That was my thinking Shug. BR isn't afraid to spend money though! Can't comment on the player but I'd expect him to be getting in on the first team action sooner rather than later for that price. With the lead we have though I can't see why we shouldn't be able to bed him in.

Ed, this appears to be probable, and a fair amount of money, anywhere outside the financial utopia of England. Two questions, with your knowledge and contacts, is this guy a prospect? and do you think there could be more signings with Europe next year in mind?
I ask because, if this is true, this will be the first time I can remember that we are trying to strengthen from a position of strength, unnecessarily.
This would reinforce the premise that as a club, we are now serious about competing at a higher level than previously thought acceptable.

Rodgers has said that any signing this window will be signed with the CL qualifiers in mind and even though it's difficult to get deals done in January I don't think Eboue will be the last arrival this month.}

I think if he's ready to go now then its what is needed. Means you can rotate brown, Armstrong, rogic and him. Also means brown and Armstrong might not need to cover as much ground if he's a proper sitting midfielder.

Seems a bit pricey for a teenager with so few games under his belt ED! I thought we would have went for more experience but I trust Brendan if he thinks this Bhoy is a player! Take it this will be the end of bitton then ED! Can't say I'll be sorry if it is, never thought he was up to it. brendan obviously doesn't fancy him much either.

From the 18 games he's played for Krasnodar, 6 have been in the europa league, he had 2 assists in those 6 games and came up against teams like Schalke and Nice! Must be something there. Read an article from RussianFootballNews that have a wonderkid section and he was the second article in the series. Seems like he has a bright future from that alone. Well have to wait and see! Pretty confident in Brendan's decision though!

In press that we may be interested in Thulani Serero from Ajax. Don't really know much about him but sounds like a reasonably versatile MF. Not sure that he would be better than Brown or Armstrong, would hope if he did come in it would be end of Bitton. Actually think that with KT coming back and Gamboa starting to look good that I'm not really sure where we need to look before Summer. Would hope, like others have suggested that we will prioritise unloading the many passengers in our squad and only signing anyone if an amazing deal or unearthing of a gem. Still hope we can secure PR and would love St Juste with Kolo likely to go in Summer and Efe/ Boyata top of the exit list. Sure the nonsense links will start in next coupla days.
