Know that Thommo leaving has been confirmed can you give us a little more info if you have any? As normal people are putting 2+2 together and getting knows what.

No probs ed. You know what it's like when something like this happens? Had four different txts in the past hour or so with four totally different stories.

For me Thommo seems to be a mans man and passionate about football. Unfortunately that would have served him well in the 90's but its a wee bit old fashioned for the modern game. He needs to knuckle down and prioritise his football above all else and become a true student of the game. I wish him well and I hope he and CFC can resolve any issues amicably and with no hard feelings. Any gossip should quite rightly be ignored and Thommo should be left to get over losing his dream job, losing some very close friends and getting back to what he seems to love and that is being involved as a coach with the right club and circumstances for him and a future employer. Sopot Celt.

Well the rumours are ***************! Unbelievable. Lennons showed some cojones in having to get rid of such a close friend, so much so i doubt it was entirely his decision. Lennon was supposed to meet Alan in Newcastle yesterday but Alan didn't show. Thats why it was 'done over the phone'. However Neil ignored Alans calls for a few days once Alan got wind of the inevitable.

Ed I do love the site and your chat but saying ur not wanting to speculate on a rumours site is a bit redundant is it not??? {Ed007's Note - We have legal obligations to adhere to and our Google accreditation to consider. im well gutted about the tommo situation nt gonna discuss why not fair on the guy. do you think clarke from liverpool would be in for a shout ed? .....gunner&atim {Ed007's Note - I have no idea, but we could do a lot worse, he is a fantastic coach with a wealth of experience, including European competitions.}

When people are talking about Clarke, is it Steve Clarke we are talking? If this is true then it's a big bonus because he's reguarded as one of the best coaches in the epl. Sad to see Thommo go, cracking guy.

Norwich fan here, there is a feeling that he is on his way to Villa they cant agree on compensation for Paul Lambert and Norwich have thought to have said We'll Keep Ian Culverhouse as either first team coach or Manager and Karsa as well will stay, This is all pure speculation but would make sence from Norwich's point of View, and for what its worth I hope this is true as Culverhouse is the one who did all the training work Lambert stayed in the back ground and very rarely had anything to do with the squad.

Heard that Celtic have enquired about Alex Smithies as they are getting nowhere with Foster he only has 1 year left on his current deal and would be available for around 2 million.

Just saw that we are being linked with Ecuadorian winger Jefferson Montero from Villareal, who is available for 2.5 million ponds. Although it's a rumour, where would he fit in? Who would you boys see move on to bring in this type of player? Seems like a good talent.

What do you think of Michael Owen joining the bhoys? I would love it but cant see it happening. Also Craig Gordon on a free - why have we not signed him yet?! A lot of good players from EPL without a club do you think any will join us?

I dont think we will go for owen if im honest.dont think he is what we need.id prefer a big target man.i wouldnt rule out heskey though unless someone beats us to him

Celtic will definitely be seeded in next season’s Champions League qualifiers.

In the unlikely event of the first three rounds going entirely to plan Neil Lennon’s side will face Dinamo Zagreb, Cluj, MSK Zilina, Partisan Belgrade or Helsingborgs for a place in the group stage.

Only Basel and Anderlecht in the champions route have a higher co-efficient than Celtic with the draw starting to emerge on June 25 when the first two qualifying rounds are made.

The first qualifying round will feature just six teams but the second round will feature 34 clubs including potential opponents such as Dinamo Zagreb and Partisan Belgrade.

If the second round draw works out according to the seedings the highest placed club that Celtic could face in the third qualifying round would be Sheriff Tiraspol of Moldova. Maribor, Debrecen, HJK Helsinki and Slask Wroclaw are other potential opponents provided that they come through the second qualifying round unscathed.

The draw for the third qualifying round will take place on July 20 with the matches being played on July 31/August 1 and August 7/8. If successful Celtic will go into the fourth qualifying round draw on August 10.

If Celtic are knocked out at the third qualifying round they will face one qualifying tie for the Europa League, if they lose out in the fourth round of the Champions League they will drop into the group stage of the Europa League.

Motherwell will be in the third round draw of the non-champions section of the draw and will face Dinamo Kiev, Panathinaikos, FC Copenhagen or Fenerbache, if they get through that stage they could then face Sporting Braga or Aiden McGeady’s Spartak Moscow for a place in the group stage

So does that mean Celtic have to play four ties home and away before playing in the group stages ? I always thought that thay only played three.

I don't care who we meet we will not do much in Europe , Lenny has not got it for CL he is out of his depth , I long for the great nights we had under O'Neill

How can you say Lennon is out of his depth in the champions league the Europa group we had last year was easy a CL class and we were far from imbaresed ! A few good signings and our young squad will be a force in Europe for years to come keep the faith big chap and try and put a bit of faith in Lennon

What did you do when the SPL faced down cheating and corruption in their league?

Does anyone really believe that SLY would reply - "We withdrew our funding and sided with the wrongdoer"

I think they would reply - Regards cheating etc-We left that to the SFA/SPL. We felt the need to withdraw due to the lack of Commercial value, the spl is a dead duck and we felt the lack of competition made this league a joke and until we see proof of interest from a willing audience who will pay their sky fee, we feel we have no alternative but to withdraw until a worthwhile profit can be made.
