So we've increased our bid for Bayo from £1.75m to £1.8m. A bit embarrassing really. I'm all for negotiating but to up our offer by £50k. If we really think this player will make a difference make a proper offer.

Hopefully that's the case Ed. Do you reckon Bayo and Weah are the two strikers that BR is bringing in or will Weah be used as a winger?

What’s your thoughts on Defoe Ed?

{Ed007's Note - As I said on another thread - I've never seen the fuss about Defoe and have had many a debate with posters about him over the years, all he ever had was pace and at 36 that's long gone - his overall record of 242 goals in 638 games is a joke.
I'd have been seriously pi$$ed off if we had signed Defoe 6 years ago.}

All about opinions, but Defoe would have been a brilliant signing 6 years ago.

I don't massively rate defoe but how is 242 goals in 638 games a joke? that's an average of about 1 in 2.6 games. Not bad considering he has played for some crap teams. Rooneys overall is 1 in 2.3 or something and he wasnt a bad player.

Aye but Rooney was moved all over the park and very rarely played as an out and out striker.
Defoe ( who I did rate) played exclusively as an out and out striker.

Well rooney was just an example. Defoes goals per game is decent was my point as he did play for a few lesser teams therefore less chances.

4 goals in 28 appearances for Bournemouth. 38 goals in 115 appearances since 2018. I wouldn't be too worried about him.

Defoe is a joke of a signing . No club in England would take him now . Fairly good 3 yrs ago, good 10 yrs ago.
Davis return is Rangers2012 buying a from the occupied 6.
If these deals do go through they won't benefit Rangers2012 on the playing pitch.

We find ourselves in a pretty strange situation due to the disastrous summer window we had. We possibly need at least 6 bodies in:
RB, Ch, back up Lb, Cm, left winger and 2 strikers.

Every position that we all thought should have been done in the summer.
However the effort of all the players and staff means we have a trophy in the cabinet top of the league and still in Europe. A few imaginative signings and maybe a few experienced ones will see us having another successful season.

As I right this, morelas has just escaped any punishment for his actions. surprise surprise.

Personally for me we don’t need cover for left back as Izzy is still good enough. He got hung out to dry against Aberdeen and should’ve played on Saturday. We do need a centre back tho, this boy Weah is seen as a winger, we need one striker for me as I think Griffith will travel to Dubai and a centre midfielder. They look to be signing Defoe and Davis who will be cracking signings for them I believe so we need to get something done.

Agree with everything you've said Their John, 6 signings I should be the aim and a lot of the deadwood going out get the wage budget down, quality is what we need not the rubbish we have been signing, unfortunately it's 6 quality buys we need so it won't be cheap but we have skimped the last few years bar eddy, that new side sevco are in over 20m of debt I believe and still going strong with more buys Defoe and davis strange for a club that's got more outgoings than income and in so much debt in such a short life 2012 lol! Anyway the celts have plenty in the bank no debts and a billionaire owner i honestly don't understand why we are looking at players in the 1-3m bracket when we need quality to become better we should always be looking to improve but we haven't in the last 5 years we have got weaker this is the time to spend to assure the league title and get into the champions league were we belong and to give a good account of ourselves in the champions league too we are more than capable their is teams with a smaller budget than us done well in the champions league so we know we can get back to that level with wise buys fingers crossed we do the business hail hail.

That will be lucky if Defoe is as good as Kenny Miller was for them, similar ages, similar dulled sharpness and stamina.
