, Ambrose for 5mil, don't see us signing Doyle, Russell and another striker

Possible signings:
Charlie Austin
Micheal Ciani
A winger of some sort
And a left back

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it's a pretty much giving that Wanyama and Hooper will be gone and a good possibility of Forster, be very surprised if they are not. Coupled with a few fringe players moving should pull in 20million plus which is a good bit of business that will allow us to strengthen in most areas.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think there the few that are leaving, already have their minds on other things as their performances have been patchy of late and compared to last season verging on the 'coasting'.
The attraction of EPL wages is a big handicap for Celtic and another SPL reconstruction is basically embarrassing.
I would like the club to tie up our consistent performers like Brown, Mulgrew, Ledley, Mathews, Lustig, Kayal and Izzy -who's back like his old self.
Forrest, McGeough, Watt and Rogic will hopefully continue to progress and we invest in a quality mix of experience and flair right down the spine of the team from goal to front.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wanyama 12-15 hooper4-6 (given last year)izzy5 Ambrose 5 ff 7 is more like it. Our board will Stan firm and get the most possible

Agree0 Disagree0

Ambrose has to go - thinks he is Beckenbuar when he is reaaly hopeless. I have serious doubts about Rogic. I know he is young but I fear he is too slow and gives the ball away too much. Stokes should be shown tje door in the summer - has the touch of an elephant! We still need a centre half and as for Izzy - he is a very poor defender - always getting caught on the wrong side.
Players in? Russell and Makay-Steven and look for a decent centre half.

Afternoon Ed! With it looking almost certain that hooper will be off in summer, have you heard of any potential replacements for him! I would imagine a list of potential targets would have been drawn up in October when he refused a new contract! Rhodes, Austin and Russell have been mentioned! Do you think the board will spend a bit of money on replacing hooper or let John park do his magic and scout an undiscovered gem? Personally I would like to see an established goalscorer like Rhodes or Austin as when hooper is not in the team we really lack something up front!

Ice man {Ed007's Note - It's early days IceMan, and a lot can happen between now and the summer, but the main target to replace Hooper is still Charlie Austin.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

ED007; Do you think they might give the boy Atijak (?) a chance. Seems he is very highly rated and a lot of teams are keeping an eye. green jhedi {Ed007's Note - I'm hoping once the league is tied up we will see some of the youngsters getting a chance.}

Agree1 Disagree0

Gj, would like to see him in and I think he will be like the new watt like he has been for us last 2 years and watt gets more runs in the team

Wanted to ask everyone's opinions on who Celtic should sell in the summer?
Here are my list of players
Obvious candidates are Hooper and Wanyama, as long as Celtic get decent money let them go.
I do not expect everyone to agree with my next choice Izziguirre, since his leg break, he has not been the same player, good going forward, poor at defending. any offer around £5m take it.
Next Ambrose, again not convinced he is long term solution for us, £5m+ take it
Stokes has poor attitude and I would sell him also.
McCourt must go also to give younger players a chance.
Miku will probably go also as he is just on loan, and Celtic will not pay £6m to sign him.
There are 7 players I would let go.
We have Watt and McGeouch and another couple of young guys ready to step in as good squad players.
What we need is a dominant centre half and a strong centre forward. maybe another winger to take pressure of Forrest.
So let 7 leave bring in maybe 3/4 players in the summer. This will reduce wage bill and as long as replacements are of CL standard we will not be any weaker. Timalloy

Believable0 Unbelievable4

Thats a lot of 5 millions for players you don't rate

Agree0 Disagree0

Commons kayal rogne mcourt bangura zaluska murphy lassad, if we recieved a crazy offer for forrest I would sell him too,,,,, deep river bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Think Hooper & Wanyama will definitely leave in the summer = £16m for the pair. To be fair to Izzy I thought he was finding his best form again until yesterday. With regards Ambrose I think you would need to be high on drugs to pay 5m for him, agree with you he's not a long term solution for us. I wish we would stop wasting 1m here and 1m there and buy a top notch centre half. Remember when we went out and paid 3.5m for Stubbs, surely we are in a position to do that? Don't know if I agree with you regarding Stokes. Think he can still do a job. Ian L

Agree0 Disagree0

So, sell all of the core players in our team then, aye. What's your point, caller?

Been looking at lists of celebrity Celtic fans and can somebody tell me the connection with Robert De Niro? Has he said he is?

Believable0 Unbelievable6

I remember this a few years ago. It seems Pacino worked with a director, Caton-Jones?, who is a big Celt and got him into the whole history of Celtic. In NY years ago a guy in the Manhattan csc told me he did turn up to watch some games. true or false I don't know. green jhedi {Ed007's Note - De Niro, the wee ugly guy from Titanic and another few A-Listers are in the NYC Celtic Supporters.}

His real name is Robert Mc De Niro

People need 2 lay off the team a bit. Individual errors are 2 blame for the recent defensive problems and they can be rectified. As for Forrest give the wee man a break he's still finding his feet after injury 3 assists in 2 games ffs! Bring on the juve on weds! Positive result would b great way 2 end the euro campaign COYBIG!

Believable8 Unbelievable1

Individual errors can only be rectified if the individuals have the basic defensive skills. I expect in the last few years the coaching staff have been trying to teach Izzy the basics, knowing where your man is and getting the right side of him, but he has been getting caught out for years. As for Juve, I haven't seen much since the first leg to make me think the second will be any better. Hope to be proven wrong.

ED007 have you heard the rumours about Ciani of Bordeux supposedly talking to Celtic?
He is 28 and an experienced defender, apparently he is in last year of his contract so £2m+ should get him. Pictures of him, he seems to be a big powerful guy. Thoughts? Timalloy {Ed007's Note - Michael Ciani signed for Lazio in the summer Tim, his contract runs until 2016 with them}

Heard it already a year ago, very unlikely.

The reason I asked about Ciani, was an article in Newsnow Celtic dated Sat 2 mar 2013 (yesterday)
Which stated "Ciani open to hoops move" Timalloy {Ed007's Note - I seen that Tim, I will try get in touch with Ed002 and see is she can find out anything.}
