All talk tonight has been about players coming in but must say I'm glad we have managed to keep all our top players . Bring on the champions league hail hail . Dee Dee

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Exactly now we can offer wanyama and hooper improved contracts with buyout clauses of at least ten mil.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah totally agree,TBH thought arsenal would have come back with a better offer for wanyama cos we have something special in him and he will play for a top European club, bigger than arsenal.

I'm a very happy bhoy. Wanted a CB. Got one. Wanted a CF. Got one. And a keeper thrown into the bargain as well.

Let's get behind the team now, and support these players. just cause they arent expensive or high profile doesnt mean you should criticize.

Very disappointed with celtics lack off spending again! They just made 20 odd million from Ki and the CL but buy 1 player and get 2 on loan. Jordi Bhoy.

Believable6 Unbelievable7

Wait before you criticize.

Danjam

Agree0 Disagree0

Jesus man get real. We cut our cloth accordingly not for 6 games. The big bonus is we didn't lose any of our crown jewels this window. No "thank you Peter for rejecting £10m+ for Wanyama". We will be grand and secure financially. I like how Celtic are run.

Agree1 Disagree0

Dry your eyes mate !
pedro sanchez

Agree0 Disagree0

Well they won't be spending anymore money! Apart from wages. Am not saying the players they got aren't good or nothing but was just hoping for buys rather than loans... Jordi Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

10 plus million ?? no wonder your happy if you keep exaggerating every thing you see

Agree0 Disagree0

Apart from the CL money and sale of ki what about season ticket sales, I bought another season ticket 3 years in a row now I have all the tops aswell and I agree with Jordie bhoy we have been short changed again jst one big singing would do not 1 signing and 2 loans get real were not that skint.

Agree0 Disagree0

WTF u talking about! 15m from the champions league and 6m for Ki plus add ons. That not 20 odd million?

Agree0 Disagree0

WHAT... 10m plus? You for real mate?

Agree0 Disagree0

Been buying a season ticket since 1983 and all the tic tops. Still happy to take my seat at CP and support the bhoys. What is your point? Hbhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

My point is if we want to sell more season tickets we have to have new attractions simple, if Alton towers didn't bring out new rides people would go somewhere that did, simples : )

could james mcfadden be the striker that does not have have to be signed tonight

Believable6 Unbelievable6

Who cares to be perfectly honest, probably sit injured for the duration and the other signings are going to really enthrall people to buy season tickets next season. PL is a dirty thieving person.

yeah okay we have qualified and we have made some cash from the sale of Ki, but what you need to remember is that the club needs to cover itself against all possibilities and eventualities that may occur in the coming seasons. fo example if we win the league again this season and get knocked out of the european qualifiers then the club needs to cover those losses! its simple business practice and tyhats why we are the best team in scotland and not playing in Division 3. relax and enjoy the competition. my belief is that if we do this everyseason and steadily add better players to the squad then i believe within 3-4 years we will see another europa cup final ! patience!

Believable6 Unbelievable4

So how have we steadily added better players this season ? sold ki for 6 million and spent less than a million and a loan player who doesnt belong to us

I believe they have till Monday which is the CL deadline ... (stupid question coming up )Does that mean any player signed from now to Monday can only play CL games ? .... TTTS {Ed007's Note - Free agents will be able to play in all tournaments as long as they aren't cup-tied.}

Agree0 Disagree0

It says on Celticfc.net that we are still looking to bring in striker before champions league deadline . Could it be Owen ? Dee dee

Agree0 Disagree0

Am more concerned about our defence! Was hopping for an experienced CB. Jordi Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont worry about another striker Miku is evactly what we have been short off, big composed pacy and he can finish, only doubt it the amount of clubs he has been at ,so best way to get him and get the best of him could be a loan deal.mark my words this guy you will love another master stroke by our scouts

Evening folks, just sitting here watching a web site mulling things over. Ok we all agree we're a well run club, good young team, books balancing nicely etc but yet again promises of 3 or 4 quality additions is wide off the mark. The last 3 or 4 windows i've sat like thousands hoping for a "bums on seats signing". CL money, Ki money and about 10 others off the wage bill ........ Surely we could have done a bit better with signings. We could still have been quite shrewd without spending multi millions but wouldn't it have been nice for once just to have that signing that sends us all off to bed with a huge smile on our faces.

Agree0 Disagree0

Know how you feel but realistically speaking if you look at the zombies situation we do not want to be anywhere near their level. There's been upwards of £450 m spent today in the Epl
alone and we aint gonna compete in that market with our CL earnings and upset the wage structure....frustrating i know but these days we are in a lofty perch compared to some

Green Judge

Agree0 Disagree0

I think that Watt's recent performance at Inverness and appearance against Helsingborg has made Lennon's mind up to go with Watt as Hooper's partner rather than hold him back by buying a striker that would want guaranteed a place in the starting 11 , i think the signing of Miku is merely backup for them both and just to freshen things up. Yes we would all like a signing of sheer class to put bums on seats, but no one is interested in the SPL even with 6 champions league games. All the money we earn from season tickets, nike, champions league and player sales are better used to expand the academy for the future of our game, we have at least 4 years before we see SEVCO so we should use this time to get thing right from the roots, and lets face it who will challenge us for the title for the next 4 years ? SteveR

Agree0 Disagree0

No were yous are coming from, however let's give our 2 new bhoys a chance. Lennon says miku is a powerful striker...don't know about yous but I like the sound of that. Ian L

Agree0 Disagree0

What do you expect Celtic to spend.....bring in guys at £4-5M for the sake of 6 CL games, FFS get a grip.
the squad we have we will win the league (possible treble) this season. i would rather clear our debt than top up the pension funds of some ageing player. Were you disappointed when we signed big victor, kayal, izzy. Celtic have a policy of signing players under £2M with a view of selling them on in a few years for a profit, nothing wrong with that!
if you were looking for a new house , would you buy a decent one you could afford or would you buy a mansion that you couldnt afford??

Agree0 Disagree0

I am fkn sick to death of reading this glory hunting bullish*t about "marquee signings" honestly. Are you all 14 year olds, is that what it is? Premiership and SPL history is littered with "marquee signings" Roy Keane, Robbie Keane, Freddie Ljungberg to name just a few of ours. The facts are they wont come to the SPL unless they are over the hill or overpaid and even with the lure of Champions League football they wont cut they're demands. And it almost always ends up the same story, They never contribute enough to justify the transfer fee or wages and it ends up seeming like its all been an exercise to massage the fans ego's. Im all for us bringing in genuine quality international players, and a big name player would be nice IF he is at the right age, is costing what he's worth and that we are paying him a realistic wage and not pi55ing money away. The facts are that there is no value in the transfer market when looking at the players these people want us to sign. Agents have ripped the heart out of the game and they are calling the shots as to where players are going.

We have a signing strategy that is working, and everyone can see that. 6 million for KI was good business. And we have turned down 5.5 million for hooper because we will get more, apparently rejected 7.5 million for Wanyama for the same reason, and our other players value will keep going up after exposure to Champions League football.

Celtic trying to rush through a big flash signing on transfer deadline day to appease the egomaniacs would be a financial backpass. No question about it.

We have signed Efe Ambrose who John Parks has scouted and Miku who is a seasoned international Striker who is a regular in La Liga and scored in big games against Real Madrid, Barca, Valencia etc.

This is were we are at just now, and i have no complaints. We have just qualified "as champions" for the Champions League for the first time in 4 years, we have a young vibrant team who play good football and the shame are in the 3rd division, if you cant enjoy being a Celtic fan now people, them i'm afraid you never will.

Agree0 Disagree0

OP, in your opinion can you name some of the quality signings we should have signed?

Agree0 Disagree0

Mate Celtic have never come out and said they have a signing policy for younger players under or around 2 million so that's absolute garbage, we will & should sign players that are available. Secondly that's such a bad example re the house. We've just taken in 21 million + (CL and Ki sale) of thet we've spent 800'000 so dont gimme that garbage if we bought players we'd be bankrupt. I'm well aware of the current climate / situation we find ourselves in but loan signings just don't do it for me. Basically with loans we're signing another clubs Daryl Murphys or Mo Banguras. 3 or 4 million spent wouldn't have crippled us.

Gary

Agree0 Disagree0

Was Forster not a loan signing? Hbhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree 100%it would have been nice to have that one real quality signing but it loks like lawell has sold us short again. With all the wages he will have saved from outgoing players, the Ki transfer and champs league money surely he could do better.

Getafe forward Nicolas Miku Fedor has joined Celtic a one-year loan deal.

The Venezuelan, who has been with the La Liga side since 2010, was subject of a successful temporary bid from Neil Lennon's side earlier on Friday.

Formerly of Valencia, Miku has 40 caps for his country, scoring 10 goals. He spent six years with Los Che, spending time on loan at Alcoyano, Salamanca, Ciudad Murcia, Gimnastic and Salamanca before making the move to Getafe two years ago.

Miku has made 85 appearances for Getafe, scoring 25 times. He was on target against both Real Madrid (twice) and Valencia.

Played mainly as a striker, the 27-year-old can also be deployed on the right flank.

does anyone know anything about the getafe striker we trying to get on a loan deal ?

Believable1 Unbelievable2

He is a midfielder really, maybe at most plays behind the front man

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah celtic have signed him on a1yr loan

Agree0 Disagree0

He has signed a year loan deal. Swansea bid £5 ml but getefe wanted £8 ml. Looks ok

Agree0 Disagree0

Think hes just signed a 1 years deal. he scored12 goals for getafe in la liga last season. and a double against real madrid at bernabeau

Agree0 Disagree0

Remember the policy is buy in guys that may have a sell on value in time. i suppose the getafe striker if successful here may wish to make the move permanent and that makes him, in Celtic's estimation, real estate. Same with efe, short price on players who are internationals and turn them into multi-million pound players after doing a turn for the club. I'd love to see marquee, but its not part of the signing policy. Russell and mackay stevens are still on the radar and am sure come January they will be again connected with a move.

Agree0 Disagree0

We have secured Miku one year loan deal, scored 12 goals for Getafe last season,2 against Real Madrid at Bernabeau

Agree0 Disagree0

Watched his goals on you tube and he looks like a CF to me . He also wears the no7 ......DH

Agree0 Disagree0

He's a striker who can play right wing

Agree0 Disagree0

Great bit of business by NL

Agree0 Disagree0

Pay no notice to him mate, MIKU IS A STRIKER!! Not even close to being a midfielder. He's over 6 feet, good in the air (though he's no Duncan Ferguson) and is good with both feet. He is a quality player and a good signing for us if everything goes through ok.

Over £20m in from cl and sale of ki plus another £5m per year of the wage bill from the players released/sold and we only spend £3m - what is going on, we are back in the champs league - show some ambition

Believable6 Unbelievable4

Dont know why your surprised, Celtic have always scrimped when it comes to spending. The team is not the priorty its keeping the books balanced.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not been on in ages ed. Still keep tabs from time to time. But as for this post, PL will not spend much because this seasons SPL is all but wrapped up and we dont realistically have a chance in the CL. The board are happy to see us get £15m a season without winning the big cup. I hate it as much as any fellow Bhoy or Ghirl but reality is as it seems. P.S. The Australian side announced on their website Friday that the 37-year-old Del Piero, whose 19-season spell with Juve ended last season, had "agreed to finalise details on a contract with the Sky Blues."

However after Stefano Del Piero said the announcement was premature the club were forced into amending the statement to say they would be coming to Turin early next week in a bid to effectively twist Del Piero's arm.

The club have already made huge efforts to lure Del Piero Down Under, highlighting the lifestyle attractions Sydney offers.

But the lure of staying in Europe, and the possibility of playing Champions League football, could prompt Del Piero to stay on the continent.

Del Piero, the agent, later told ANSA that representatives from Sydney would be in Turin "in the first days of next week".

"Obviously things were misinterpreted this morning. We still have to properly analyse the project," Stefano Del Piero said.

"(The offer) has not left Alessandro indifferent, we're talking about a two-year deal worth $2 million a year.

"It's a serious offer, but that doesn't mean everything's decided. Only once we look at all the details will Alessandro be able to make a decision. It's exactly what we did with the offer from Sion."

FC Sion, who had hoped to lure Del Piero just over the border, are not involved in European football's premier club competition.

Hi All ,

Off topic , but as we are all Hoops fans we will all at some point have had to listen to how great the EPL is bla bla bla. Just watching the Chelski getting hammered after just 45 mins , i think this could be a year where the EPL teams struggle in the Champs Lge.

Back to the Hoops - less than a million for Ambrose. I really do hope we spend on a big striker. Hooper needs the help especially against good teams in Europe.

I've been shot down in flames on here by certain posters in the PL camp but today will go down as yet another missed opportunity.
The lack of signings to freshen things up and missed targets leaves me totally underwhelmed. This was the time to show our ambition for Europe and we've been let down by the board/PL, blame who you want. Next time he asks (begging open letters/addresses to the masses) for our hard earned cash and promises of investment in team remind him!
Had enough of it and before we get the "lets bear in mind what happened to them" forget it, its entirely different scenario. Will support the team tomorroe as always but totally hacked off. Stevo Dundee

Believable6 Unbelievable6

What's the point of splashing out big money for the CL if by some bit of madness we spent £25 million on 4 or 5 good signings there is no guarantee we would get out the group states, at this level we are up against teams who spend more than that on one player

Agree0 Disagree0

I totally agree with this post. Once again we appear to have been shafted with broken promises. Even had the audacity to send me a letter asking if someone i know or family would purchase a season ticket. We back the club with our hard earned cash, how's about repaying the fans, get the finger out or the biscuit mentality regardless of the Rangers plight will return.

Agree0 Disagree0

Give it a break. You seem like someone that will never be happy. Trust and support.

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont know if its Glasgow Celtic you ar following, but there has been massive investment compared to turnover since NL took over. Supporters need to get real. I like the policy of buying raw talent and developing it as well as homegrowing our own. Why are you moaning? CL for 1st time in 4 years, an improving squad, manager and financial position. Cheer up ffs!

Bankie Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

I can't speak for everyone but i would rather you didn't go back to Celtic park if that's your attitude. I mean listen to yourself getting all worked up cos you've fell for all the transfer deadline extravaganza bullsh*t. I will be buying my season ticket and the new kits till I'm old to do so. You sound like one of "them" pal.

Peter lawwell isn't perfect but I'm 100% sure he is doing what is right for the club. It's an unenviable job he has when he has people like you who don't do the maths and just want to see big names brought in on ridiculously high wages. We've signed Ambrose who has been scouted and there may be one more on the way but ntheres no pleasing some people because theyre only interested if it's has been superstars who were after.

If your done, as you put it then why don't you go and join the glory hunter in division 3.

Agree0 Disagree0

Who said anythin about 25 million?? Aw we r wantin is a few decent signins 2 give us a chance in the cl.. Neilly

Agree0 Disagree0

Why not congratulate him for CL prices - 3 tickets for £84. Cheaper than 4 years ago. Also agree with other reply.

SSBhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Pay your st money to watch and support the team if your upset about signings go and play football manager and make as many signings as like to make u feel better! I for one am more than happy with NL squad.

Agree0 Disagree0

A missed opportunity to do what ? spend big on players on big wages that need to be paid next year and the next year on the back of one years guarenteed cl cash. thats exactly the economics that put sevco in div 3 . Season ticket income is down , attendances are down and we cant compete on wages for top players anyway. PL is excercising corporate responsibility and very well at that. Other than 6 cl games attracting players to celtic has never been harder. and they need to be better than what we have already. not easy

Watt for 200k or Rhodes for £8m ....I know which one id prefer .... Spending millions doesnt gurantee success (Flo ) .... TTTS

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with OP.
I back Lenny and Peter everytime and never question how the club is run as I totally trust them, however I do feel a little bit short changed in that a 3-4m striker hasn't been brought in.

We need freshened up a little and it would give all a boost.

Richybhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Hhmmm. I think if you polled the fans with 'who do you want, Tony Watt or Del Piero on 30k per week' i know what the answer would be. Bring the young guys through, and enjoy cheering them on. At least they would give their all for the club. By all means spend, but buy the right players who we can develop and sell on at a later date.

Agree0 Disagree0

Have to agree with Bankie Bhoy. I would rather see us not spend money on anybody than spend it for the sake of making some signings.

Agree0 Disagree0

You can see the guys point surely, pulling in 20 million and invested 1.2 back into the squad so far no great is it. jonbhoy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sounds like you are not allowed to criticise Celtic here, or your not welcome at Celtic paRK, cos you might be one of them, what total nonsense, you pay your money, you can make your point, I agree we are being short changed in terms of player investment, I have had a season ticket for 22 years and I expect a measure of investment to improve our team, Jonny Russell is available to 2m and would improve our squad..so the poster is right and you lot need to remember that critiscism is allowed and is healthy... Well said mate and you'l take your rightful place like me tomorrow... Yours in the hoops, Brendan

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with the poster we have been short changed again, lennon has built a very good squad and all we are asking is for a bit of experience to help our young squad ie cb and target man.we are not taking about spending 25 mill or what the people done.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thx jonbhoy & brendan. you're right, just because i dont pretend to feel happy about the lack of signings then I'm a sevco fan. absolutely shocking attitude and comments i'd expect to see on their site, poor show. I'll make no more comment on the matter but for everyone giving me grief be big enough to post your name at end of post and when you all start moaning in a few months time do the same so I can respond in kind. I'll be in Paradise tomorrow, will you? Stevo Dundee

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally right mate what right has anyone on here got to tell people their not welcome to parkhead ?? who do these guys think they are ?? its all ohh look what happened to the other mob but that other mob spent more money today than us and their in the 3rd ill say something and couldnt care less about the stick but that other mob dont short change their fans like liewell does

Agree0 Disagree0

Your welcome bud - window closed and we have spent hee haw.... and still chasing some geezer who has no contract, yeah that will see us alright in the champions league... And before you lot hit us with your "get a grip..or you're one of them" reality gems, remember our manager said yesterday he would wish to qualify for the last 16... Lenny is my hero and he is getting no help from our complacent, pompous board.... Still with you buddy hail hail, Brendan

Celtic's new signing, defender Efe Ambrose, has been speaking about his move to Glasgow from FC Ashod.

"It has been a long day, but it has been worth it," said the 24-year-old. "Today is one of the happiest days of my life, signing for one of the biggest clubs in the world - a club I have known about since I was young.

"I just can't wait to get started, to play in front of the fans and call this place home.

"I have come here to find we are in the same group as Barcelona, Benfica and Spartak Moscow. It's a lovely group, you might call it the group of death and it will be hard, but hard work always pays."

Efe Ambrose signs for Celtic on a 3 year contract.

Have to say, i seen the pictures of him going in the main doors at Celtic Park on TV and he's hardly a big commanding looking centre half. Lucky if he's 6ft and he's built like the side of a fiver! Hope im wrong and need to get to specsavers (2 pairs for the price of 1)

R1888

Believable6 Unbelievable4

Mowbury signed ki

Agree0 Disagree0

They are still low profile, apart from ki who has only been recognised due to the olympics/international career. Of those mentioned, two cant make their international squad, one is a shadow of his former self, one is injury prone and the other was supposed to have signed for one of the epl big 4 by now for multi millions, yet nothing has happened. progress has been made but im sick of these over the top fans. lets get realistic, do well to avoid defeat in all our group games.

Agree0 Disagree0

Was it no wee Gordon that signed ki.

Agree0 Disagree0

Add to that one Henrik Larson.

Enough said

Nigerian international defender Efe Ambrose is close to a deal with Celtic.

TV understands the Ashdod centre back is in Glasgow and is due at Celtic Park for further talks shortly as the transfer deadline approaches.

Celtic have until 11pm to wrap up any deal, as manager Neil Lennon looks to add three players to his squad.

Capped 14 times by his country, the 23-year-old moved to Israel in 2010 and has made 67 appearances for Ashdod, scoring three.

Would love to see Wily Boly come in as well as Russell.

Cant see Matt Phillips coming to us, theres a few prem teams interested.

Heres hopin NL and PL doesnt let us all down again.

RM {Ed007's Note - He might not be cup tied, I don't actually have time to check just now. Some people are saying the ruled changed but UEFA never flagged up such a change.}

Believable1 Unbelievable2

He's not cup-tied. You can play for another team in the Group Stage after playing in the qualifiers

Agree0 Disagree0

He is cup tied Ed. I posted this elsewhere.

The main current exception is the European Super Cup, contested by the winners of the previous seasons UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League. Representing a club in this fixture does not affect a player's eligibility.

Similarly, cup-tying did not apply in any matches in the now-defunct UEFA Intertoto Cup before the semifinal round.

Further, as per Champions League regulation 17.18, one player per club who would normally be cup-tied can be registered and eligible to play, so long as his previous club did not field him in the same competition, meaning that this player can represent two different clubs in the Europa League and Champions League. However, if the first club fielded him in the Champions League, but would later play in the Europa League through finishing third in the group stage, the transferred player is ineligible to play in the Europa League.

This was the case with Alan Hutton who could not play in Europe for Tottenham Hotspur following his former club Rangers' entry into the cup. Another interesting case came in 2009, when Real Madrid purchased both Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Lassana Diarra – both of whom had already played European football during the season for Ajax and Portsmouth respectively – during the winter transfer window. Because of UEFA rules, Madrid had to pick one player via regulation 17.18, and ended up selecting Diarra for their European roster. Despite the rule, Real Madrid attempted to circumvent the restriction, to no avail {Ed007's Note -

Agree0 Disagree0

What do you mean again, when has neil failed in the transfer window??

Agree1 Disagree0

No worries cheers ed, can see why they bid for him if he is eligible to play.

Agree0 Disagree0

When have lenny and peter let us down? I think you may be getting mixed up with Minty and fat sally

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree0 Disagree0

Tottenham? Real Madrid? Ajax? Portsmouth? WTF. The rules were changed THIS YEAR, not in recent years. If you play in a CL qualifier, you will not be cup tied to play for another team in the group stages. Also, any yellow cards picked up in qualifiers do not carry on into the group stages.

Your welcome

I agree mate, don't see anything happening. If so it will end up being a squad player and not a player that can jump straight into the team. Let's face facts we are now a selling club never a good sign!

Agree0 Disagree0

I understand the frustration, and I want new players as much as anyone, BUT it cannot be business at any cost.

It's that attitude that has landed the Southsiders in Sevco, and noone at Celtic wants to go down that path. Love him or loath him, Peter Lawwell runs Celtic as a businessm which in my mind is the principal reason we ARE in business.

Wouldn't mind a wee puff of white smoke from either Lennoxtown or Parkhead though...

Agree0 Disagree0

The boy Barbosa from Braga will not be cup tied i heard because he did not play in CL for Braga. {Ed007's Note - Yes he did.}

Agree0 Disagree0

It is in a large part down to Peter Lawwell that Celtic are in such a strong financial position even before qualiying for the group stages of th CL. His stewardship and financial acumen are the foundation for a successful Celtic. The "speculate to accumulate" model of football management has been consigned to the dustbin forever;look what happened to our friends in Govan! We should be very proud of him and of the management team at CP. I would like him to sign a Paul Elliot type centre back costing £8-10 million but we simply cannot compete with top Championship teams let alone those in the EPL. In Peter Lawwell we trust.

I wouldn't mind a wee puff of whatever you're smoking. CL guaranteed, fees for Rasmusen, Ki, Hooiveld and Juarez, several first team players off the wage bill, Bangura and Murphy away on loan and still pleading poverty! Don't need to burst the bank but a couple of decent signings is NOT too much to ask.
PS The first person that says 'oh but we tried to sign Del Piero' is getting a boot on the balls!

Agree1 Disagree0

I respect what he does for the club financially, but Lenny needs to put a team on the park, and with half the team missin through injury and rely on the youth we ain't going to do much! I don't agree with everyone when they say we can win the SPL with our youth, shows no respect to Dundee utd and co! Our youth players look like they could be real good players, but they need time....won't be that in 6 month time and we ain't in the position we thought we'd be in, everyone will complain that we should of invested money in the team and we shouldn't have relied on youth! I remember when strachan was in charge, willo flood was our only jan window signing and we can safely say the lack of investment cost us the title that year! I don't want Celtic to splash the cash, just want the players that have gone replaced....several out but 1 in, come on guys u can't say ur happy with that? I'm a true bhoy been attending CP for over 20 years, not a a website season ticket holder like most!

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree surely the champions league money wasnt counted for this season.so surely we can give lennon say 5 mill off that money.i will be gutted if we dont get a cb and target man.lennon has built a fantastic young team but needs these 2 players to complete it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ya beauty! A striker that doesn't score goals, just what we need - in the tradition of Fortune, Bangura, Samaras and Murphy.

Agree1 Disagree0

This is not the type of player we need but to the poster that samaras cant score he creates nearly every goal hooper scores who only seems to score from inside the six yard box these days

Agree0 Disagree0

This deal stinks of the Pawel Brozek one!

Agree0 Disagree0

I posted about Sammy and he is playing better in the left midfield role, my point is that Celtic have a tendency to go for forwards who don't score enough. Goal scorers win games (and therefore leagues and cups). Even the much peltered Kris Boyd was a key player for the former club in Govan because he kept scoring and brought them trophies. We should be beating teams in the SPL by 4 and 5 goals and we will if we have a proven goalscorer in the team. (I also agree with your note on Hooper - thought Watt actually gave him a bit of a showing up at the weekend)

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm hopeful we'll see a couple of signings before the deadline tonight, but on the opposite side I think this has been a very successful summer. All the fringe players that were sucking up wages have been moved on - some released and others sold to raise money. For too long this ridiculous idea of ‘not being a selling team’ has held the club back as we accumulated a squad of hangers on and failed to capitalise on selling for a profit. Even the biggest teams sell players so there’s no shame in that. Get first team quality players in and use the youth system as cover – the youngsters have never let us down when called on.

Well done PL and NL - now don't let us down with a couple of signings!

Ki, Rasa n Juarez gone for a fee. Majstorovic, Loovens, Mark Wilson, Cervi, Cha, O'Dea, Hooiveld n McGinn released. Bangura, Murphy n a couple eh the youths out on loan... Forster in n jst under 11 hrs to go until the window shuts?

A few rumoured targets have went elsewhere in the past 36 hrs includin Yoshida to Southampton, Janko to Trabzonspor, Rhodes to Blackburn, Henriksen to AZ n now Del Piero to Sydney?!

Kenwyne Jones on loan n Johnny Russell in seem the most likely. If we only sign one or two players then I'll go in to the group stage expectin to get 0 pts, then anythin we do get is a bonus!

Also hearing Boly has flew to Italy for a medical with Fiorentina?

What rumours have you heard that are gathering speed today Ed?

HamiltonBhoy {Ed007's Note - The Ambrose deal looks likely, some news agencies are reporting he has already signed but there is nothing official from anyone yet. From what I've seen he looks a player!

ED sorry for two posts but wanted to keep them separate. Now for my rant..
I am fed up hearing Darryl King, Chick Young, Traynor etc all going on about "poor Rangers" and printing all McCoists rubbish about "a threadbare squad"
Excuse me but they are paying all their players SPL wages, all are full time,
and have a state of the art training ground.
Compare that to the 3rd division clubs ALL PART TIME, with a full time job, no proper training facilities, most young teenagers. Tell me who has the advantage?
Then all this Green rubbish about Sevco being "debt free" yes only because they NEVER paid their debts.
Celtic, thanks to prudent finances will be GENUINELY debt free, all debts will
be paid and Celtic will have a bank balance in the black. But doing it the PROPER WAY.
Sorry for rant but Darryl King in particular makes my blood boil, has he ever printed even one story NOT about Sevco?
Anyway they are all literally Green with envy over Celtic's achievements.
Hail hail Neil T

Believable6 Unbelievable3

Neil a guy was shot down on the radio last night over a statement he made, it was regarding Ally as a Manager.

He was saying his doubters should remember they had beat Falkirk which is a giant killing as they are a 3rd division team. However it was pointed out to him rangers were not relegated to the 3rd division through bad results and their first choice was to apply to play in the SPL. They have full time, experienced SPL players on SPL wages and as you have said much, much better all round facilities ~ Mrs E

Agree0 Disagree0

C green makes my blood boil, with his debt free talk an absoloute disgrace so it is,he will do sevco no good hes just makin a quik buck his words, what can sevconians say wen they have aw backed him wen it goes t!s up,its not oor fault most probably, mccoist will finish 3rd behind elgin n peterheed would love elgin to turn them over at ibrokes at weekend, coz i think elgin n peterheed will win most of there home games to and there away record cant be any worse than sevcos so heres hoping RANT OVER sorry

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2012 13:29:59
Afternoon Ed just on for two reasons firstly to praise Neil and the bhoys on
reaching CL and secondly for a rant, I will post rant separate.
Great to see us back in with the big boys, looking at team though, Izzy is still way short of form he showed before his leg break. Wanyama also was careless with some passing.
But on the plus side I thought Forster had a good game again, as did Wilson, big Sammy is coming back to his best but he needs to look up more and pass to players in a better goal scoring position. Young Forrest excites all us fans but again his final cross is poor. The kid Watt is some prospect also.
Other good thing is both Celtic's and Scottish coefficients get big boost.
Also Celtic made £1.5m for the other 12 premier teams. If they even get £100k each that should cover for loss of Sevco fans visits.
So where is all the doom and gloom merchants now about Armegeddon?
Finally Celtic fans were brilliant Wednesday and I soaked up the real match atmosphere hail hail Neil T {Ed007's Note - Good afternoon Neil, always good to hear from you. I'm glad you enjoyed the match on Wednesday and your health is improving, take care.}

I dont care about Scotlands coefficient, the only thing im concerned with is Celtic winning as many matches in europe or even a draw, for our own coefficient whicn after Seville was over 56.400, its now something like 33,600, and we missed out on pot 3 for the CL because the next club Kiev had 38. whatever
if we can continue doing well in europe, even if we have to play an extra quali round, we will have enough points to e seeded, which is all important and keeps us apart from the more awkward teams, so just think of our own coeffecient and to hell with scotlands, the other clubs contribute nothing in terms of coefficient points

Linnie88

Agree0 Disagree1

Wanyama is a defensive midfielder and is akin to the likes of Michael Essien when he first joined Chelsea. His best ability is his strength and tackling and he is also good on the ball. He is also versatile in that he can play in defence as well as midfield.

Agree0 Disagree0

Im a celtic fan. you wouldnt like him ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

Too good for man utd. kevslug.

Agree0 Disagree0

A big physical stron player but by no means the finished article. Would he get a game for Utd at the moment, cant see it toi be honest. I think he needs at least another year playing every week, trying himself in Europe and then lets see where he goes. There is no doubting he has potential but so have many many players over the years. Come back in 12 months and you may then have a player who could be the best midfield enforcer you have had since Keano.

Agree0 Disagree0

H eis an attacking midfield big and strong and gets goals as well only 21 years old reminds me of Stllian Petrov in a way hope we hold onto him however he has expressed interest to play in EPL.Great capture if you get him.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - http://www.player-profiles.co.uk/victor-wanyama.php

Agree0 Disagree0

The boy is class! plays defensive mid but can also play centre half! he's a essien type player! really physical, great tackler, great in the air but also is a very good passer of the ball! really dominates the centre of the park and dictates the tempo of the game! he's only 21 and is going to be something special. dont think you willl get him this year though, he will play for celtic for 1 more year then move to one of the worlds top teams for £15million

Agree0 Disagree0

He is the best player at Celtic. he has 'EPL' written all over him. He is still very slightly raw, but has enormous potential (ie to be a real world class midfielder). I actually think Ki was sold to swansea to ensure wanyama does not need to leave now. i don't think M Utd will be able to sign him today. Perhaps in the future - he is easily good enough for your team.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wanyama is holding out for a bigger club... That leaves only Barca. Man Utd are not near his level.

Sorry.

Linnie88

Agree0 Disagree0

Wanyama outstanding talent would easy fit into to man utd team and still only a boy he is a holding midfielder and an absolute beast of a boy obviously as a celtic fan i hope he stays but if not id rather he went to a massive club like man utd

Agree0 Disagree0

You's can't afford him and he wouldn't leave paradise anyway......but if van persie impresses we might take him from you in the jan window

Agree0 Disagree0

Beware he would probably eat carrick and cleverly!

Agree0 Disagree0

I saw a guy say he was a good passer in an earlier reply, got to be honest the guy couldn't pass water just now! and his tackling isn't up to EPL standards, but is a big solid player and has all the basics to be moulded into a world class player. As people has said earlier give it a season or two and he'll be the finished article, he's still only young!

Agree0 Disagree0

Wanyama is garbage, cant run ,pass, tackle head, hes had 2 good games and they have been telivised, would be rubbish in epl, yous wouldnt want him:-).....................bhoywonder

Agree0 Disagree0

He is the next big thing to come out of Scotland and would set a new transfer record, when he moves on he will be one of the greatest players to play his position. He would like to play in epl but I see him in barca or real madrid and that would have them at the top and set for many years. He would shut down every player in man u not to mention all epl, another year under him and whoever gets him would be getting a gem. Hope he stays for a few more years to have a crack in cl cause with him in we have a good chance just by the way he shuts ppl down.

neil lennon looking at kevin thomson today £700'000 from middlesbrough

Believable8 Unbelievable16

Die hard rangers lad, he would not come and thats a fact, Im pals with his brother!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Yer ryt, the boy cant keep fit.

Agree0 Disagree0

Money talks even if he's a die hard. Champions League or Ramsdens cup and his decision is made. Having said that I would not want him anywhere near Celtic we would be paying him for warming the bench cos he could not get in the team.....

Agree0 Disagree0

Complete Rubbish, nowehre near the quality of Celtic midfielders.

The Celtic shirt does not shrink to fit inferior players.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mate...who the F*CK would want him here? Thomson wouldn't even get the opportunity to turns us down. He couldnt even get into our development squad. He's finished.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't want him, total rubbish. We have a better midfield than him! Would rather have vidar reiseth back haha

Kenny dalgliesh was rangers daft

Connor Wickham deal will go through around lunchtime today, season long loan deal the expected outcome.

Believable6 Unbelievable11

Fairly pathetic attempt at squad strengthening, so is probably true. Disappointing. JeanPierre

Agree0 Disagree0

Sunderland fan here, whickham going nowhere as were gonna offload campbell so well need cover!

Agree0 Disagree0

Pathetic ?? He has been capped by England at under-16, under-17, under-19 and under-21 level and won the U17 European Championships with his country in May 2010, scoring the winner against Spain in the final. Not bad for a 19 year old, £8.1m signing.

Agree0 Disagree0

He is a very talented player. It would be a good move for him, but we would be looking for a wee bit more experience, hence the pessimism.

The Italian press say that the dead line doesn't count for Del Piero as he is a free agent. Many also predict he will choose Celtic. "The idea of seeing Del Piero in green and white certainly has the most charm" (La Gazzetta dello Sport)

Sly are reporting major Celtic interest in Kenwyne Jones, this rumour is gaining momentum. Also reports of interest in Belgian striker Marvin Ogunjimi. Any truth in these?
CBP

Believable5 Unbelievable6

I am please to hear that the Club are linked with Marvin Ogunjimi. He is a guy i would have tipped us to be interested in - and i wondered why the Club hadn't made a move. Affordable, strong, reasonable height, excellent scoring record at international level.

Hi guys today is a very busy day at parked & lennoxtown for the gaffer & board. I am quite close to Tony Watt spoke to him last night said expect Victor Wanyama I leave to one of big 4 in EPL. Also expect 3 signings comin in defender (CB) Midfielder (CM) Forward (CF). HH

Believable3 Unbelievable12

Wanyama won't leave this window, he will play against Barcelona etc and leave at the end of the season. Also, being close to a player means nothing lol, Tony Watt won't have a clue what's going on today....

Agree0 Disagree0

He'll be here for the CL this season then off .

Close to Tony Watt???????? One first team start and Lennon is confiding in Watt over transfer policy?

I have posted on here quite a few times regarding Beram Kayal.
I have been right every time, he is injury prone.
Do you think anyone will take a chance and bid for him ?

Believable3 Unbelievable11

BK is happy at CFC according to all reports. His present troubles go back to what can only be described as a barbaric assault within the footballing context by a player who has continually displays his agricultural talents. Yes no Other than Mr Lee McCulloch. The late over the top tackle on BK followed by the cowardly feigning of his own injury during the incident was something to behold. I really do not think there has been a Scottish footballer with so crass an agenda and so wicked intent on the field of play. BK was the subject of an outrageous hardly punished tackle, he is not injury prone. He like most effective and skillful players is prone to being taken out by negative less gifted players and some like McCulloch who appear to have no regard for the well being of their professional colleagues. Sopot Celt

Agree0 Disagree0

100% agree with you, we will never get a full season out of this guy. But no I don't think anyone will come in for him

Agree0 Disagree0

Unfortunately he does miss a lot of games and has come off 2nd best in a few tackles. (some of them dirty to be fair) But with Brown in and out of the team with another possible troublesome injury problem; I do think should add another ball winner, especially with Vic attracting interest from EPL.

JJ

Agree0 Disagree0

As the Big Yin says some people should get an agent instead of sitting in the dark handling themselves.

Agree0 Disagree0

I like beram. yes hes had injuries but when he is in he works for the team makes important tackles and can play a pass. be in the team as soon as his anckle heals a bit

Del Piero deal is off according to Neil Lennon. Efe Ambrose will arrive in Glasgow early this morning to complete his move from Israeli club Ashdod. Celtic will try to agree a fee with Dundee United for Johnny Russell and will launch a surprise move to bring back Scott McDonald from Middlesbrough.

Right Ed here's my end of things. I have only started posting the last 2 day due to my inside knowledge, at first i held back although me being a ST holder and fellow die-hard i let you in on my inside information. May see i've used the name 'Brian W' at the bottom of my posts, not my real name but would rather be referred to it to retain my identity.

Anyway here's the way things are panning out. Celtic or Dundee Utd won't budge over the £2m being asked for Johnny Russell, talks will continue and i hope (for our sake a deal is agreed. The Del Piero deal could still happen and is very much alive, we look to be the only club in the running now that Spurs have cooled off and he rejected Sion. He is however after £20k a week. Connor Wickhham deal is 95% done and will become a Celtic player tomorrow on a season long loan. Then myself and my other source are trying to find out who the mystery defender we are in talks with. First suspition was that it was Sean St Ledger, i can now deny that is the case. Could be any one of Efe Ambrose, Willy Boly (unlikely). I am a man very much in the know due to my job which i'm sure you can guess. Anyway there's the real deal on the going's on. Watch it all pan out infront of you tomorrow, Brian W.

Believable7 Unbelievable10

No chance, ive said numerous times Russell is not what Lenny is looking for.
There are no discussions taking place,he is heading to the championship.
Personally i would love to see Russell at CP but it wont happen.

Connor Wickham. We have a better yougster in Watt so waste of money. Dont think that one will happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ahh, I know who you are. U must be Peter Lawwell as u seem to know more than Lennon regarding transfer targets lol. Never seen such a pile off bull on this site before. Lennon has stated that the Del Piero deal is dead but u state it "very much alive". Also, how many times do u need to mention that u have inside info and why use a fake name then say your sure we know who u are. Go and get a job working for the record. You'll fit right in there.

Again Brian, thank God we have you and your extensive wealth of knowledge. I will sleep tonight buddy ;)

Because he is woefull. He is marginally better than Humphrey of Motherwell but miles away from the standard of Sammy, Commons, Forrest and McGeoch

a minimum of 3 signings to be made tomorrow! Del piero is coming to glasgow! Jonny Russel is heading down tomorrow morning and lennon is in talks with a few clubs about Centre backs! Wanyama will not leave! Lennon is not stupid to let another Centre half go! We dont need the money!

Believable1 Unbelievable8

Vics a midfielder ye he can play ch but is not 1. Wasted there IMO
