Just a question to all the fans answering ever post about players signing with "he is a diddy!" who do you want us to look at? Seen it for dunne, Berra, zaliukas, Russell. Gone are the days we can spend big and really compete in Europe so these players wud be fine for spl and euro qualifiers.

Believable5 Unbelievable3

The ones you jut mentioned are fine mate. It's the Jon Daly, John Sutton, Joe Cardle, Gavin Gunning, Henrik Ojamma and the likes that wind us up. The ones that are clearly not good enough for Celtic.

Agree0 Disagree0

Russel from dun utd reminds me of naismith gives 100 percent would be a great signing

what about dave kitson who has just left portsmouth to solve our target man problem, not long term n but surely a temporary solution and he can head a balll unlike our current bunch of CF'S

Believable6 Unbelievable9

I'de take him in a minute he's the poor mans Sutton but that's in no way a bad thing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Worth a shout don't know what wage he's on though.

Been out most of the day and only now catching up on posts. Green Jhedi I
agree with all you say about Keevins. He has held a grudge against Celtic since he had a major bust up with big Billy and also some of the old Celtic board. This goes back 20 years or more so tells you the calibre of the man.
ED007 as regards Wanyama, rumour I was told that when/if Arsenal get
big money offer for Song, they will use part of it to fund Victor's move.
Celtic have him on 4 year contract, so I hope we play hard ball and only start talking if opening bid is £8m+ (but if he stays for Champions League we must play fair with him and give him a pay rise as he is on minimal contract) I also see Ki has QPR and Fulham after him talk is £6m+ deal, I am worried he gets injured tomorrow at Olympics and our windfall disappears. hail hail Timalloy

Believable8 Unbelievable1

14 million quid?! Interest in Joran Rhodes seems to have dropped but heard Fulham and West Ham are prepared to offer 7mill for him. Couldn't we do the same? I still think he would be the perfect solution right now and is worth paying big money for

If Celtic dont make Champs Lge they will go for Hearts captain Marius Zaliukas, if they do make it they will go for Richard Dunne

PJC

Believable2 Unbelievable12

Either way we,ll be signing a diddy.......DH

Agree0 Disagree0

Dunnes supposedly out injured for next two months so won't help with champs league qualifiers

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope the zaliukas rumour is a load ae sh1te coz hes a total bomb scare makes kelvin wilson look like maldini

gunniebhoy

Agree1 Disagree0

Nothing to do with qualifier, players will be signed after qualifiers which is 2-3 days b4 window shuts, there isnt a budget in place until the club knows what euro money is available

PJC

Agree0 Disagree0

Based on your post i would just sign zaliukas now then.He can play in both SPL and CL

Heard today that the real madrid match will be shown on itv4. Can anyone else confirm this
Also ed, quick question, its obvious wanyama is on his way but how much do u realistically think we will get for him? I personally will b disgusted if he goes for less than 10m. When he goes we must push thru to get rhodes henrikson and top class centre back. {Ed007's Note - Yes the game is on ITV4 next Saturday with a 6.55 K.O. As for Wanyama I would expect no less than £8 million, I think this time next year he will be valued at £20+ million if he goes to the EPL this summer. I am trying to find out exactly what Arsenal are offering, I am waiting on another Ed getting back to me.}

Could always put a sell on clause

Heard a rumour from someone close to Kayal that he's unhappy because no one attended his wedding from Celtic although many were invited. Albeit it was in Israel.

Believable4 Unbelievable13

Lol that is the lamest romour i have ever heard

So he's gonna leave Celtic because nobody from Celtic attended his wedding? Yeah...keep taking the pills.

i see some talking about templeton from hearts, personally i'd take joe cardle first. same type of player , he would improve massively with celtic. he is a good young player and after a couple of seasons his sell on value would be ten fold + what we would pay for him. shamrock

Believable1 Unbelievable8

Good Celtic man is Joe Cardle used to go on the Celtic Blackpool bus

Agree0 Disagree1

We may aswell take matt cardle because he would do just a good a job on the bench

On Man Utd site Victor 9mill to Arsenal

Believable6 Unbelievable8

Man Utd and Arsenal are only going to scout him, Celtic/Wanyama haven't had any contact so this is just another story for the papers... {Ed007's Note - Arsenal are preparing their bid.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Wanyama always stated he wanted to play in the premier league so would think if him and his agent were clever they will probly have release clause in there me think around 5 million mark

Agree0 Disagree0

This day was always going to arrive ...just a little sooner than we all would have liked ...But Wanyama is Man utd /Arsenal class ..I think Arsenal would be his best bet (not UTD or Arsenal fan) but Wengner would bring the lad on leaps and bounds ....But what the hell ,we want for him as much as we can squeeze out of whoever ....Bidding war would be great....Would like to maybe hold on to Ki now if possible....TTTS {Ed007's Note - I'm with you mate about a bit of a bidding war. Once Arsenal bid it might push others into bidding as well. Wanyama was watched by Arsenal (again), Man Utd and there was representatives of at least two overseas clubs (one was definitely an Italian team, I am not sure of the second club, possibly Germany??) against HJK. It seems that it's not only Arsenal that see Wanyama as a cheaper option than M'Vila, it could become very interesting if say Chelsea or top drawer continental club had a look to see what all the fuss is about. Man City are aware of him but I doubt they will follow up their interest.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe if he went to one of these premier league teams they would loan him back for a season cause don't think there is any of these top teams he will walk straight into but posibly with a bit more european experiance he would what you think ed {Ed007's Note - Sorry I can't see it happening.}

Agree0 Disagree0

This will be the same Wenger who has just promoteed Kyle Bartley to the senior squad eh! {Ed007's Note - What the hell has that got to do with anything? Wanyama's natural position is a CDM, that is why he is seen as an alternative to M'Vila. Wanyama has always said that is the position he wants to play *rolls eyes*}

Agree0 Disagree0

Wanyama is a potential star and I would love him to stay but lets be honest the player is destined for great things. I think he should stay for another year but as a player you always want to go higher. Hope he stays but I dont think he will unless we make CL. Still think Celtic should not cave and stick with at least 12 million starting price

Agree0 Disagree0

If we get upwards of £7 million, let him go, we will go on without him and we will be fine.

Christ in the past we have lost Larsson, Sutton, Hartson, Petrov, Lennon, Mjalby, Balde, ect, and we are still here. My point is no one is irreplaceable.

Agree1 Disagree0

If this is the true then well done to Celtic's scouting system. They have brought in a guy for 900k and we will hopefully get 10 times that after a year. Great business no matter how good the player is. I hope we still sell Ki and use some of the money to bring in a CB, a target man and a midfield playmaker.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed007's Man City entering the affray would be music to Lawwells and everyelses ears ....The right deal here could secure the clubs future for the next couple of years financially and any sort of run in Europe further secure it ...Leaving ,if Ki and maybe others are sold on a healthy budget for the manager and scouts to go again.... Future is looking bright whilst European foootball is crumbling around us .I think a wee bit of patience over the next 2/3 years we will see Celtic drawing level and overtaking some of the so called "big" teams and maybe challanging for last 8 or better CL place .... Wolves have said they will listen to offers for Christoph Berra, can we expect some interest from CFC?

Danjam

Believable8 Unbelievable14

Go for it, he is a Celtic fan as well as being adecent player.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hes crap, do you honestly think he is good enough for us? Why sign anybody if thats the standard?

Agree0 Disagree1

We've been looking for a CB as we need a shape-up at the back and Berra is a quality player. Hopefully Celtic show some interest.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope not, he's a bloody diddy.

TerribleBeauty

Agree0 Disagree1

There will be interest from us that's for sure,whether or not we make him or wolves a decent enough offer is another thing.

Would like to know how long is left on his current contract. If more than two years they may be open to a loan deal as this may mean he'd be back if they went back up, doesn't help long term but loan deals and free transfers are the in thing at lots of clubs these days.our club is no different , less risk means less money risked.obviously.

Our board ain't risking a thing

Jamie Mac {Ed007's Note - He only has one year left on his contract Jamie.}

Agree0 Disagree0

He is not as good as Charlie Mulgrew , why do we want to sign a CB from the team who finished bottom of their league , conceding goals galore ? We must aim for better .

Agree0 Disagree0

Think he is a better defender than Charlie but not a better player. Would maybe be worth a punt if the price was right. Wouldnt mind him and another top quality defender to come in and compete for places and give us some depth

Skooter

Agree0 Disagree0

International defender who knows the spl and should be available quite cheap and would be better than what we have bar mulgew.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would take a pint on him but would like to see a back four of izzy ,mulgrew ,lustig ,Mathews given a good run of games

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry watched him numerous times for Wolve's.He's not good enough.
Tambhoy (original )

Agree0 Disagree0

His team was relegated from a league a 100 times better than the SPl and he is now in a league that is 10 times better than SPL. Buying someone from the championship is not a bad thing, see Gary Hooper for proof. Berra would be a better CB than anything we have at CP right now. Hbhoy

Strong rumours of an Arsenal bid for Wanyama.In my opinion anything upwards of 7 million should be accepted.Facing facts,we were never gonna keep him much longer than this season,and to be honest we do have plenty cover in midfield.With the best will in the world,one bad injury and you lose a season from a player,look at Izzy,still trying to get back to what he was.This is the reality of where we are at the moment,invest in youngsters,sell them on for good profits,and trust our scouting network,i think they have earned that............green jhedi {Ed007's Note - It's not just a rumour GJ, Arsenal are finalising the details of a bid for Wanyama.}

Believable3 Unbelievable7

8 mill chamakh and a 25% sell on clause

bigD

Agree0 Disagree0

Have to sell at that price,but chamakh hes poor and we couldnt afford his wages....

Agree0 Disagree0

Bleed 'em dry Celtic. Bleed 'em dry.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry guys - I can't see where all this hype about a transfer fee in excess of £7 million is coming from for a guy who, at best, has shown potential in an inferior league. To the poster suggesting £8 million plus Chamakh plus a 25% sell on clause can I have some of what you're drinking? Wanyama wouldn't walk in to any big EPL club despite what you might think - he was shown up badly the other night by HJK and didn't exactly cover himself in glory at Ibrox either. I reckon anything above £3 million would be a good piece of business - as GJ says you could lose a player through injury and Celtic do have midfield cover.

Agree0 Disagree1

7 mill is never enough for him, he is a star in the making. henderson cost liverpool 20 mill, green ghedi should we sell our best player cheap just because we play in a p*sh poor league??

bigD

£8 million is not a bad price at all. Arsenal are not buying the finished product but getting a rough diamond with loads of potential. A sell on clause is a must. Hbhoy

if arsenal come in with a serious bid for wanyama and celtic accept it which a really hope they dont a hope they at least ask for cash plus player deal even squilacci at cb hes got plenty of champions league experience and played top level in la liga wae sevilla and epl then with that money buy another cb and a striker but a seriuosly hink we need a playmaker aswel sumbdy 2 play that killer pass we hav been missin for a gud few year

gunniebhoy

Believable3 Unbelievable7

Squilacci is long past his best. He is not good enough for Celtic. Granted the situation we find ourselves; we'd be better signing Ambrose (the young Nigerian)

Agree0 Disagree0

Lads you do not want Squillachi he's pure pi$h, I go to both Arsenal and Celtic games and I'm quite sad to see big Vic leave but going to Arsenal makes it a little sweeter, if a loan from Arsenal would be available I'd go for Aneke (midfield) or Miquel (defender)

Just found out that Mr Lawell has banned Keevins from Celtic Park.After reading and hearing some defence of Keevins,leggat being particularly stupid and insulting,i have to say well done.For more years than i care to remember this guy has been reporting with a skewed agenda regarding Celtic.His paper,and the sunday mail,were the cheer leaders in chief during the rangers dominated murray years.Remember the floating stadium? The casino complex? The five star hotel facilities? And on it went while portraying Celtic as some kind of lesser club being swatted aside by the mighty millions of murray.Even up till they could ignore it no more positives were being spun for rangers."wealth off the radar" claimed Keith jackson,Award winning journalist(I know)of the record.Are you a journalist if you print,unchecked,what a PR company tell you?The staggering arrogance shown by the Scottish media regarding bloggers,"internet bampots" i believe Keevins called them,bordered on sheer stupidity.I have heard King,Guidi,Keevins and lesser talents like Hannah, dismiss the RTC blog.Up until a few months ago they all claimed they had not read it,and yet call themselves journalists? This blog was more informed and accurate than any of their newspapers could have dreamed of being. Leggat claims to know Celtic fans who will be angry Keevins is banned,i would love to know who.For the life of me i cant think of any Celts with that attitude.Maybe if these guys were actually journalists they might have a case,but they are not.They are reporters,and not very good ones,who we dont need.If you want to read fair,balanced,and often critical reports of Celtic games,do it online.There are some fantastic bloggers and fan sites that dissect games post match.For years we have put up with"evil eyes in Paradise" All we ever asked for was parity,if that is beyond the remit of some,then ban them too.Criticism is welcomed,distortion and fabrication are not...........green jhedi

Believable13 Unbelievable8

Well said GJ, been waiting for this for so long now. I know a number of Celtic fans who do not realise the sheer inaccuracy and stupidity of this rag, and I beg all of you who do not see this to READ BETWEEN THE LINES, the Daily R*cord is a complete propaganda machine, cuddling up to the institutional club and the powers that be within.

Danjam

Agree0 Disagree1

Totally spot on gj. We've been kicked and ridiculed by Keevins and his cronies for years without even a hint of journalistic integrity. My favourite sporting moment of the year was when Alex Thomson absolutely ripped him a new one on SSB with Ned Flanders reduced to silence.

The latest stealth campaign by the MSM to make everyone feel sorry for Sevco and tell us how stupid, vindictive and bigoted(??) we all are for trying to enforce the rules just defies belief.

Good post mate, I have been reading your posts for some time now with great interest, and I share your views and dis-taste for a certain Scottish tabloid.

There opinions are bias and opinions are nothing short of cronyism.

I think every Celtic fan will agree when I say that we don't need our national press P1ss1ng on our leg and telling us it's raining, we know your agenda, so at least be man enough to admit it.

Keevins is like almost every (I excuse Mr Spiers) other Scottish football journalist....an incompetent, incoherent, unintelligent clown. One of my favourite days as a Celtic fan was when Big Cesar banjoed the t**t. Billy McNeill ....LEGEND

Agree0 Disagree0

Whilst I agree that shoe keeevins is a wee vindictive anti Celtic menace and should be given his marching orders he is only one of many that should never be allowed access to CP ..... there are very few in the MSM who dont have an agenda aginst our club and most only utter the word Celtic through gritted teeth ..... I hope this ban extends to certain broadcasters too ..... one certain craig burley should be told in no uncertain terms that his anti Celtic drivel will no longer be tolerated home or away .

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think Keevins is anti-Celtic. I think he says controversial things to wind people up and get a reaction so that they will phone his show. And by some of these comments I'd say he does it very well. Tbh I've heard him slate The Rangers just as many times as Celtic. Just my opinion.
Kevbhoy {Ed007's Note - Keevins is very good at his job, whether you agree with him or not. You are spot on about phone-in shows Kev, they are all like that, without controversy nobody would bother phoning them.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Billy banjoed Gerry MCNEE,AND THAT WAS WELL DESERVED as a young lad i remember an old driver showing me the back page of the express by mcnee a total character assasination of caesar,he even mentioned mcneill shouldnt be wearing track suits ,same era as cloughie in shorts trust me i couldnt make that up.But my all time fav is the SUNDAY MAILS WHO WIS BEST THE RANGERS OF 92 OR THE CELTS OF 67,ANYBODY REMEMBER IT? THEY GOT EX person ALEX MCDONALD TAE JUDGE AND GUESS WHAT THE IBROKES MOB WON BY A POINT AFTER ALL THESE YEARS I REMEMBER THAT...ALSO REMEMBER THE RECORDS DOUBLE PAGE FORTRESS IBROX 40 ODD GAMES UNDEFEATED BEST TEAM THEY PLAYED WIS ....CELTIC.AT THE SAME TIME CELTIC HAD 1 DEFEAT OR SOMETHING WHEN WE HAD PLAYED LIVERPOOL,JUVE,BARCA,ETC ETC IF ANYONE CAN GET A HOLD OF THESE PAGES COULD YOU POST THEM SOME YOUNG GUYS THINK IM NUTS,ALSO BILL LECKIES ATTACK ON PAUL MCSTAY SHAMEFUL....OR LECKIE BEGGIN SIR DUPED TO BUY JURGEN KLINGSMAN.DOES ANYONE REMEMBER KEITH JACKSONS WEALTH OF THE RADAR IF I WIS HIS EDITOR ID HAVE SACKED HIM ON THE SPOT,OOHHH HIS ED WIS JABBA....

Agree0 Disagree1

DISAGREE ED,SORRY.... {Ed007's Note - I explained the other day why I have no time for the man. His actions last year were despicable and shows how low he will stoop to grab attention. It backfired on him big time. I helped a children's charity last summer bring it to his employers at the time attention:

Keevins has tried all his career ? to follow in the footsteps of one, Jimmy Sanderson, The problem is, he would not make a very good Gerry Mc Nee and in my opinion he was a dud.

Well said GJ. Always follow your posts (even on the Rangers Rumours site) and you talk common sense. Keevins - egotistical ponce who curries favour with the high heid yins at every opporchancity. Real journalists investigate before publishing. Keevins just spews out publicity seeking trash and yes, much of it is to create controversy for HIS show. I gave up on the daily rag a few years ago. Just wondering where the 7 million fee for wanyama came from surley if were not looking to sell him it would take alot more {Ed007's Note - We will soon find out what he is worth, Arsenal are preparing to make a bid for Wanyama.}

Believable6 Unbelievable0

I think a bid of 9 million would be realistic if clubs want wanyama. personally i think he will go to epl this window, great player but overrun with great midfielders at moment and whose to say lennon hasnt got a few aces up his sleeve. if we are all realistic here we are a feeder club to epl,la liga etc,which is why lennon and lawell have went for the buy young sell high route. would like to keep him but money talks and we simply cant compete these days with even the championship saleries.........bhoywonder.
