Why are people talking about this deal like it’s “life changing” it’s a pretty standard deal tbh works out about 2mil odds a season

Literally anything Celtic do get over the top praise nowadays lol. Aww they signed a deal to sell cheeseburgers at the stadium! Incredible work.

We could cancel the Dafabet contract and find someone else to pay similar money anyway lol. People are acting like we got Microsoft to give us 100 mil a year.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - So the new deal's worth less than the one we had?}

04 Aug 2018 11:01:47
I dunno the exact figure but what I’m saying is that it’s not going to be life changing for us.

I’m not saying it’s no a good deal either just saying people overreacting to it like we got bought over with PSGs owners

If it’s so good we could afford to throw an extra million at John McGinn lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I still don't see what point you're trying to make. Or is it just another chance to whinge and moan about something?}

04 Aug 2018 13:51:53
Pinto syndrome.

Not moaning though is it? just confused as to why people have been talking about the deal as if it's turned around the fortunes of our club.

it's a basic sponsorship deal. Lawwell could have turned up in a trackie with a bottle of bucky and they would still want to sponsor us.

We achieved something most reasonabely sized clubs do and gained a sponsorship deal based on their club reputation.

You would think Lawwell had turned lead into gold.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It's an improved deal - the biggest ever shirt sponsorship deal in Scottish football history - which will help us to continue to dominate Scottish football, I can't see anything negative about it. Having long term deals like this shows how stable the Club is and it's planning for the future, to have long standing partnerships enhances our reputation in the City and makes us a more attractive prospect to other potential sponsors or partners.
And if it's a basic sponsorship deal you must know the details of it......

How much is the deal worth? I haven’t heard the figure but did notice the deal Man City are getting from Puma of £50m a year. It’s a different world down there of course but would be interested what the best deal ever actually is.

Hi Ed have you heard anything regarding Paddy returning on a 5 year deal? Heard it off a couple of people today!

{Ed007's Note - I've not heard that.}

Just seen we have a deal in place to sign arzani perm if the loan works out hope this is true.

04 Aug 2018 13:16:21
Marco is anything true? :) they say the truth is out there though. Probably.

I hope we can buy him though if he works out, otherwise City benefit from us developing him. That’s the preferred option. Here’s hoping.

So Brighton in for McGinn now. We'll lose out on him and regret it, like always 👍. I'm also hearing that celtic have the option to buy Arzani at the end of his Loan deal, makes sense for us and also means Man City make a profit. Which is viable.

Just been reading that as well, by all accounts McGinn has said he wants to come to us no matter what. Regarding Arzani im sure that the option to buy won't be cheap.

Im gearing he’s actually in talks with them. One year down there and he will be sold for a small fortune. Another Lawell masterstroke if he goes there.

Agree0 Disagree1

03 Aug 2018 11:33:31
Aye a seen that they were in talks with Hibs. u still think we McGinn will hold out for a move to us ED? And do u think this supposed Brighton interest will see us come back in?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Celtic have been in ongoing talks with Hibs about McGinn, the Brighton interest - if it's true - will probably gee us up over it and I still expect McGinn to be a Celtic player once the window has closed.}

03 Aug 2018 12:33:15
Cheers ED! Hope we don’t let the lad slip away down there!

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'd be surprised if there's anything in the Brighton story so I'm not worried.}

03 Aug 2018 14:27:35
Funny last few weeks nobody was that enthralled about Mcginn now there’s a hint he may go south it’s all peter lawells fault! Hibs will go out Europe next round then he will join us.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Aug 2018 17:07:45
If McGinn wants to play for us then Brighton don’t stand a chance and if he has any ambition then he’d certainly wait for us to sign him.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Aug 2018 21:14:43
If he has any ambition he will try and play at the highest possible level and that isn't the SPFL!

Agree0 Disagree0

Xikos, not too sute how real the Brighton story is? If it is real he has a big decision. Know he loves Celtic but the EPL is a difficult deal to walk away from.

04 Aug 2018 12:43:02
Brighton want him and hibs have told him if Celtic do not come in with the right deal he will be sold to any other team that does, personally I think Celtic will come in with the right offer which I know think will be £3m I hope if he goes it is to Celtic but Celtic need to sort it out he is worth £3-4m and he loves scoring against the persons.
